Summary: This is NOT Bond
Review: Geez, Pierce Brosnan makes Roger Moore look like he was a good James Bond.
This is nothing more than flashy action with a good-looking babe and Brosnan trying to be something he's not.
(This is about the only time you'll see Halle Berry with a white guy with that kind of accent.)
Pierce Brosnan is the kind of guy they'd cast in Batman 8... return of the Penguin's mother.

Summary: Wow.
Review: The creative action is tremendous. Brosnan is a great Bond. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is a story I had trouble following. Also, Bond is actually captured in this one. In the Fleming books, he was captured and tortured in two books, including the second book. They made 20 movies before bond is captured and tortured.

Summary: Pierce and Halley, the best Bond match ever
Review: Incredible movie. I have only listened to the first hour of Pierce's commentary. Semi-humorous. As a bond movie, though, this may be the best of Brosnan's films. Lots of great settings, interesting story (an actual story). Great action sequences. The packaging is excellent. It is a double-dvd set full of extras. Two sets of commentary tracks. It is a worthy addition to any collection.

Summary: Quite a bubble you've got around you, James
Review: The movie is preposterous and playful -- really a perfect Nuevo Bond film. [The best Bond films were realistic, but that trend disappeared. Even the very gritty "From Russia with Love", had super-silly scenes (the gypsy girl fight and the boat chase). Those scenes have taken over this movie, but have formed an interesting fantasy bubble of their own: free of plot and as entertaining as a danger carnival.] That said, I have to complain about the use of "ramps", MTV-inspired, editor-introduced changes of film speed, as described by the editor in the DVD interview. The ramps reduce a -huge- effort, a crazy car chase on really thin ice, to something that looks like a video game. I thought the scene was computer-generated -- because of the ramps! I'm -so- happy this DVD had a documentary on the making of the ice sequence ... what an effort, and what beautiful filming was ruined by the editor!

Summary: The Biggest Bond, But Not The Best
Review: "Die Another Day" is the 20th bond film, and because of that, they wanted to make it even bigger, and better than the other Bond films. They got Halle Berry to play the newest Bond girl, and gave the film a bugget of over 120 million dollars. The gamble worked, because the movie quickly became the highest grossing Bond film ever, proving that after 40 years, 007 has still got it! Although, I enjoy watching the film, the special effects, did not make the film better. And it is not the best James Bond film ever. Here are some of my problems with the film. Halle Berry, is an actress who I have a lot of respect for. She's had to over come a lot in life, and usually gives very good acting performance's. However, her character Jinx, is nothing special. Her acting is no that great, I mean, she usually does better, (that doesn't mean I didn't like her in the role, but I thought she could have done better). But at the same time, Berry was not given much to work with. Jinx does not have a huge speaking role, and when she does talk, it's usually to say some kind of dirty joke. It also feels like they just got Halle Berry to play the part, so that they could put her in some small bathing suits. Also, people keep saying that she's the strongest, most independent Bond girl ever, and although Jinx may be a spy, there have been other's who kicked more [rear-end]than her. Miranda Frost, on the other hand, (played by newcomer, Rosamund Pike) is played very well. Her character has better interaction's with Bond, and has a much better story, than Jinx, in general. The other problem with the film, is that it doesn't have the same feel as other Bond movies. Which, I guess could be considered a good thing (depending on what you think of the rest of them). I believe, that there were too many, (hard too believe it could actually happen) moments in the film. This is true of most Bond movies, but the special effects just makes you think it even more. With all that being said, this is still another fun 007 movie, that features a fun story, memorable characters (great bad guys), and some great action scenes. And although I have my issues with Jinx, she is still a fun character, and is one of the better Bond girls. The opening credit's, with Madonna's "Die Another Day" song, have a new twist to them. Instead of just showing woman dancing around, they show image's of what happened to Bond during the 14 months between the opening scene, and the after opening credits scenes. Moneypenny, is back, and has a rather interesting moment with Bond, and John Cleese, takes over as the new Q. It's a fun film that all Bond fan's will enjoy. The special features are pretty good as well. This two disc set, includes over an hour of behind the scenes footage, commentary by actors, and director, Madonna's music video, and other fun stuff. Any fan of the series will probably enjoy the new twist's and turns, that "Die Another Day" has to offer.

