Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Pretty Lame
Review: In one word, this movie is not worth the time. Don't buy this. It shows you what's going on slightly and takes up the rest of the film focusing on how people are reacting and how sorry they are. Much better off with Armaggedon.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Smarter, more thoughtful and more believable than Armageddon
Review: Where Armageddon may appeal to movie goers looking for fantasy and complete escape from reality, Deep Impact is perfect for the rest of us with IQ's north of 75. Deep Impact is a perfectly staged arena to ask the questions, "T minus 10 days until we are all dead. What do you want to do? Give up now or fight to survive?" This is a VERY thought provoking movie. I also found myself liking the characters and experiencing genuine emotion through and with them. I cannot rate this movie highly enough. Be prepared though, for it is NOTHING like Bruce/Ben/Liv/etc's far weaker effort.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Flawed, but compelling film
Review: A compelling look, to say the least, of how individuals face a global crisis. Obviously more depth than the similarly premised "Armaggedon", with much more intelligence. Still, it falls victim to typical Hollywood emotionalism and melodrama, and you just can't help but crack a smile at the "Ark" mineshafts --- "Mr. President, we must not allow a mineshaft gap!!!" (What Kubrickian film was that from??!)

Summary: Surprisingly, my favorite movie of the Summer
Review: I remember the day I saw this. It was right before Godizlla, and I had low expectations. I wanted to see the big lizard. But unlike such cartoon movies like Godzilla and Armageddon, Deep Impact actually had substance. You could not have predicted the entire plot from the opening credits, and it was filled with great actors (Morgan Freeman, Robert Duval). Next to Good Will Hunting and As Good As it Gets, Deep Impact was my third favorite movie of the year.

It's basically what would happen if an asteroid really was going to hit Earth (we sure would not get a bunch of oil drillers trained in a week and send them up on a space shuttle). Get it and tell me you like it better than Armageddon and I'll be shocked. The only good thing Armageddon had that Deep Impact did not was Charleton Heston giving a speech at the beginning.

Summary: not very good but not that bad.kind of mushy.
Review: it was too mushy i didnt like it at all

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good movie, not exactly what I expected...
Review: I was looking for a disaster flick, and got a human interest story instead. Try as I might, though, I can't completely trash this movie, as this is a case where good acting comes to the rescue of piecemeal editing, and blatantly misleading advertising.

Summary: THIS SHOW WAS BORING
Review: The plot was OK but the emotional scenes were to long and WHINY

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: If you thought 'Armageddon' was mindless, see Deep Impact!
Review: It's a realistic, scientifically sound (mostly), intelligent, and a heart-pounding psychological look at what we would all have to face before and during such a catastrophe. Unlike 'Armageddon,' this is a film for a mature audience.

Enjoy!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Deep thinking for Deep Impact
Review: Deep Impact will strike you like a 50 mega-ton Asteroid! Thought provoking and heartful, it had more to say than Armageddon. It gives new meaning to "winning" the Lottery...

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Melodrama takes itself far too seriously
Review: "Dear Abby" meets Halley's comet. Big sobs and not a whole lot more. At least Armageddon was entertaining, even if brain dead. Deep Impact gets one star for "decent filmmaking", but a whopping 10 for "boring and pretentious". Enjoy.
