Summary: Third Evil Dead good, but falls short of previous two.
Review: The third installment of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series was more of a comedy than anything else. It doesn't have the tight, one-room suspense of the others, and it's even a bit cheesier (impossibe? Aparently not!), but in the end it's worth seeing. Check out other horror reviews by me.

Summary: This..... is my BOOMSTICK!
Review: Besides "Blade Runner","Ghostbusters", and "A Clockwork Orange",this is one of the strangest movies I've ever seen. The DVD transfer is great. There is more humor than gore, but it's not a big deal to me. One of my favorite seens is when Ash( Bruce Campbell)is battling the action figure sized Ashes in the windmill. The only problem is that the deleted scenes are not in this version I have. I'm referring to the regular widescreen DVD version that I own. Even if this version doesn't have the deleted scenes, it's still a fun Halloween type movie. I hope there is going to be an Evil Dead 4.

Summary: The greatest cult-classic of all time!
Review: From the first time I saw this movie i was hooked. I love thismovie. It was nothing like i suspected, comic violence, horror andcomedy. Bruce Cambel is a riot with his awsome one-liners like "Come get some" and "Good guy bad guy, im the guy with the gun" This movie has it all.

Summary: Brilliant DVD. Loads of goodies, but bad transfer.
Review: I love this film, and I really looked forward to the Dir. cut. which I had never seen. Too bad about the transfer, but THE FANS of AOD will still appriciate it. Loads of goodies. Funny Docu. Great commentary. Bruce Cambell rocks. Buy Evil Dead I just for the commentary with Bruce.

Summary: Good movie, but director's cut was edited
Review: Was disappointed that both disks were edited to remove some of the nudity. Enjoyed the movie anyway, but did not like the alternate ending that was originally planned. I think the ending that was actually released with the movie was funnier.

Summary: Sam Raimy at his best. A comical and enticing movie
Review: From the very begining of the movie, it holds you into your seat. An outstanding comedic performance by Bruce Cambell. Special effects are really interesting. An instant colt-classic by director Sam Raimy

Summary: About the quality of the Director's Cut...
Review: I had seen the director's cut form a VHS transfer of the Singapore Laserdisc, but as mentioned by others, the Director's version lacks remastering. However, In a recent article, Bruce Campbell himself mentioned that the only copy of the director's version they could find was a print Campbell has stashed away...but it's good to see the deleted stuff redited back in and the commentary by Campbell and Raimi make the Director's cut worth the cost of the 2 disc set.

Summary: Great new footage, poor quality transfer for dvd
Review: I am a huge fan of Army of Darkness, own it on VHS, Laserdisc, and even own the Japanese Laser disc entitled Captain Supermarket. I was hoping that this new dvd version would have all the footage plus more then the versions of the movie that I own, it does. There are still scenes missing though, ones that were on the TV version that was played on USA network. This was not as much as a problem as the quality of the video, the whole windmill scene on the director's cut with the little Ashes was bad, it looked like a bad copy of the video version. This was the worst part, but I also noticed it in several other parts of the movie on both discs of the set. It just looks like no effort was made to improve the film for the dvd format. I would even go as far to say that the laserdisc version looks better then the dvd version. Of the two discs, the original theatrical disc had better picture quality. So, if you are a die hard AOD fan, you will have to buy this set, but if you are just a fan of the movie and are expecting to see some real dvd quality improvements in the movie, you are going to be disappointed.

Summary: FINISH THE JOB FOR ME!!!!!!!!!
Review: I just purchased the double dvd deal they had, broke it open, was mad-excited and all of that...threw on the original realese disc.It was bomb!Sounded perfect, looked great, whatever right...but the problem i had with this dvd is that the real disc i was looking to worship was the directors cut and they neglected on digitally remastering that damn one.Let me tell you the quality sucked to say the least.I was very disapointed, that was the only version i friggin cared about!!And it looked like a bootleg vhs tape no joke.Don't get me wrong it had all the deleted scenes and original ending but it looked pitiful. As you can read i was upset to say the least.Hey i guess i expected too much but i just wanted the full expierence you know...All in all i really did enjoy it and when it comes down to it i'll pop the directors cut on for me to enjoy.SO are you waiting to see if i tell you to get it....?????????????????????????????????????? Yeah snatch that mutha up and enjoy it.Great original ending Ash finally pays for his ignorance.Hey i'm out of here till next time...love ya anissa/jada/jazmin---------Eddie R.------

Summary: Everything A Movie Should Be!
Review: One doesn't realize the impact "Army of Darkness" has had on popular culture until you look around a bit. Ash, played wonderfully by Bruce Campbell, is surely the inspiration for many wise-cracking video game heroes from Duke Nuke'Em to Lara Croft. "Army of Darkness" Special Edition had to work to win me over, as I already owned the first widescreen released long ago. This disc set does not disappoint. The Director's Cut is an interesting look into the editing process and the alternate ending is quite different but funny. This film is a cult classic, and will probably be so for all time.
