Summary: Excellent vampire/action movie
Review: This was an excellent action/vampire movie. The storyline was well written and their seemed to be no problem in putting the storyline on the big screen. It is not your classic vampire flick and if that is what you are looking for this Blade is not for you. On the other hand I think you will enjoy this movie. One thing that I found real cool that some of the vampire legends were not true in this movie. For example, crosses no longer warded off vampires. Also vampires often made allies of mortals. This was one aspect I liked about the movie. Another thing I found very enjoyable was that Blade is exhibited to be a ruthless and cold blooded killer when it came to dealing with evil vampires. Yet on the other hand when it came to his friends and allies he was almost the exact opposite. Snipes, and the creators of this movie did a very good job with displaying these two contradicting personalities in Blade's character. I see some people commenting that Blade should have tried to save his vampire mother. However, Blade realized that she was a vampire and that she posed a serious threat. Because of this, he knew that he needed to take her out, which he did. The fighting scenes were spectacular and for the most part Blade was beating the living crap out of any vampire who dared step in his path, and his skilled use of all his tools and gadjects were very appealing to watch. However in the last scence blade got beat up pretty bad but he got his revenge later. In addition to the fight scenes the special effects were done very well, nothing really spectacular, but that is certainly better then over doing it. one scene that stands out in my mind is the scene were all of the vampires' blood joins and its begining to fall onto Frost's head. This seems to be a very simple scene but the closeup of the single drop of blood was very pleasing and at the same time erie to watch. Snipes acting was pretty good, but I think that the best acting in this movie goes to Stephen Dorf his character of Frost was VERY convincing and he himself was probally the scariest part of the movie. There is also an alternate ending which I am VERY glad did not end up in the final cut of the movie. The final scene in the alternate ending shows Frost actually changing into the blood god and it was very corny and terribly done. I am glad they decided to cut that part and im sure you will be glad too. If there was one bad thing about this movie, there were 2 or 3 cheesy one liners that could have been left about the movie. But, I guess it did add a bit of comic relief. All in all Blade is a very well written and well done movie. Non-critical veiwers and will enjoy this movie for what it is and will not try to compare Blade's character to other "nicer" superheroes.

Summary: Excellent Vampire Movie
Review: Blade was an excellent vampire movie, the best one since Bram Stokers Dracula, but these two movies are entirely different. Blade has great special effects, plenty o' action, and a reasonably good cast. Wesley Snipes plays as Blade, the good vampire who kills the bad vampires. Steven Dorff plays Frost, the bad vampire who wants to kill the good vampire, Blade. The plot flows together nicely and does not seem disjointed like some other vampire movies of late. The end fight scene is one of the coolest fight scenes that I have ever seen, any action fan will agree that the two do a good job of portraying their hate toward each other, and mock each other during the fight. Overall this movie is fantastic from beginning to end. Highly recommended to anyone who likes action/horror movies or vampire movie fans.

Summary: A vampire movie with a lot of action included
Review: "Blade" isn't a bad vampire movie, but it's not the best one I've seen. Blade (Wesley Snipes) stars as a sort of half breed of a vampire and a human who is out to find the king of the blood-thirsty vampires, Frost (Stephen Dorff). But to find Frost, Blade must first get through Frost's numerous troop of relentless vampires. The best thing about "Blade" is without a doubt the special effects. It has some of the best special effects out of any movies in the past year. Of course, since this is a Wesley Snipes movie, there's also a lot of exciting fighting sequences as well. All the actors do a great job in the movie and the movie is entertaining, but I got tired of it after I watched it a few times, that's the only thing I don't like about it. But then again, I'm not the biggest fan in the world of vampire flicks in the first place. I recommend anybody who really likes vampire movies a lot to get "Blade."

Summary: Puzzling
Review: Hip moves, nice fight scenes and great makeup dominate this DVD about a vampire war. Blade is an action/horror story where its hero, "Blade" uses blades, guns, and bombs to fight and kill vampires. Blade, himself, is a hybrid, part vampire, part human. With so much going for it, where did this movie go wrong? First, this story is based on a comic series. There, of couse, is nothing wrong with this, so was the Superman or Batman movies. However, I was more familiar with them. In Blade, if you don't know anything about the comics, you may get a little lossed in the story. More to the point, the people here, were uninteresting. I don't think is was the acting, I think it was the script. Blade, I think, still has enough in it to appeal to the fans of the comic and some teenage male audiences. If you are in your twenties, or older or basically any female, I don't think you will like it. Even dedicated Wesly Snipes fans will probably be happier if they stay away from this horrible horror/adventure movie.

Summary: Blade the Urban Vampire
Review: Perhaps the reason that Blade gets any good reviews is that it masks its absurd plot with such overdone action that no one really thinks about the story behind it, (The screenplay is written by David Goyer who penned 'The Crow: City of Angels', if that tells you anything). It is a two-hour collection of jokes, stunts, chases and bloodlettings in search of a story or at least one compelling character. In fact, the movie has more in common with 'Mortal Kombat' than it does 'Dracula'. Wesley Snipes, one of three producers on the picture, plays the relentless Marvel Comics vampire hunter Blade, whose chief goal is to wipe out Frost (Stephen Dorff). This outrageous White punk vampire, who has no interest in suppressing his impulses, threatens the more conservative vampires, led by Dragonetti (Udo Kier), who merely want to blend in with the humans they prey on. Actually, the story is basically Black-vampire-vs-White-Euro-trash-vampire. Director Norrington, whose only prior credit was a straight-to-video movie called Death Machine, wraps the movie in the typical MTV/video style. The DVD itself is chock full of goodies. It offers a 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio. The sound is astonishing, even on a stereo television without a Dolby Digital Receiver. There are English subtitles as well. The extras actually compliment the film rather than just illustrate how it was made. The audio commentary featuring Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, writer David S. Goyer, director of photography Theo Van De Sande, production designer Kirk M. Petruccelli, and producer Peter Frankfurt is screen specific. There is also a second audio commentary featuring the isolated score with commentary by composer Mark Isham. Of course, the usual cast and crew biographies and filmographies are also included along with the theatrical trailer.

Review: This movie was the best vampire movie since "Dracula". It had the action, and everything people crave in a movie. Wesley Snipes delivered a Oscar Winning performance. I love it so much I went and bought twenty copies, it has a lot of features, and good story line.

Summary: A Very Fantastic Movie, but......
Review: I just got finished watching this movie. And to tell you the awesome to god truth, this movie is so phat. All the graphical unrealism, great stuntmen, great role-play, and the fighting shown throughout the whole movie. I really liked Wesley's attitude, he's cool, a "cold-hearted" hero. Those are the things people look for in a hero, or movie like this one. Only 1 drawback, it's that dog-gon lady that keeps on trailing behind Blade. I honestly got aggravated just by looking at her and hearing her talk. She wrecked the whole scene, but Wesley stole the mic and took over the stage. To me any one of you under 18, I don't think you should watch it.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST VAMPIRE MOVIES
Review: Blade is by far head and shoulders superior to most vampire movies. The special effects, although digital, do not look cheezy and fake. This movie is also one of the best action flicks that I have ever seen! Blade is also a very scary horror movie. Wesley Snipes plays the part of Blade with true "comic book" conviction. A great movie-buy it!!
