Summary: It's a must see movie. Marlon Brando is simply superb!
Review: When I first seen this movie I was awestruck at just how good the makers of this movie portrayed the seasoned vet. I am a war vet of Desert Storm and military vet of 20 years and counting. No I haven't been to Vietnam, I was just too young.

Summary: It is an experience
Review: Watching this movie is difficult. It makes you think what you would be like in the same situation. "Never leave the boat!" Do yourself a favor and get the widescreen version, get a big screen tv, turn the lights off, the volume up, the easychair back, watch and experience. One for the ages, baby.

Summary: AMZING
Review: I saw this movie and was amazed at it. This film is one of the best war movies ever. Its plot is excellent as well as the characters, especially Robert Duvalls character which I thought was insane and creepy. I gave this movie four stars because I really didn't understand what Martin Sheen was doing in his bed room at the begining of the movie.

Summary: BEST MOVIE EVER MADE....PERIOD!
Review: One word describing Francis Ford Coppola GENUIS!

One Word to describe the movie, there isn't a word to describe the brilliance and creativity of this film, there isn't a word in any language that could describe how great this movie is. Great is an understatement the movie was excellent. If you didn't like the movie, get yourself checked because there's something seriously wrong. :)

Summary: Another Coppola Masterpiece
Review: Indeed Apocalypse Now is one of Francis Ford Coppola's masterpieces, along with The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2. Probably one of the movie industry's best war films ever, Coppola's vision of the Vietnam War is unlike any war movie I've ever seen. It truly showed the horrors of the war and the young soldiers who became crazy over the fact they had to be brought into Vietnam without experience. Ranking #28 in AFI's 100 movies of all-time, I believe it fits the right place. I now can't wait to see Hearts of Darkness: A Film Maker's Apocalypse. And one more thing: Marlon Brando couldn't have performed his part any better.

Summary: A journey to the deepest, darkest depths of human hypocracy
Review: A timeless masterpiece of innocence forever lost...a frightening glimpse into the mad world that we humans can create for ourselves...Martin Sheene is nothing short of brilliant...One of the greatest film achievements of all time.

Summary: Among the best I have seen
Review: reading the other reviews I find that most people see this as a very good war movie, about the effect that war has the futile nature of all conflict. The heart of the movie is the journey into the deepest evil that is inside all men. It follows the degredation of a man slowly driven mad, and the attempt by another to understance him, and why he did it. It is based very closely in content in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, the film being based in Veitnam rather than colonial Africa principally because it would have struck less of a chord amongst the American public if it was based in an area they had no involvement with.

The great performances by the leads in this movie bring the horrific evil man is capable of home, and brings us some way to understanding it. However at the end there is no answer, and the movie ends in rather strange fashion, and in truth the way that is typical of mans rection. TO destroy what he cannot, and can never hope to understand. This is a great movie that anyone who likes to watch movies as more than simple entertainment will relish.

Summary: Apocalypse Now is the best movie ever.
Review: Apocalypse Now is a screen masterpiece. The cinematography is outstanding, and along with the suppurb lighting, Coppola's story telling abilites shine through. Taken from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, as well as Homer's Odysey, the movie portrays horror and darkness in the Vietnam war better than any other.

Review: ONE OF THE MOST DISTURBING,HARROWING AND HUMAN FILMS EVER MADE. LIKE HEART OF DARKNESS, IT EXAMINES THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE HUMAN MIND IN AN HONEST AND BRUTAL MANNER. A TRUE MASTERPIECE.

Summary: SAVAGE, EVIL AND BRILLIANCE
Review: A movie so far from lousy entertainment can change the way you looked at the war. Francis Ford Coppola, the master behind the Godfather Trilogy, brilliantly crafted this view of Vietnam and really did his job the way he was supposed to. He created something beyond what I'd ever expect to see in a film. Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall and Dennis Hopper all star in this most amazing epic. When I saw the film, all I could think about was how this film changed the way I looked at everything I saw in Platoon and Full Metal Jacket and other films of the same genre. Coppola is a genius and Apocolypse Now is one of the all time greatest films. Thank god AFI saw that.