Summary: Die Another Day everyday!
Review: It's the worst thing that could possibly happen to a virtually immortal character like 007. James Bond has been captured and tortured by the North Koreans for fourteen months! He is eventually traded by the government for the release of a terrible terrorist, whose face was disfigured by Bond's previous encounter with him. Enraged by this transaction, M strips Bond of his license to kill (again), so Bond decides to go solo and kill the freed terrorist. But Bond soon discovers a greater plot that could tip the balance of power in Korea... Like any old Bond film, there's plenty of action, exotic locations, and pretty girls about. But what makes this film so great is its contemporary style and advanced special effects. From an invisible car to smashing glaciers, there's no Bond film that has such sophisticated effects as these. The movie's storyline not wholly unique, as it incorporates aspects from previous films such as "License to Kill" and "Diamonds are Forever". But the characters are quite unique, and include a girl who's a lot like Bond himself, a disfigured terrorist with a face studded with diamonds, and a wealthy knighted entrepeneuer who's not all he seems (this guy comments that he never gets furious, but then as he duels with Bond, becomes enraged!). The film is generally entertaining. I wouldn't say that it's the best Bond, despite its advanced effects and interesting characters, but it's worth seeing.

Summary: Cheesy bad
Review: This has got to be the worst James Bond I have ever seen. The whole plot is cheesy and so is the horrible acting from both Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry.
The whole sun machine thing was a little too Austin Powers. The stunts were also over the top. Racing the chinese dude with the stupid diamonds in his face through the hotel trying to save Halle and the rocket ship car thing outrunning the sun was ludicrous.
This is a big doo doo stinker of a movie. If you gave it more than 2 stars then...I guess...Well I don't know what to think except you wasted your money and the boogey man will come and get you.

Summary: Die Another Day
Review: DAD is the second worst Bond film of all time ranking just ahead of The World Is Not Enough. I won't go to far into how unoriginal it was, (taking scenes from other Bond movies and putting them together to make one bad movie), but Pierce Brosnan's performance was territble. Now don't get me wrong I like Pierce, but he's just not James Bond. He in no way resembles Ian Flemings character, not the way all of his successors did. It is time for Pierce to step down and hand the role over to somebody like Adrian Paul. Also the movies in general need a lot. James Bond is a Spy not a superhero, he has to stop saving the world all the time and start acting like a Spy. The new movies, which started with Goldeneye, are victimes of too much action not enough suspense. Up until Goldeneye the James Bond series was a Spy Drama, now suddelny its a pointless USA original action Flick. Ian Flemming is probably turning over in his grave watching what has become of his creation.

Summary: Another great Bond film...
Review: Brosnan just might be the best Bond after Connery. He hasn't made a bad one yet, and "Die Another Day" is no exception. While not his best one, (that was "Goldeneye," his first) "Die Another Day" is definitely his biggest. The first hour is the best, with Bond getting captured by Koreans and tortured for over a year. Then when he's released, he's disowned by MI6 and must clear his name. Now, Bond wants revenge on whoever betrayed him, as well as diamond-faced Zao. His trail leads him to Gustav Graves, an adventurous rich boy who never sleeps, and isn't who he seems to be. The second hour has the feel of the better Roger Moore movies and is loaded with action and even a little comedy. Sadly, this second half isn't as good as the first and this keeps the film from being perfect. Brosnan is great as Bond and feels more comfortable in the role here as ever. Halle Berry is Jinx, an American agent working on the same case. She's a great love interest for Bond and would be great in a possible spin-off, but that's what they said about Michelle Yeoh in "Tomorrow Never Dies." "Die Another Day" is very good and even though it can be a little ridiculous at times, it's a lot of fun.
