Summary: Deep Impact is Shallow
Review: This is simply an awful movie with really good actors walking through their parts. I saw this movie immediately after seeing Armageddon and their is no comparison - Armageddon is much more excting both visually and as a story.

Summary: A somewhat disappointing disaster movie
Review: It is interesting how few disaster movies have actually dared to depict the catastrophe of a greater scale than the one in Deep Impact. Even the aliens of Independence Day did not threaten the Earth such absolute and meaningless annihilaiton. However, despite its brave intentions, Deep Impact hardly manages to be more than average as a whole, primarily because of the generally predictable nature of the plot. The acting is never too expressive, and most of the characters are relatively stereotypical. The idea of selective sheltering, taken straight from Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, does seem much more convincing than in that film - yet this does not help the fact that it is, after all, an idea taken from somewhere else. And although the film does summon some emotions about the horror of what is going on, its failure to focus sufficiently on any one of the sub-stories gives the movie a strange feeling of aloofness, leaving the viewer ultimately dissatisfied.

Summary: One word sums up the entire movie "Awsome"
Review: I saw this movie on VHS and wish I had seen it on a wide screen to take in the extreme video graphic special effects. There is a website up by the makers of the movie also. The site follows the story and makes the video more worth watching. the spfx were flawless and the actors were very believable. especially Morgan Freeman as the president. I have watched this movie several times since purchase and enjoy every time I turn it on. We need more like this, that sit you on the edge of your seat and keep you there. C. Kitchell

Summary: Deep Impact=Real/Armageddon=Ridiculous Fun
Review: While Armageddon is big, bright, boomy and 'awful purty", a true Hollywood MOOVIE, Deep Impact is a film about people. Does anyone here actually believe a little space all-terrain vehicle-thingy on an asteroid could do an Evel Knievel jump?! Jeez the banking turns that the "space shuttles" made made me wince. 10th grade science class? Hello...On the other hand, WHAT IF...just WHAT IF a comet was actually heading this way. What would we do? What would I do? What would a ship actually fly like in space? That's Deep Impact. Instead of the "YeeHaw!" that is Armageddon. Take your pick...I'll pick both, but for different reasons.

Summary: Do not confuse this with Armageddon.
Review: Please do not confuse or compare this movie with Armageddon, because they are two completely different movies. Sure, they both deal with the world coming to an end due to a "big rock" falling from space (in Armageddon, it was an asteroid and in Deep Impact it's a couple of comets). But that's where the similarities end. Where Armageddon was a great action movie with lots of laughs and eye candy galore, Deep Impact is a more serious and emotional look at the subject. Plenty of "bite your nails" suspense along with enough tear jerking moments to empty out an entire Kleenex box, Deep Impact is an outstanding movie and a definite "Must Own" for anybody's video library. Don't miss it!

Review: This movie is a great movie to watch! It was way better than "Armegeddon". This movie was more realistic than "Armegeddon". It had more than one storyline to it... It didn't just revolve around one specific group of people. "Armegeddon" was very unrealistic! how are you going to train a bunch of mine workers to be astronots in a few days??? "Deep Impact" was way way better!! I give it "TWO THUMBS UP"!

Review: : "DEEP IMPACT is a tear jerkin with joy type of film! It has action, good plot, settings, and great actors and actresses! I wish this movie would be atleast 2hrs 45 min long not 1hrs 55min, because it leaves important parts out! It leaves the story between The Beidermans family! like what happened to the Beidermans, after the comet made impact? I go along with E critic86! I feel that actresses like Tea Leoni and Leelee Sobieski will be known more in films in the future! With the help of DEEP IMPACT! (they both have been in films before)

Summary: GREAT MOVIE!!!
Review: Everyone puts this movie down because of one thing: not enough special FX. But, take for example "Mask of Zorro", that movie relied on about 5% FX. This movie is a little better than "Armageddon" because this movie cares more about the characters and what they go throough in order to prepare for a worldwide disaster. Very emotional and full of drama, this movie is a must have for DVD because of the 5.1 Soundtrack and the x-tra features.

Summary: A real ***** movie!!! Elijah Wood was brilliant!!
Review: This film is one of the best films I have ever seen. Elijah Wood was at his best despite him being one of the most underrated actors in recent memory. Robert Duvall also turned in another outstanding performance. Tremendous acting, photography, special effects and plot made this a real science fiction hit. "Deep Impact" is about a large comet that threatens to collide with earth and wipe out most of mankind. Check out the end of this film. It's awesome!!
