Summary: Lots of thrills
Review: Ok, the lines are cheesy, no one can deny that, and the romantic picks up lines used by Bond are actually quite nauseating!Though there are more witty plays on words like the name of the island where Cuban doctors' harvest stolen human organs-Isla Los Organos. Having said that there is plenty of fun and thrilling action. The North Koreans and Red Chinese make such perfect villains (because they are in reality total villains (even if it is no longer politically correct in the sad post-cold war era to recognize that reality).
Pierce Brosnan plays the role of James bond with great panache.
I thought Haile Berry was incredibly sexy and thrilling in her role as American agent, Jinx you would think butter wouldn't melt in her mouth), as was the gorgeous fencer Rosamund Pike as the treacherous Miranda Frost.
John Cleese and Judy Dench are great as M and Q respectively. Then of course there are all the gadgets and the exotic locales like the Ice Palace in Iceland. A lot of Bond filled fun. I enjoyed it , especially seeing those North Korean Stalinists get chopped up.
That's why the movie was banned in that prison camp state-which makes it worthwhile seeing for that reason alone.

Review: Well,Bond is back and...Better than ever?Well,not exactly,but hes back in a good way.This is a action packed film that most fans of James Bond movies will probably dig.'Die Another Day' is not the best Bond movie,and its far from perfect.Some of the storyline could have been improved.However,like I meantioned,theres alot of action to keep you excited at least.I woulden't recomend buying this movie though.Its more like a rental.Its not a classic - far from it.But what is it then?A decent action movie.So,go ahead and rent this to enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed.Oh yeah,and don't forget the popcorn,okay?

Summary: The usual Bond fun
Review: This movie definitely has some things going for it. First of all, unlike in virturally every other Bond movie, Bond does NOT escape at the end of the opening sequence. Secondly, the gritty scenes that follow during the title credits are compelling and perfectly matched by Madonna's techno-like theme song. Third, there's a great, cartoon-like villian: the accident that causes diamonds to be permanently etched in his face is on par with the accident that gives Batman's Joker his grotesque appearance. Plus, as with all Bond films, there are gripping action sequences, cool cars and other vehicles (nothing's cooler than a hovercraft!), and a few great one-liners. That being said however, I couldn't find much else to like about this film. Given all of the hoopla which surrounded Halle Berry and the fact that her character will be in a spinoff, I was expecting a great performance, but her acting was only average, and the Jinx character was really no different than any other Bond girl. I also found that the movie's main villian, Gustav Graves, was not all that villianous at all; I kept picturing him saying "old sport" (the actor also played Jay Gatsby in a TV movie). Furthermore, the "DNA replacement" premise was pretty far-fetched, even for a Bond film. This movie was just too unbelievable and too unoriginal to be all that enjoyable; Pierce Brosnan deserves better material than this.

Summary: An innovative production...
Review: Die Another Day continues the generally high standard of the legendary 007 series, and proves that the character continues to have fresh life for the new millennium. The technical production of the film was notable for some unique artistic innovations in that its opening title sequence was an integral part of the story and open to some crucial interpretation. A virtually unknown actress known simply as ¡°Tymarah¡± played the uniformed "Korean scorpion guard" during Bond's torture scenes that were intertwined with the computer-generated graphics of the fire/ice women during the film¡¯s opening title sequence mastered by Dannny Kleinman. One of the most intriguing and most beautiful villainesses of the series, the mysterious Tymarah did not have a speaking role in DAD, but she apparently had an important impact on Bond. There were some hints that she may have had more than a dominatrix relationship with him (Bond obviously wasn't in all that bad of physical and mental shape after over a year's worth of torture). During the theme music and the computer generated graphics there appeared to be more than just pain occurring between Bond and the "Scorpion girl" (who presumably was also the ¡°Korean scorpion guard¡± of the credits). Also, in the scene where Bond was being lectured by the old North Korean general before his release from prison, Tymarah and Bond exchange various knowing glances. It is disappointing that there were no official photos of her released as there were of Zena Marshall as "Miss Taro" in Dr. No. Amazingly, Madonna¡¯s techno-pop theme almost perfectly matched the title sequence, perhaps the best sequence of any Bond film since You Only Live Twice¡¯s artistic classic with its haunting theme song performed by Nancy Sinatra (and recently reprised in an yet unreleased version by Bjork).

