Review: The first half of this movie is pretty boring but the second half was worth sitting through the first half to see. It was really good. I only gave it 3 stars cause I think it does not compare to Jet Li or Bruce Lee movies. For an old school movie this is pretty good though.

Review: The action is ok, but not as much as these reviews would have you believe. I own this but it is probably the last movie I would pick to watch in my collection. The fighting styles are used better in other movies. This may be the original but that doesn't make it a "great" movie.

Review: This is a classic and any Kung Fu fan should already own it,This movie has great fights,a cool story,very intresting characters and your never bored it doent mater this film was made 25 years ago it hangs with the best we have today and probaly even better than 9 of 10 today!

Summary: Brutal Kung Fu action-blast!
Review: Anyone who grew up in the late seventies and early eighties probably had the pleasure of seeing this great Kung Fu classic on late night television. That was back in the good old days before the greedy television networks and local cable companys sold very last bit of late night air-time to infomercials.Five Deadly venoms stands out as one of the most action-packed, laugh-inducing, brain-blasting, high-kickin' and hard-hittin' Kung Fu Films ever made! I got over a depression caused by watching too many " art films " at university by locking myself in a room with 10 Shaw brothers films, a case of king cans and all the early Ramones albums. Way better than anti-depressants! I feel good now and so will you if you sit through Five Deadly Venoms at least 10 times in a row! The Shaw brothers can't be beat. Five Deadly Venoms is top-notch Kung Fu. Right? RIGHT!

Review: Forget the quality because the Venoms are all about substance. Sure the transfer isn't great, but the story is. The Venoms are what make the film, and their great. I only wish they were capitalizing on their cult status fame. The Toad & Lizard are both still alive. The Scorpion & Centepede have not been seen for more then 15 years. And sadly to say, the youngest of them all,the pupil past away from heart problems a couple of years ago. But if you love the venoms, this is a classic for all ages.

Review: I am angry at how every damn great classic Shaw Bros is just tossed around on lousy DVD editions with zero care put into them and tossed into 5 dollar bins, wish some company that gave one care would start re-releasing films the way they were meant to be seen, I am pretty sickened and sad that most of these films will never see a proper release.

Summary: A Shaw Bros. Classic
Review: This movie to me is one of the greatest kung fu flicks ever made with a creative plot, amazing fight scenes and memorable characters.
The story begins when Yan Tieh's(Chiang Sheng) teacher tells him the history of the "Poison Clan" and their five main techniques(Centipede, Snake, Scorpion, Lizard and Toad). His teacher then sends him on a mission to uncover the true identities of his former pupils, see which ones are using there kung fu for evil and warn a retired colleague that his 'Poison Clan fortune" is under threat from the former pupils. After barely starting his investigation, the colleague is murdered and his treasure stolen by the Centipede and Snake. This leads to the capture of the Centipede by the Lizard and Toad and the false torture and conviction of the Toad by the corrupt judge. Ending with one of the greatest fight scenes ever filmed,"The Five Deadly Venoms" gives an excellent demonstration of story, action and training sequences.
This film is one of the best that the Shaw Bros. have made in years. It is filled with great scenery, plot twists and fight scenes. Even though there isn't constant fighting, when a fight starts it lasts for several minutes. For example, the final fight is well over 10 minutes long.Along with the action,the introductory training sequence is spectacular and is enough to astound any non-comedy kung fu fan.

Review: Awesome movie from the Kung Fu Masters, The Shaw Brother. Great action, cool storyline, everything a kung fu film should be. Definitley a worthwhile film.

Summary: A Martial Arts Classic
Review: For those that Know about and have seen the 5DV; I aint got to tell ya anything. For all others, you need to buy this movie now, especialy if you consider yourself a martial arts buff. I don't talk to people who claim to like martial arts films and haven't seen this one.
...This movie is definitly in the top 3 of the SB collection; if not thier best. The plot is solid and the fighting is superb. The title explains everything. The poison clan members were trained in 5 deadly styles: Toad, Lizard, scorpion, snake, and centipede. From opening credits to the final fight you are held captive.
I have been a fan of this film since I first saw it in the late 80's. It is a must have film for any Martial Arts Buff.

Review: If you are even reading this review, you have to be a Venoms fan. So I wont even comment on how great this film is. Quality-wise, this version by crash cinema is one of the best reproductions of Kung Fu theater films out there. The picture quality is generally good, although, the audio (dubbing) quality can be quite low and buzzy at times. Perhaps this is due to the film being transfers from 20 year old film stock. But the fidelity of all the kung fu sounds comes out well. I am really waiting for the digitally remastered version of this classic to be put out by celestial pictures. The company has acquired all films in the Shaw Brothers library (including all the venoms films. Of the releases I have seen so far, the quality is just amazing. As far as I know, 5 deadly venoms is scheduled to be released in August 2003.
