Summary: Well....
Review: I will seriously grant that Swordfish is a good movie, but it could have been better. In reading some of these reviews I see people either liked it, or they turned up their noses adn said it was too low-brow to be worth it. I just wish to say...People, get over yourselves. Swordfish was an interesting idea. Even a "thinking man" needs to stop thinking sometimes, and just let themselves go. The oopening scene and Travolta's monolouge are excellent, and it is the best use of the "Matrix" software since it was released. if you want Drama, rent Hamlet, if you want a "wild ride" movie....rent Swordfish.

Summary: A truly complex action movie character, for once
Review: Maybe I'm over-praising this movie because I wasn't really expecting much beyond an amiable time passer, but I really enjoyed "Swordfish". I especially liked the way it didn't so much avoid the usual action thriller components, but instead did them in new and fresh ways. For example, the explosion outside the bank at the start of the film was probably the most interesting and artful explosion I ever saw in a movie. I also liked how the bad guy really was, well... bad, but, then again... he wasn't. Okay, maybe the complexity of the moral questions here didn't reach epic proportions, but there was at least some genuine complexity as we got to know the Travolta character and had to ask ourselves if his means justified his ends. So, in short, this is a thoughtful, entertaining thriller, that even manages to be a bit sexy. There are lots of terrific extras on the DVD, too, including a few alternate endings that further demonstrate that director Dominic Sena picked exactly the right conclusion for the movie. By the way, this movie will REALLY rock if you have a big screen TV and a good surround-sound system.

Summary: This is why DVD players have "skip" buttons
Review: Let's not critisize this movie for being stupid, predictable, and borderline boring. Let's also not critisize my embarrassing inability to find a dictionary to check my spelling of the word "critisize". This is a glossy action movie that you buy on DVD and skip straight to the explosion, car chase, and Halle Berry scenes. Don't read those other reviews that rip this movie for it's unintelligent and mediocre script. You already know this movie (....). This is just a movie you put in when you want to impress your friends with your ground-shaking 500 watt home theatre system. Based on that alone, I'll give it 3 stars.

Summary: The truth about Swordfish
Review: Swordfish is not a gratuitous pornograhpy by any means. It is a graphic cyberthriller, not geared towards yuppie adults. Yes there are scene of adult content, but only one shot reveals anything and it is so brief its hardly worth the mention. However rightwing religious psychopaths wouldn't like the movie at all, to violent, yet within the realm of the possible, just barely. And the ending is great.

Summary: Halle Berry looks very good
Review: There is not much of redeeming value here; the movie's biggest shot is a huge explosion early in the show that, except for the bad guys, kills almost everyone else within range (including cops trying to save a female hostage). The main plot? Hacking the US government out of 9.5 billion bucks for the "antiterrorist" hero (antagonist?) played by John Travolta. If you pay taxes, you won't be amused...then the hacker played by Hugh Jackman "hacks" by playing with geometric images on a fancy computer screen. Is this what hacking means?
There are some good things beyond Halle Berry's naked chest; the actors played their one dimensional roles quite well. It takes some talent to make such roles believable to action fans. Travlota, Berry, Jackman and others did that well and I got through the show without daydreaming. 3 stars...

Summary: Not worth it!
Review: I saw this film in the theaters and really wish I could get my money back. This film was nothing but the producers and directors trying to blow-up as many things as they could. The dumbest scene in the whole movie is Travolta driving in the car, shooting everything up in his way. Don't bother with this one. Save your money and go get lunch.

Summary: Just dumb!
Review: "Swordfish" was just a stupid movie. The movie was just boring and you knew what was gonna happen. It was trying really hard to be something, but it ended up being nothing but a Matrix wanna-be special effects movie. It's just a waste of time.

Summary: SWORDFISH SINKS!
Review: This is a movie made for the chase scene crowd. It contains
gratuitous sex and is just plain dumb. Not for a thinking
person.

Summary: Nothing fishy here; just a good time!
Review: I saw this in the theaters and I was hooked from start to finish;it's John Travolta's soild comeback from the pits of his massive stinkbomb Battlefield Earth. Here he is the bad guy Gabriel who, with the help of his sorta-gal pal Ginger(Halle Berry),gets a burnt-out computer wiz Stanley Jobson(Hugh Jackson)to try to hack 10 million bucks from a goverment slush fund called Operation Swordfish. There alot of twists and turns in the plot to keep you guessing to the ending credits.Halle is really sexy in her role as Ginger(where's Gillagan?)and Hugh proves he's a rookie actor to be reckoned with. And action?Well, there tons of that, the standouts being the 360-pan explosion and a an airlifted transport bus flying through L.A. It's a bit far-fetched,but hey its only a movie! This film was directed by Dominic Sena, who also directed one of my favorite action flicks 2000's Gone In 60 Seconds!Swordfish makes a very satisfying addition to your DVD collection. [WARNING:There's some stuff that may be too disturbing for viewers still shakened by the 9-11 terrorist attacks, like using people as deadly bombs to demolish an a entire town.If you are,I suggest you pass this one up for awhile.]

Summary: Interesting movie
Review: I went and watched this movie when it came out. The special effects are kind of Matrix rip. After watching it I thought I should get a copy for my DVD collection. One big thing that I found rather unbeliveable is the speed at which he is able to hack. I am a Comp sci person and as far as I know its inhumanly impossible to do what he did especially under the very interesting circumstances at which he had to do it. For those who watched this film, will know what I am talking about.
If your willing to forgive and forget the little extrencities of this film it is worth watching, it has some interesting action sequences, rather ingenious if you ask me. Flying bus.
The DVD comes with some interesting features including a section where you have to come up with the passwords to gain access to some photos of all things. The DVDROM features have been done with Flash media. The DVD comes with the latest interactual dvd player for the PC.
All in all its a good addition to your DVD collection.

I did not give it more than 4 because the Case is a draw back , its a soft case and the tips break very easily.
