Rating: Summary: Sharp and Intelligent Review: Out of Sight is a wacky, smart, and sophisticated comedy/crime drama. Jennifer Lopez is finaly doing us a favour by being in good, solidly written productions, instead of low-budget, gritty stuff like Anaconda. The DVD is superb, with excellent color and great sound. The behind the scenes featurette is wondeful! I give the movie a 4, the DVD a 5.
Rating: Summary: Yes Yes Yesssss! Review: This movie proves that you CAN make a mass-market action flick that actually has interesting characters, quality acting, excellent dialogue, and an unpredictable plot. Why oh why can't Hollywood crank out more of them? Lopez is the hottest babe on film...even her oversized buns can be forgiven, I wouldn't kick HER out of bed for eating cookies! Clooney radiates a sexual magnetism I've never seen in any of his other films. And the soundtrack rocks!
Rating: Summary: only for raining days Review: bad story no action only a funny lovestor
Rating: Summary: for raining days only Review: this movie is only a funny love storie wihtout action
Rating: Summary: This movie is over rated! Review: It's a decent dvd rental but not something I'd go out and buy. The leads have great chemistry but the story line was so so. I think you have to be a true romantic to really like this movie (just like City of Angels, another movie I didn't like).
Rating: Summary: Lopez/Clooney chemistry is outstanding Review: This is definitly one of the sleeper hits of 1998. The whole movie is original, from the plot lines to the time sequencing. Clooney and Lopez are wonderful on screen and you really felt for the criminals. Ving Rhames compliments Cloony's character perfectly. The two of them (Clooney and Rhames) are the best crime combo since DeNiro and Kilmer in Heat. The comedy is brilliant here, everything from the sarcastic tone to the offshoot camera editing. This is one of my favorite movies of last year. Definitly a must see.
Rating: Summary: Clooney Is Awesome Review: I've seen this movie twice on video and once in the theater and I enjoyed it all three times.I've seen George in everything from the Facts of Life to Dusk Til Dawn and I must say this movie lets George be funny and sensual at the same time which is not hard for him is it ladies?
Rating: Summary: 1998's Best Review: The best movie of 1998. I loved how the story unfolded back and forth on itself. The acting is generally superb all around-especially Don Cheadle as "Snoopy" Miller. I have yet to see him in a bad movie. What I liked about this movie is that you had to pay attention. I've heard people say the story was hard to follow but it really wasn't. People just are lazy at movies these days and want everything spoonfed to them.
Rating: Summary: The Best Overlooker Movie of 1998. Review: Out of Sight is simply a must have DVD. The film has the most perfect and solid casting of ANY movie this year. Clooney should have reached super stardom for his work here; he nailed every scene. Lopez is also convincing as the smart and tough as nails marshall. Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Steve Zahn, Albert Brooks and every other actor here create a seemless world of crime, drama, and humor. This movie is NOT plot driven, but character driven. It works SO well. And it's all brought together by Steven Soderbergh. The sets to wardrobe, each locale has a distinct feel to it. The love scene in the hotel is PERFECT. The way it is cut with the freeze frames and timelines make it the most effective love scene I have ever seen. The extras on the DVD are tops. From a making of to deleted scenes, this is what the DVD format was made for. THE MENU SCREENS WILL BLOW YOU AWAY. Out of Sight is truly that.
Rating: Summary: What's the big deal! Review: After reading rave reviews of this movie, I rushed to my video store and plunked down my money for the DVD--I rushed right back the next day to get my money back. Boring and lackluster, George Clooney et al are wasted on this film. Time wasted viewing the film, at least I got my money back.
