Summary: Great Action Movie
Review: Bruckheimer does it again. This action movie is easily as good as Con Air and surpasses most of the action movies out there. I thought this was better than Mission Impossible 2. The cast of Cage, Duvall and Jolie is good. Cage and Duvall's roles are by far the strongest roles, Jolie is wasted talent in this movie, as her role is quite short. Bottomline, the story is a little weak, but the action is fast and furious. I went to the movie to be entertained and Gone in Sixty Seconds was well worth the 8 bucks spent. Quit listening to the negative reviews...if you are a fan of action movies, car chases or Nicholas Cage, you have to see this. It is a great movie.

Summary: If you like cars...
Review: Gone in 60 Seconds was really fun to watch in the theater, but I'm not sure if it would be so good on video or DVD; it probably depends on your home entertainment system. Well, let's discuss the movie now: The plot - What plot? I don't remember one of those. It wasn't in there -- at least, if it was, Jerry Bruckheimer did a great job of concealing it! But especially if you like seeing tight cars, it's exciting for the eyes. It's basically a terrible story...Memphis (Nicolas Cage) is a retired car thief whose younger brother, Kit (Giovanni Ribisi) has begun mingling in the trade. Kit gets into trouble with one of the big bad boss men, and Memphis has to bail him out. They have a given number of days to jack fifty cars. Not all that believable, but the action is pretty cool. In a small sub-plot, Memphis and Sway (Angelina Jolie) are ex-flames who are relighting the candle. I don't regret paying $7.50 for a nighttime showing of this movie in an auditorium with sticky floors and broken armrests. It's not meant to be deep or thought-provoking. The best way to describe it is fun: it's fun to watch. It will be worth it to some people but not to others. It was to me.

Summary: Fast Cars, Fast Lines & Fast Women = 1 Fast Movie
Review: Gone in 60 seconds is one of the ultimate boys movies. Even from the opening credits the point is made that this movie is about fast cars. The opening scene where Nicolas Cage's brother steals a hot looking silver Porsche gives the audience a small taste of what is to come.

The plot starts to unfold and gives the movie a little bit of depth. Cage, now retired as the best known car 'booster' in town, must return to do one last job to save his brother's life.

The support characters that are assembled to help Cage steal 50 cars are simply great. There is the classic addition of Robert Duvall (who for all the 'Days of Thunder' fans will find a nice touch), and the right mix of computer guys, muscle guys, funny guys and guys that just make good pizza.

But of course a great boyz film just wouldn't be complete without a little bit of eye candy. This is satisfied with great ease by Angelina Jolie. She has the cute but tough car booster look working like a charm. Although she is not in the film very often I thought this was actually a good thing, because the director Dominic Sena obviously didn't lose sight of one thing - that this is a movie about fast cars. If you like fast cars, good one liners, and hot women then trust me - you'll love this movie.

Summary: One of the Best Car Movies Ever!
Review: This movie ranks up with the greatest car movies and TV shows ever created. It has fantastic stunts, that rank with Dukes of Hazzard. It contains extremely fast, expensive cars, such as a Porsche, a Lamborghini, and the high-light of the movie a 1967 Shelby GT500. This movie is a fast paced action film for all car lovers, and who knows maybe you non-car lovers will enjoy it.

Summary: Another Great Road Movie 01 July, 2000
Review: This movie is in the true tradition of Robert Mitchum's "Thunder Road", the scenes are dark and moody, the lead played perfectly by Nicholas Cage, Randall "Memphis" Raines who portrays a professional car thief. Cage who has retired some six years earlier to save his kid brother from getting into the " business". Of course the kid known as Kip Raines played by Giovanni Ribisi is in the big league up to his eye balls, working for a scumbag Raymond Calitri formally from England. The heists go badly wrong for Kip and his team of professionals who become the hunted by the real bad guys. Kip is detained in a soon to be crushed Camero a ploy that makes Memphis sign on. The movie then picks up with the old firm being brought out of retirement by Memphis in order so the 50 exotic cars can be found and shipped to South America. The Manager is Randall "Memphis" Raines and the Forman, Freb played by James Duval who is the corner stone of the team, a guy who has a successful restoration shop but also longs to have the adrenaline pumping once again in this life saving rescue to keep Kip from the evil Raymond Calitri. The remainder of the team signs on & fits in with the old firm learning from the new kids on the block, such treats as the electronic laser cut Mercedes keys and all the high technology that goes into stealing the best of the best in the year 2000.

For the first 30 minutes the movie is slow to start with all the characters working the plot. The action commences with the planning to steal the " Ladies " cars given women's names, listed by Freb. The car of all time is the Mustang Shelby GT 500, so rare but left in a car park [ a little hard to believe ] and the final car chase scene with this model again. I believe a mock look alike had to be used.

