Summary: WOW action salvages an unpleasant film
Review: I recently saw TERMINATOR 3, which I thought had the best vehicle pursuit sequences I'd seen lately. BAD BOYS II tops even that.

Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are partnered Miami cops looking to bust drug king Hector Tapia (Jordi Molla). Burnett's sister Sydney (Gabrielle Union) is an undercover agent down from the Big Apple as part of a concurrent (and secret from the MPD, of course) D.E.A operation. And unknown to Marcus, Mike and Sydney have A Thing going.

BAD BOYS II is too frequently mean and unpleasant. There's gratuitous gore, e.g. a can of freshly severed body parts and slo-mo shots of bullets hitting flesh. Nor does the bond between Mike and Marcus have the audience appeal of that between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the LETHAL WEAPON series, though I suspect the creators of BBII were hoping to achieve it. Indeed, after Marcus learns of his sister's affair with Lowrey, there's downright animosity. Moreover, scenes ostensibly supposed to be comic are instead cruel, as when our two heroes harass a teenage boy who's appeared on the Burnett doorstep for a first date with Marcus's teenage daughter. Lastly, the extreme action sequences are of a sort that obviously leave behind scores of dead and maimed innocent bystanders. Yet, this is never acknowledged beyond reference to twenty-three "totaled" vehicles after an eye-popping car chase on a bridge.

Award for Most Overacted Performance should perhaps go to Joe Pantoliano as police Captain Howard, who rides herd on our fearless duo's excesses. The role would have been better played straight by a grumpy Sam Elliott. Pantoliano is miscast, which compounds this excruciating mistake.

The movie's conclusion features a ludicrous collaborative operation involving the CIA, DEA, Coast Guard, and MPD. It's so silly that I was tempted to knock off another star, but pillorying Hollywood for improbability is like scolding politicians for insincerity.

Despite my disenchantment with the film's many shortcomings, I'm still awarding fours stars SOLELY because of the phenomenal action sequences, particularly the vehicle pursuits and shoot-em-ups. As a matter of fact, BAD BOYS II is, by those narrow standards, perhaps the best thriller of its type I've seen to date. This either means that it's actually pretty decent, or I need to get out more.

Summary: Part II looong overdue...
Review: If you're looking for an action movie to watch this summer, this is it! Loved all the fast-paced action, car chases, explosions and laughs brought to you by Martin Lawrence and Will Smith! The pair make a great duo! Add the gunshots to the dome and body parts making guest appearances and you get Bad Boys II!

I would have given the movie 4 stars if it ended when it was supposed to, but this movie went all out and had two stories, so basically, it's like you're watching two movies: trying to catch the money being laundered and trying to save the lady in distress. I think they should've stuck to one story cuz after the first story ended, I was satisfied and wanted to go home with a smile, but nooo, wait! It's not over yet. And even if the movie had two stories, the plot wasn't that creative, it's something we've seen in many movies already. Very predictable.

When was Bad Boys II supposed to come out? There were rumors running a year or two after the first movie came out that something was already in the works, but hey, it just came out now. I think this movie has been long overdue. But better late than never, I guess. To sum it up, I don't think it was a waste of [money], but it's not something I'm looking forward to adding to my DVD collection..

Summary: Bad Boys II. Review!
Review: While the original "Bad Boys" was one of my favorite films of 1995, this sequel does not deliver on all my expectations. As an action movie, it is an excellent roller-coaster ride but despite a handful of returning stars, this movie does not feel like its original and that kind of killed a bit for me.

None of the original musical scores by Mancina made it in here. God, I loved the first movies' score. Here, we've got a new score by Mancina with a little help from rap producer, Dr. Dre. You're not gonna find a bigger fan of Dre than me. He is my all-time favorite rap producer but that being said, his score, which I did love, just doesn't make up for the missing original theme. Imagine if they dropped Rocky's theme song in the second film?

The movie itself has a different feel. Lawrence and Smith are back as "shoot first, ask questions later" Miami cops, Burnett and Lowry. This time, they're going after exctasy dealers. You get plenty of car chases, comic hijinx, and bullets through heads, bodies, and even butt-cheeks. But damn if I still don't miss that original Bad Boys theme song.

This movie is worth checking out though it feels more like a new action film with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith than a sequel to Bad Boys.

Summary: Watcha Gonna Do When They Come For You!
Review: This movie is awesome! What a true summer blockbuster should be. It gives you thrills from beginning to end. No boring parts and no dumb parts. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are better then ever. This is the "Final Destination 2" of action flicks. I recommend seeing this in the movie theater and buying the DVD. Possibly the best movie in the summer. Much better then the first one. Get bad, watch Bad Boys II.

Summary: Better than the first
Review: This past Sunday I took my three boys (ages ranging 11-15) to see Bad Boys II, they have been watching Bad Boys all week preparing themselves. All I can say is action packed. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith make a great comedy and action duo. I especially like the highway chase and Gabrielle Union made a good addition to the team. I look forward to seeing Bad Boys III.

Summary: The Bad Boys Are Back!!!
Review: This is the most entertaining movie I've seen so far this summer. It runs over 2 hours. It is funny, filled with action, fashionable, bloody, gruesome, gross, and it has heart. It is indeed 'all that.' This move had the audience cracking up with laughter. I was in tears.

They may not remember the lyrics to their theme song but, they get the job done. The use of 'wasa' keeps the crazy crew of the Miami Police Department sane and centered. They must all have the same therapist. They fight the KKK, a gang of dreaded Haitians, Russioan drug dealers, and their ultimate foe: A Cuban druglord and his Mama.

The partners also fight themselves. They are on the verge of breaking up. There is mutual distrust. They constantly bicker. Marcus complains that Mike craves adrenalin and likes to shoot first. Mike complains that Marcus has lost his edge and cannot be counted on. They decide to put their differences aside when Marcus' little sister, a DEA agent, is kidnapped and smuggled to Cuba.

I recommend this movie to anyone over 18. There are scenes with explicit sex and not so subtle innuendo. There is drug use, explosions, car chases and shooting galore. This is a very funny and exciting movie. I enjoyed it more than 2F2F, Charlie's Angels II, T3 and the Italian Job combined. You must see this movie. I know I'll have to buy the DVD when it comes out.

Summary: A Gory, Bloodbath of An Action Movie..
Review: This is how a sequel is DONE! The 2 and a half hours I spent watching this long-awaited, epic followup to the 1995 hit was time well spent. Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have lost none of thier comic rapport and timing and the film as a whole is a lot more graphic and detailed than it's predecessor. While many critics have already found fault with the movie's length and violence, they seem to be missing the point; The world has gotten more violent and hateful in the last few years and making a sanitized, overly glossy film would have been an injustice to the audience. I say, if you're gonna come back, do it in a big way!

Summary: pretty good action movie
Review: Excellent car chases, and some pretty nice gunfights. Between the action scenes are the usual dialogues. Also this movie has a lot of similarity with the Rock. The motion censors, the humvee, the swat team coming out from the water, the helicop ride... maybe because of the same producer. Anyway, this movie rocks!
