Review: How can you not love this movie? You've got all sorts of exotic cars. Jolie looks great in this movie. So does Elenor The 67 fastback. Both art pure art work as with the cars chases. If you love car movies like Two lane black top, American Graffiti, Vanishing Point, Bullit and Crazy Larry Dirty Mary your going to love this one!

Summary: Betty Chan and John Hynd are mental.
Review: First if Betty Chan knew anything about cars modern or from 30 years past you would understand how a car with 500 hp and a very nice N20(Nitrous Oxide) system can easily out pace and out handle the Chevrolet Caprice (4400lbs and 260hp) and the Crown Vic(4400lbs around 215 hp) that are standard police issue cars which appeared in the movie. However if you knew either of those facts you would have loved the movie even more :) To hear the Hemi Cuda rumble and growl and spew attitude and raw exhaust all up and down the road as Cage and Jolie passionately tangle in the front seat just before they are about to boost a Very Cherry Lambo is truly music to my ears and "eye candy" for the guys :). Oh and to shoot a movie down because of ONE 40 foot jump where the guy totally trashes the car and barely drives it off is a bonehead move. I mean how much of Hollywood is truly believable? If you like cars even remotely go see this movie and get goosebumps every time Cage gooses that wonderful Shelby GT500 or lays down two nice warm strips of rubber trying to evade the Police :)

Summary: Everything you could expect from Jerry Bruckheimer!
Review: If you are going to see a movie from Jerry Bruckheimer, you can expect very much great action, stunts, humor, a bit of romance and violence. And Jerry's newest hit "Gone in 60 Seconds" has it all!If you thought that "Ronin" had the best car-chases, you have to see this movie. Because especially the final car chase is much better then you saw in "Ronin" (don't get me wrong, "Ronin" is not a bad movie) Nicholas Cage acts good as always and Angelina Jolie is great in every possible way. I hope I'll see her in more movies. The other actors are great too. Trevor Rabin made as always a fantastic score for the movie! And, OK, there are some unbelievable things but that only makes the action more spectaculair. If you like cars or Jerry Bruckheimer movies you have to see this movie. If you only like Jerry Bruckheimer movies and not cars, go see it anyway!

Summary: TRASH OF THE LOWEST ORDER
Review: There is nothing good about this film. Nothing. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. The story takes an age to get going and when it does it doesn't amount to much. Instead of being a white-knuckle thrill-ride it is more a leaden-traffic jam. The story dies a long slow horrible death within 2 minutes and the rest of the movie is just us watching it die. It's not a pretty sight. Certainly not a sight you want to pay $5 for. There are like...2 chase scenes, tops. Are they are both SO BORING. There is a certain gimmick the director uses in these scenes (no it's not the 4 million shots of Nic Cage's foot on the pedals). I'm talking about the cops, who have almost caught up with Cage, being cut off by a truck, bulldozer, jalopy etc. it happens so many times it is practically a joke that is funny only to Dominic Sena. And the editing throughout the entire movie (as always in a Jerry Bruckhiemer production) is like the film has been shredded and just thrown back together. You cannot make out a single thing. The whole film is a blur. The plot of stealing cars is not entertaining. It is not cool, hip or streetwise. It is just boring. And apparently, in Long Beach California, if it's not Night it is always Sundown. I don't think that this is planetary possible but it happens in this movie nonetheless. Speed (?) and steel do not make a good movie. Even the villain is SO unscary. And he's only in it for like...a minute. No constant threat is made to Nic Cage. We begin to wonder "Why is he stealing these cars again?" Every cast member is wasted. The editing is criminal. The direction is pointless and the film as a whole is a waste of time, money and screen time.

Summary: Blown Away
Review: Wow! This has got to be the best movie I have seen in a long time. The storyline was not what I had it out to be... with Nick Cage and his little brother, and the car chase scenes were amazing. The best one with the GT in the Storm Duct, amazing seeing it outrun a helicopter. Definate one for me to add to my collection of DVD's.

Review: This movie is the best! The movie is none stop cars! Stealing cars, car chases, and blowing up cars! This movie has everything you could want in a film; action, romance, sex, comedy, and cool cars. I saw this movie the day it came out and the first time that it was showing at our theatre and I loved it. I gurantee that this will be one of your favorite movies.

Summary: Pure Action And Revving Engines
Review: High-voltage, testosterone-driven, non-stop action highlight "Gone In 60 Seconds," directed by Dominic Sena, and starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie. Top car thief Memphis Raines (Cage) retired from the life once he awoke to the fact that all of his friends were either dead or in jail. But the main reason was that he wanted to keep his younger brother, Kip (Giovnni Ribisi), from following in his footsteps. Now, six years later, Kip is in trouble; he's become a car thief anyway, and when he botches a "boost" big time, the man he works for (Christopher Eccleston) brings big brother back to make amends. He gives Memphis seventy-two hours to deliver fifty cars, of specific make and model, or he will kill Kip. By the time Memphis gets his old crew together, including Sway (Jolie), the girl he left behind when he retired, and scopes out the cars he'll need to boost, he has one night in which to do it. And if all fifty, and not one less, are not there by 8:00 a.m., Kip dies. There's not much story here, not nearly enough to warrant the star power involved, but if you're into fast cars, and the sound of a revving engine does it for you, this movie will keep your attention. For Cage, the character of Memphis isn't much of a stretch; none of the characters are for any of the actors, for that matter, as they're basically one dimensional, and nothing you haven't seen before in just about any action movie ever made. To give credit where it's due, however, they all do their best with what they're given, and actually bring a level of credibility to the overall proceedings. Jolie looks good, as always, but her talent is wasted here, as her part is, basically, nothing more than window dressing. Rounding out the excellent supporting cast are Robert Duvall (Otto), Delroy Lindo (Detective Castlebeck), Will Patton (Atley), Chi McBride (Donny), Vinnie Jones (The Sphinx), and Scott Caan (Tumbler). There's plenty of great action sequences in this film, many of which will keep you on the edge of your seat, and Sena keeps the tension high throughout with the help of a driving soundtrack and some good editing. The big question is, of course, will Memphis make it in time? Which gives it the suspense it needs to keep it at least somewhat interesting, for there is just enough unpredictability in the story to keep you guessing as to what the final outcome will be. "Gone In 60 Seconds" is basically one long car chase, with one bit, especially, leading up to the climax, that would make Evel Knievel proud. All in all, this movie is a lot like cotton candy; it's not a meal that's going to satisfy your hunger, but if that's what you're in the mood for, you might as well go for the best there is, the kind that's sweet and melts in your mouth. And if that's where you are, and that's what you're hungry for, you've come to the right place.
