Summary: BETTER THAN ARMAGGEDDON
Review: I have seen this movie probably over 10 times, and Armaggeddon twice. How people can say that this movie is boring because of various subplots proves that there is one hellava dumbing down in America going on if people can't keep stories of regular people and families in crisis straight. This movie was more like Armaggeddon than Armaggeddon was. Politically it was as real as if it actually happened. You see it build at the beginning because you don't know what's being hushed-up and it just goes from there, but unfortunately there are quite a few people in this country who do not quite get it. And these are the same people who either don't vote, or vote for the best looking politician. I highly recommend this movie and urge people to listen to it throughout. Don't be ignorant.

Summary: Who Needs Big FX?
Review: Alot of these reviews whined about how this movie only had one or two special effects-ridden scenes. so let's get something straight:a movie doesn't have to have big CGI numbers with realistic digital sound to be a good movie. I originally wanted to see this movie because I thought it was going to be a big action/sci-fi/thriller, but I was far from disappointed when I heard the sniffles coming from around the theater. I aboslutely loved this movie because it had honorable characters and some great gut-wrenching drama. And these people who say "An asteroid's gonna hit Earth and you're gonna die; get over it": how heartless are you people? If you see a four-year-old little girl playing with a LONG straw blissfully unaware that she is about to die; if you can see this and say 'big deal', how heartless are you?

Review: Probably the worst film ever made, with out of date and cut-and-stick special effects. The part where the boy and girl get married, please give me a break or better still, give me my money back so I can buy Armageddon instead.

Review: This movie is wonderful. It is full of action. The reason itis great is it is clean which it doesn't have alot of profanity. Also it is action-packed and full of surprises and is a heart-warming must-see!

Summary: A poor, poor disaster film
Review: Deep Impact is really more of a human drama than a disaster film. Actually, I was expecting more drama than action while I was watching this film and that's what I got. The reviewer below me who says that's lots of people have been watching this movie for the wrong reasons is pretty much right. But even as a drama, Deep Impact crashes. Hard. Instead of focusing on one or possibly just two main characters, this movie features a bunch of subplots that don't even connect. I understand that director Mimi Leder and the writer must have been trying to show the audience the different reactions of normal people in a time of crisis, but it just doesn't work. The fact that most of the lead roles don't even meet each other hurts the movie even more, not to mention most of each character's stories are pretty boring. And I'm still wondering how the ship could land on a comet. I'm more than positive that's impossible.

Summary: I think that this movie is great.
Review: I think that "Deep Impact" is the second best movie of all times. The best is "Star Wars Episode 1." But any way, this movie is great because of the special effects, and the great plot. It was sad when the space crew died, but happy that the world was saved.

Summary: People have been seeing it for the wrong reasons
Review: I noticed when reading other reviews here that some people have said things like not enough special effects, too much crying, etc etc. It is obvious to me that these people saw this movie for all the wrong reasons. It isn't just a special effects action movie as so many of you obviously crave. If that's what you want, don't see it. If you want the good story and intriguing possibility of it, watch it.

Summary: armageddon without any story
Review: From the very beginning this movie was awful. The story line is very weak. The directore attempts to build tension by showing how the blow the comet. What took armageddon over an hour to do they compressed into six minutes tops. Then they shift to who's going to die and who will live when the comet will hit. The graphics are pretty good for when one piece hits. I especially love watching people attempting to outrun a wave moving at 1100 mph. Pure junk through and through. Rent but don't ever buy

Summary: If You've Seen the Commerical, Don't Bother with the Movie
Review: This movie bites, and is one of the most over-hyped, yet thoroughly dissapointing, films I've ever seen. This is the first egg ever laid by Morgan Freeman to my knowledge, whose movies are generally outstanding. While his performance is good, there's not much else to see - every cool special effect in the entire movie was shown in the pre-release commercials! If this movie had featured ten more minutes of special effects (that's what saved Armageddon) and ten less minutes of mindless character development of lame characters I didn't care about, it might have worked. Instead, I left the theater thinking "That's it?" and wanting a refund. Because I disliked this movie so much, I did not go see Armageddon in the theater, which I regret. I definitely made the wrong call. Watching Deep Impact is like watching ice melt. Yuck.