Summary: the bond mythos
Review: it will be a day of renown in this country, nay this world, when people don't automatically turn off their brains when they hear, "bond, james bond." the first few bond films were humorous, albeit often times unintentionally, and the new shtick of gadgets and pretty women had yet to be explored. but the genre has now been overloaded and our everyday lives bombarded with sexy women holding, fondling, admiring, and otherwise subliminally messaging "little whangdoodles". bond does not equal good and hasn't for some time. the acting is average. the dialogue would be laughable if it weren't so hackneyed and horrific (even for a spy film...even for a bond film). the stunts are repetetive and regurgitated as well as often being disruptive to the flow of the film. was there a plot? if so, it was completely threadbare and sounded like it had been written by a group of ten year olds high on kool-aid and pop tarts. if you don't have the entire plot figured out 15 minutes into the movie then...well, as i said, you need to turn your brain back on. if it were possible to rate this (i hate to use the word here, somehow it doesn't seem to qualify) "movie" lower than 1 star, i would have.

Summary: Only Halle Barry makes this flick worthwhile.
Review: This is probably one of the weakest attempts at an Ian Fleming theme. I kept thinking , "If only Bond could have been enrolled in marksmanship classes this movie would have taken 5 minutes to reach a conclusion." Meanwhile, you have Halle Barry for eye candy so it does have some redeeming qualities but is not my favorite James Bond attempt - give me Sean Connery any day! Even Hugh Grant would have been more believable than Pierce Brosden. For collector maybe but not notable as an action flick and is definately lacking in plot.

Summary: Worst Brosnan Bond Film- but that's not saying it's that bad
Review: The latest in the very long-running bond series, Die Another Day introduces us once again to Bond (Brosnan) and his new girl Jinx (Halle Berry), as they try to chase a diamond mogul and his genetically - altered henchman and stop them from usurping the situation in Korea by using a gigantic satellite known as the Icarus that can be pinpointed to anywhere on earth and neutralize it.
Does this all sound familiar? Of course it does - it's a Bond film. But the plot reacurrences surely don't matter -what matters is that is this Bond film fresh, fast and funny enough to be called a classic Bond? Sadly, no - in fact, it can't even be called one of the better additions to the series. Out of the recent Bond films (think Goldeneye, Tommorow never dies and the world is not enough), this is the worst by a good margin.
It has appallingly conceived, absurd and badly acted villians- they are ridiculous even for a Bond movie. Diamonds in his face? An electric suit? Give me Oddjob any day. I can't say how thoroughly bad they are - perhaps after 20 films they are running out of ideas. Bond himself is as suave and sophisticated as ever - but he seems to be going through the motions in this one, and it's not fun. The title song, performed by Madonna, is simply awful. Some of the action in this seems just absurd and stupid - even for a Bond film. If you look carefully too, you see some effects that you just wouldn't expect in this production. The scene where Bond is dropping off the side of the cliff in the superpowered ice skater looks really ropey. Or the bit where Jinx jumps into the sea, or where Bond is paragliding/surfing halfway through the film- there are a few examples of Bad effects.
So why 3 stars? Well, Halle Berry is a great Bond girl. There are some terrific action sequences - for example, the car chase on ice. There are lots of cool gadgets in this one - a must for any good Bond movie. It has a sweet car - the Aston Martin Vanquish. The opening skit with the Hovercrafts is just cool. The DVD has buckets of extras.
So it fulfills some requirements for a great Bond movie - and fails miserably on others. It's no Goldfinger, but it's not Moonraker either.
My advice is to see Die Another Day - it's not a classic Bond, but it's worth watching.

Summary: a little unrealistic, even for a bond movie
Review: Every time another Bond movie comes out, I have to see it at least once. They are always worth watching the first time around. Pierce Brosnan (in my opinion) is the best J.B. ive seen. In the beginning of the film, we see him surfing enormous waves, then we see him beat a fencing expert at his own game, and of course, he lays every girl he sets his sights on. Does this man have any flaws? Any weaknesses that any of us can relate to? No. But thats okay, because the J.B. character was never designed that way, he is what every man wants to be. That is the way it has been since the franchise began, and this movie served that purpose well. The action scenes are flat out spectacular and the villians are just as creative and devious as ever. My biggest problem was that all of the gadgets and technology seemed a little too unrealistic, even for a Bond movie, not to mention a slight disregard for the laws of physics. If Bond were made a bit more vulnerable and the outrageous technology were toned down a bit, I would have given it a higher score, other than that, it is an entertaining flick, and a worthy addition to the James Bond genre.

Summary: good 007 flick
Review: In terms of Bond flicks, this is one of the better ones of recent years. It is, however, far from perfect. Some of the action scenes stretch believability, even for the 007 series. And, frankly, the movie is much more captivating in setup than in delivery. Still, there is a lot of fun to be had here if you are a Bond fan. The DVd looks and sounds great, and -- as always -- there is good documentary metrial on how it was all put together. The commentary tracks are good; Brosnan comes off as especially likeable.
