Summary: Great for Kids!
Review: My 2 and 3 year old are totally into the Superheroes like Spiderman, Superman and Batman. This movie is perfect for them because the Batman & Robin action starts right away - it keeps their interest - and there's no violence to speak of. What a relief to let my kids watch a superhero movie and not worry about blood and gore! They love to watch this movie over and over again and I don't mind watching it myself - brings back tons of memories!

Summary: Excellent DVD
Review: I've put off buying this movie for years. I always loved the movie, but since I had already recorded it off tv, I had no real reason to. But when I saw the Dvd version, I just had to get it. It was excellent! Not just the quality of the movie--it looked brand new--but the extras also. For one, the movie is uncut. For those who have seen this movie on broadcast tv, there are several seens cut out. The is an extended scene where Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson are driving down a road on their way to Wayne Manor. This is at the begining of the movie just before Batman and Robin try to board a mysterious yaht. Then there is a scene where Batman calls the navy to ask them about a submarine they sold to the Penguin.Also included, is the original trail for the film, a teaser and a French trailor. But the gem of the package is the commentary by Adam West and Burt Ward. The commentary is just as entertaining as the movie is. They go into great detail how the scenes were shot, who came up with what idea, the in-jokes, and even the television show itself. They laugh at the campy scenes just as any of us would. They don't take themselves seriously which ads to the charm. There is also a in depth interview with the creater of the Batmobile. He has some humorous tales about the show as well and explains everything about the Batmobile down to what kind of engine it had and how they got the flame to shoot out the back. If you are a fan of Batman, you need to buy this, you will love it.

Summary: Camp Crusaders
Review: Acting as an extension of the television series, the 1966 Batman film, has everything that made that show a fun romp. Sure the film is total cheese, but I would argue that is exactly why it works, no ifs ands or bat-o-rangs. And hey, put side by side against George Clooney's take on the character, I'll take this film any day. Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) must rescue a kidnapped Commodore (Reginald Denny). Little do our heroes realize, that this is an elaborate ruse to dispose of them once and for all, and in turn rule the world. Some of their most ruthless foes have joined forces; The Joker, (Cesar Romero) The Penquin, (Burgess Meredith), The Riddler, (Frank Gorshin), and Catwoman (Lee Meriwether) make quite a fearsome and fun foursome. Sure, the film takes a back seat to Tim Burton's vision of Batman, but the cast and crew know that this aint Shakespeare folks...if you just let yourself accept it for what it is--you'll have a good time and a laugh or two. It was great to see this again. I started watching the series in syndication during the 70's and it has been quite a while since I last saw this film. Thankfully, the DVD, includes an enjoyable commentary by Adam West and Burt Ward. It's a lot fun to hear their thoughts on the film and the series. Viewers can also take a totally rad tour of the Batmobile, watch an all-new Batman featurette, look at a behind the scenes still gallery, and watch the vintage theatrical trailers. Holy recommended DVD

Review: How you will enjoy this movie all depends on where you're coming from. If you're a fan of the original Batman, I can see you liking this. But if you've been spoiled with today's high-flying flicks, this Batman won't have much going for it. The movie moves rather slow in parts, the action isn't too exciting, and the villians kind of bothered / annoyed me. However, there were a few good things about it. Some clever dialogue and goofy scenes (like an exploding shark attacking Batman in the air) made the show fairly enjoyable. It's a nice, mellow, clean revival of an ancient license. Not the greatest, by far, but what did you expect?

Review: In 1966, with the newly minted Batman television show already underway, this movie came out to drum up even more ratings. In this movie Batman (played by Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) face an uphill fight, when Penguin (Burgess Merideth), Joker (Cesar Ramero), Riddler (Frank Gorshin) and Catwoman (Lee Meriwether) team up to take over the world! With lots of Biffs and Whams, the dynamic duo takes them on head-to-head, and win with their hearts and minds. [Color, released in 1966, with a running time of 1:45.] OK, this movie shouldn't be taken too seriously. With a low budget and tongue-in-cheek writing, it's hard not to laugh at the antics. But, that said, it is a fun movie, with lots of excitement and action. My children loved this movie, and I loved that it was clean and up beat. By the way, a real selling point of this DVD is the extras. My favorite two extras were the look at the Batmobile (staring its designer, George Barris!), and a fun Batman featurette in which Adam West and Burt Ward let you in on all the behind-the-scenes hijinks. This is a great DVD that I highly recommend to all families! Watch it and have fun!

Review: This is the one Batman movie that has put a large shadow over comic to film projects. This is how not to do Batman, or create Gothom Citry with cheesy production values. This movie is a disgrace to Batman, and I'm sorry to say Warner Brothers does not seem to have learned from (aka 1997's Batman and Robin.)

Review: This movie rocks the casbah completely. West and Ward play deadpan superheroes to the hilt (what delicious oxymoron!), while the four villains -- especially the maniacal Gorshin and sensously campy Meriwether -- light up the screen. Tons of great gags here, from the infamous exploding shark trap to West's perhaps most well-known piece of dialogue, "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"... it's the sort of absurdism you can only achieve by looking through the eyes of a child, and plays wonderfully for adults and kids alike. Also, according to Amazon's sales rankings, this is the best-selling Batman DVD product! I suppose the [$$$] tag helps, but if it's even outselling Tim Burton's first (classic) Bat-movie, can a release of the TV series be far behind? Ok, well, it CAN, but here's hoping... As for the DVD itself, the picture and sound are great, and there are even some fun bat-extras thrown in to satisfy us fans who've seen this flick a million times and want more. The West/Ward commentary is a dream, and there are separate interviews with the two leads, a mini-expose on the creation of the Batmobile, stills from West's collection, and, delight of delights, a version of the movie preview in Spanish! Well worth the [$$$]P>All told, this is a necessary respite from the grim 'n' gritty version of the character we know today. That stuff's fun, too, but sometimes it's best not to take this character as seriously as he seems to take himself. [...].. Batman!

Summary: A great DVD.
Review: It's a hilarious movie and the DVD hits just right. I always loved this movie. The old TV show was always fun to watch. With over 250 guest stars throughout it they always brought in great actors to play thew villains, and they make stellar performances in this film.
The sound is great the color (as Burt Ward will tell you himself in the commentary) is magnificent. And speaking of the commentary, I was so excited to see that this DVD included commentary by Adam West and Burt Ward. What they have to say is interesting and funny. If you liked the film you'll love this DVD. It doesn't have that many special features, but the ones it does have makes it worth your while.
