Summary: One for the collection
Review: What a sigh of relief I breathed after seeing this film for the first time! One of my childhood heroes had been reborn onto the extremely silver screen of the 1990s, and we'd both come through the experience unscathed! One wonders what to say about such cultural icons as Zorro himself. Perhaps one can only compliment the portrayal of the, in this case, Zorros, plural. In fact, getting more for your money (two for one), as it were, was one of the exciting bonuses of this film. Both the elder and the apprentice Zorro earned our admiration and respect (eventually) by living up to the mark in some indefinable way. The fact that the film blended such colourful action with the right amount of both pathos and humour, is another reason for its impact and, in my opinion, success. And of course, casting Catherine Zeta-Jones in such a role was an additional stroke of genius. This is a great film, one that should take pride of place in every collection. I'm still thinking about the film that could have been made: what a terrible risk to take! But what a payoff in the end! Great cinema.

Review: i liked the movie very much., the scenery appropiate,beautiful. the buildings, costumes, excellent! Antonio, i am now a fan. Catherine Zeta, she has old hollywood looks, and has the potential to excell in the industry for years to come. She is quite a good fencer,and it appears her lessons paid off. Anthony hopkinks, as usual, superb. L.Q.Jones; crusty and deralict, a bonus treat in the movie!

Review: The Mask of Zorro is a very enjoyable film. Anthony Hopkins is excellent as the old and aging Zorro. Banderas is good in the lead role, and the attractive Catherine Zeta-Jones is quite memorable in a supporting role. Arguably the most degrading fact about "Zorro" is through the whole film the awesome performance of Hopkins is always superior to the good but not great acting by Banderas. Hopkins is simply one of those ubiquitously talented British actors, who just knows how to go all out in a role. Banderas is good, but compared to Hopkins he still has a long way to go. The film is full of action and suspense, and is also quite funny at times. And the best parts are the dynamic sword fights. The Mask of Zorro is a fun and surprisingly clean film all should enjoy and get sword clashing Z's out of.

Review: There is nothing bad that can be said about The Mask of Zorro. When looking at it, this movie has everything: swashbuckling adventure, a plot that actually entertains as it enlightens, and a cast that works together to bring each aspect of this film to life. Antonio Banderas stars as a thief who is trained by the original Zorro, played by Anthony Hopkins. After succeeding in training Banderas, Hopkins ventures to find his stolen daughter, Elena, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. The plot moves along on a steady path, keeping the audience tense and entertained at the same time, an unusual success for a Hollywood cinematic event. Banderas and Zeta-Jones heat up the screen as one of the chemistry-laden couples since Casablanca and Gone With The Wind. Hopkins is always a joy to watch, able to quickly change from witty and dazzling to serious and sinister. To miss this movie is like missing a daily meal, so I recommend it to all people, old and young. This DVD hosts brilliant picture quality, excellently mastered Dolby soundtracks, a theatrical trailer, making of featurette, and a photo gallery. A must for DVD fans also.

Review: "The Mask of Zorro" is an expertly crafted, well made film. I like the old fashion aspect about the movie it makes it alot better. This film manages to stimulate, rouse, and entertain without insulting the intellegence of the person watching it. This film will be a classic. Highly reccomended.