Angelina Jolie's part was wasted, this talented lady who has shown in other movies a great presence and acting ability on screen .This roll did not display her acting talents to there full extent. Another scene that looked great was where in the final chase where a wrecking ball takes a police vehicle through a wall with the rescue cop saying "Hey, man, are you all right?" "Yeah, I'm fine." "Are you sure? Cause you just went through a wall." In the real world the cop would have been hosed out and buried on site, I guess this one is Hollywood. The equipment used in the movie is great, coupled with the latest techniques gadgits used by the thieves. Good background research team support. There are many crash / smash scenes, car jumps that out of this world, heaps of alarms and the most exotic cars left on this planet. Here in Australia the movie has been rated by the censor as PG which is about fair. In the final showdown there is a three way hunt in a warehouse with Cage, the badguy Raymond Calitri and Detective Roland Castlebeck played by Delroy Lindo all meet and the shoot out takes place with Cage in the end walking tall. Go and see and enjoy this film as it is another great example of all the road movie's that have gone before.

Summary: Beautiful Cars+ Criminal Work+ Car Chases= Sleeper Hit
Review: I understand that Gone in Sixty Seconds didn't have much of a plot, it wasn't the epic movie event of the summer and it may not win any awards, but I enjoyed this movie and I feel that it is worth plunking down a few bucks to check out. If you just sit back and enjoy the movie instead of trying to analyze and critizise ever little detail, you will be satisfied with Gone in Sixty Seconds. It was interesting seeing the film told by the "bad" guys instead of the good guys. We as the audience got a "behind the scenes" type look at how the criminals operated. I must admit it was pretty cool and there were quite a few tense moments in which I was on the edge of my seat wondering if the police would uncover the stolen cars. The movie ends with an awesome car chase that had all 8 PEOPLE in the theater smiling. I feel that this movie was seriously an underhyped "sleeper" hit, hence the 8 people in the theater. The humor in the movie was sprinkled in all the right places. Overall, if you sit back and watch Gone in Sixty Seconds, I think you will discove a unique, interesting movie full of beautiful cars, tense criminal work and thrilling car chases.

Summary: One of year 2000's best
Review: Gone in 60 seconds is one of the most enjoyable movie I have ever seen. It has cool cars{67 Shelby} and a great cast Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Giovianni Ribisi and Robert Duvall.

The Plot is Cage goes back into the car stealing business when his brother {Ribisi} screws up a deal and is going to die unless Cage can steal 50 cars in 3 Days.

Angelina Jolie plays Cages past lover and is on screen for maybe 30 minutes. She also sports the most Aweful Hair.

Gone In 60 Seconds is a thrill ride and is a breathtaken Ride and its Orginal.

Summary: Written in Sixty Seconds
Review: Nicolas Cage, a retired car theif, wants to save his brother who just ruins everyone's life anyway, to not be killed by a SOOO scary Australian wood-obsessed cook. They have to steal 50 cars within 3 days or else the poor kid gets killed.

This movie is incredibly predictable, fails in being dramatic at the least, a corny villain, and very funny black people to help NIcolas Cage out. This is a typical "Movies For Guys Who Like Movies" on USA.

Who would leave rare cars in a parking lot? I don't know.

The car chase, which is also predictable as well, since there's a magic button that makes us you go 180 MPH. Give me a break. But it was a little entertaining.

Summary: Another summer without a good action movie.
Review: I was very disappointed with this flix just as I was with MI2. The problem here was too much tearjerking plot for an action movie. What happened to the great humor and top notch action sequences we saw in Con Air? The humor seemed forced and Duvall's talent was wasted. They steal all these hot cars and don't even manage a burnout, rockford, powerslide or even a pursuit until the last 15 minutes? Boring!! Ive seen better car chases on the Dukes. And as for that cgi car jump....dear god..cant bruckheimer even afford to trash a Shelby replica for a good looking jump. It's scary to think movies have reached an age where not even a car jump can be pulled off without digital special effects. I'd rather watch an episode of The Dukes: the Coy and Vance years or Smokey and the Bandit 3, than to sit through this farce again. I think the 'Gone in 60 Seconds' referred to the time it took them to pickpocket me out of the 7.50 I paid to see this ham-fisted flix. You want to know how bad this was? My girlfriend actually liked it!! 'Nuff said.

Summary: 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE WASTED
Review: I went to see this movie on opening weekend, with hopes it would be like all the great car chase movies of the 70's. But I was dismayed by the politically correctness of the 90's version. It took over an hour to see what was supposed to be a car being stolen, but it was just somebody walking up to the car, and then the car was magically transported to the drop off point. No chase, no action, no cops! They didn't have to steel 50 cars in 24 hours, THEY HAD 72! Angelina Jolie's character was a total waste. She didn't even need to be in this movie. I was hoping that the big chase scene would make up for all the unnessary background info and references to the 1st movie that were not even needed; because only a handfull of people know that there was a first movie made in 1974. I cant believe how disillusioned I was thinking there would be something worth watching in this film. The chase sceen was so fake, I nearly walked out. If I want to see a computer generated car jump over the accident area, I will go to an arcade. I should not have got my hopes up because every movie I've seen with Nicolas Cage was terrible. He changed the script, and the character, to fit his own ego. When will people like this learn that they must be accountable for their actions. I hold him personally responsible for the downfall of what could have been a good REMAKE. Nicolas Cage I want you to send me a certified cheque for $9.50 to cover the cost of admission. You can't put a price on the hour and a half of my life, that can never be replaced, but if I could, I'd send you a bill for that too!
