Summary: where anything seems possible, yet nothing is what is seems
Review: Labyrinth is, without a doubt, the best movie I've ever seen. What I love most about it, is that everything is different than what it initially appears. The story and everything in it, can be interpreted on many different levels.

On the surface it is about a young girl named Sarah (Connelly), who sees herself as a heroine in distress, and one night when she is fed up with babysitting her baby brother Toby, wishes the goblins to take him away. She then has make her way through a mystical labyrinth, and defeat the evil goblin king (Bowie) to get him back.

On a deeper level, there are many different plots of the story. One of them being how Sarah is a dreamer who creates the labyrinth in her imagination. Upon emerging from the labyrinth, she has learned a lesson, has grown up, and gives up her childlike dreams ready face the real world. Then at the end, she learns that it is still important to keep a part of her dreams with her, and not completely lose herself to the real world.

On another level,it is about Jareth (the goblin king) falling in love with Sarah, and trying to free himself from the basic story of good v.s. evil. At the beginning he is content to play the antagonist of the story, but at the end, he know longer wants to defeat Sarah, but wants her companionship. Throughout the film, he tries to pursade her to follow her dreams, and to choose her path between the stars, promising that she'll find his love, and that she can have a fairytale ending. He offers her, her dreams, and wants to destroy the basic denoument of good defeating evil. Yet at the same time, as he shows her her dreams in the ballroom scene, he twists them, making them more sinister, malicious. Sarah comes to realize that maybe her dreams aren't what they are made out to be. Maybe living in a fantasy world isn't such a good idea. And so, she chooses to live in the real world, and face her responsibilities.

Well that's about it...hope I didn't confuse you!

Summary: Memories come back
Review: I remeber watching Labyrinth when I was about 7. Back then it seemed like a mystrious movie that I could watch over and over again. I saw it and I loved it completely. Then I forogt about this movie for almost 8 years. Just recently, 5 days ago, I had strange memories come back. I couldn't quite recall the movie, but I talked to my friends and discribed the plot. Fortunaly, one of my friends knew just what I was talking about. My memories of the movie came back. I rented, and watched. It was like going back in time. The movie is amazing and I would recommend it to just about anyone. Whether you are a music fan or not, or you like fantasy or not, you will love Labyrith. So, if you get a chance, please take a peak at it.

Summary: Jim Henson and George Lucas Together, No way!!
Review: Probably one of the msot magical and wonderful stories out there has to Be Labyrinth. The tale of a young women who wishes her brother away and then msut journey through the land of the goblins to rescue him. With an incredible performance by David Bowe as the Goblin King this is a movie that everyone must own.

This movie took around three years to make if I am correct. The reason being is the fact that they ahd write a script, the large number of puppet's and characters, and the set design alone could of taken a helluva lot of time. However when the dust settled and it was all said and done, the team of Jim Henson and George Lucas produced a masterpiece.

This is one of my all time favorite childrens films. Reason being is that one fact, it is magical and phenominal. I know I didn't say much about the movie its self, but this is just one fo those you have to see to believe.

Summary: It's a wonderful film, though a tad bit too eighties
Review: Okay, I gotta say right off the bat, that even though I am an avid python fan, that's not why I loved this film. (the script was written by Terry Jones)I have loved this movie ever since I was a little kid. My parents introduced it to me at a young age. I was riveted by the...interesting Goblins and the creepy-cool storyline about a girl who unknowingly gives up her baby brother to the Goblins. When she finds out what has happened, it is up to her to save her brother from the Goblin King. But it won't be easy. To stop her, the Goblin King (David Bowie) sets before her a challenge. If she solves the Labyrinth (A giant maze where there are basically no rules) in nine hours, she gets her brother back. If not...well, let's just say that the Goblins will have a new family member. You'll be absolutely amazed by this film. Watch it with the whole family, you won't be dissapointed.

Summary: I love this film even more as an adult (m)
Review: I'll admit it- when I was 9 and I first saw the skinny red Fireys take off their heads and throw them into the air, I was frightened. Now, at 23, that scene still freaks me out. That said, I love this movie. I still think of David Bowie as "the guy from Labyrinth". This movie is fantasy at its best. What older sibling hasn't wished that their younger brother or sister would be taken away by a handsome Goblin king to a far off fantasy land? While I certainly do not think that the performance Jennifer Connelly (Sarah) gives in this movie is of "A Beautiful Mind" caliber, it still works. The cast of supporting (mostly puppet) characters is absolutely superb. Who could forget Hoggle the loveable misfit goblin, Ludo the gentle beast, Sir Didymus the brave or (my personal favorite) Ambrosias the cowardly "horse"? This movie fully deserves the "cult" following it has earned over the years.

Summary: Classic movie for children of the 80's
Review: I remember watching this when I was little in the 80's. They had it on at daycare and such. I recently started watching it again and I find it just genious. With the 21 century with all computer animation and special effects it's refreshing to see a movie like this. The puppets are so unique I even find some of them cute looking. It's a great story and David Bowie's in it. Even if you weren't a child of the 80's you should appreciate this movie and check it out.

Summary: Labyrinth?
Review: I'm afraid not. The path of this classic to your heart is short and direct. This fantastic Jim Henson production truly is an all time classic. One is never too old to watch this film and fall in love with its beautiful creature, adoreable monsters and cute goblins.

This film has it all - romance, fear, humor, music. Regardless of the actors' incredible performances, what makes this movie one of its kind it the amazing artwork and set designs. Keep in mind that this film was made back in the 80's, when computer animation was still a spoiled infant, and set designers had to do all the dirty work with their own bare hands. And what an amazing dirty work have they done here...

It's a must to all you Brian Froud treasurers, Jim Henson favorers, David Bowie fanatics and Jennifer Connely moon-strucks. Scenes will haunt you on end, the design will inspire, the music will never let go and the demons are with you to stay. *G*

Summary: Of a King with too much eye shadow...
Review: I saw this movie when I was 8, and I've never been so scared! Now I'm 13, and I love it! David Bowie is amazing as Jareth the Goblin King (tho his pants are too tight and he has too much eye shadow) and Jennifer Connelly does a really good job as Sarah. Some of the scenes look a little bit fake (The Fierys and when Sarah breaks the wall of the ballroom with a chair), but all in all it's a great movie, and you'll love the songs. Don't forget to watch the making of feature! :)

Summary: Amazing
Review: This is, without a shadow of doubt the most wonderful fantasy tale I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Whether your young or old, this tale will capture your heart instantly with its loveable characters and brilliant cast. Jennifer Connelly plays the part of a troubled teenager convincingly without being cheesey - a refreshing change!David Bowie - my first love, is, in my opinion the only person who could have played the part of the Goblin King. He portrays his part as cruel, but he is so very charming you cannot resist liking him. The fantastic costumes and wild colours wrap this film up into a delightful parcel - a definate must for any fantasy lovers!
The tale is simple but effective. Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) must fight her way through the terrific Labyrinth to save her baby brother for being turned into a goblin by the Goblin King, Jareth (Bowie). With the help of Hoggle, Ludo and a whole host of other amazing creatures makes this a tale of friendship, love and excitement!I leave you with one thing, 'Give back the child. Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered I have fought my here to the castle beyond the goblin city to take back the child that you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom is great. You have no power over me!'. Enjoy everyone, enjoy!*L
