Rating: Summary: The Affair of 1999 Review: The movie was wonderful. Pierce and Renee are a hot item on screen together. The soundtrack is sexy and exciting.
Rating: Summary: Same same same same Review: OK, I thought this would be more of an action movie... ITS NOT! It is quite OK but the story unfolds slowly and there is no action what so ever. Its one of those movies you dont have to concentrate to watch... just relax have a beer and enjoy. The quality of the DVD is very good.
Rating: Summary: Smart and sexy, shaken not stirred Review: Sexy, smart and brilliant. This movie has something for everyone. Action, romance, suspense. The cat and mouse chase between Brosnan and Russo is timeless, and thier both cool as cucumbers. I dont think i've ever seen a movie where the music fits as well as it does with the whats going on in the movie. This is a must see.
Rating: Summary: Good Movie... Nothing more. Review: It's a good movie. A nice waste of 2 hours. Nothing more. In other words,it isn't earthshaking, it isn't the greatest actioner or romance or comedy or whatever, but it is well done and it entertains. It is a nice piece of candy, sweet but not filling nor is it meant to be.
Rating: Summary: Take me to the Marmottan instead Review: Monet's Impression, Sunrise hangs in the Musee Marmottan in Paris, far from the idiocies of this film. Brosnan hits his marks providing the viewer with a spot on parody of James Bond without his Walther PPK. Everyone seems bored in this movie, the school kids at the Metropolitan Museum where the action takes place, the cops who'd rather be shaking down wife beaters, and of course Miss Russo who looks like she wants to be anywhere else. If you want a good museum heist story stick with Topkapi. This movies is as predictable as the Met's closing time.
Rating: Summary: Great. Compelling. Sexy. Mysterious. Fun. Review: I thought this was a classic movie! It had all the events of a good movie. Romance.. Suspense.. Sex... A very tiny bit of action... and a fun mystery.
Rating: Summary: Can you say "caliente?" Review: The "bare essentials": Good direction, a couple of inspired performances that'll make sparks fly from your tv set, and a good twist on a familiar story. I'm not a Brosnon fan, but I gotta say he was the epitome of coolness. Rene Russo was simply too hot to handle. I haven't seen this kind of electricity on screen since Nicholson & Lange in The Postman Always Rings Twice.
Rating: Summary: A must see and own Classic Review: The Thomas Crown Affair 1999 isn't a homage to the original but it stands alone as a classic IMHO. Boys and their Toys (The Catamaran, Biz Jet and Cars) the story line is great and with the bonus commentary from John McTiernan it fills in the missing pieces and gives you an idea how and why the shots and storyline fit.I've now seen it 10 times and I don't think I'll ever get bored with it.
Rating: Summary: Pales by comparison Review: Save your time and money. There's only one Thomas Crown, and you can see him in the 1968 version. That film was a classic; this one is just a Hollywood movie. The first was tight and edgy; this one is slow and sloppy. Brosnon is still playing Bond; Russo looks middle aged and bored. So was I.
Rating: Summary: Girls Go Crazy Review: "Ever had one of those days" sang Elvis, and thats exactly how I felt when I went to see this film. Taking two beautiful girls to the Virgin cinema in my BMW, I sat thorugh what was to be honest, a very good film, Not a patch on the Original, but good. I then had to put up with the girls swooning over Pierce Brosnan's Arse, then afterwards put up with them comparing my body unfavourably to his! More than a man can bear. But relax fellas, I had the last laugh... I can act!
