Summary: Wow!
Review: This is a truly great movie! The only bad reviews are because people misunderstood this movie! Patton used a lot of bad language. That's the way he was. And Patton WAS a jerk. Period. He didn't change at all! That's the point of the movie. So, this movie is great, but some people misunderstand it.

Summary: The greatest movie of all time!~
Review: This movie shows the epic that was General George S. Patton Jr. He was more then a man, he was a leader of unparralled proportions and could have won the war 2 full years earlier if he had been given free reign!@ Patton should have been Supreme Commander!

Summary: An epic American War movie , a classic. Scott is Fantastic!
Review: An epic War movie that Hollywood alwyas wanted to make but never had the guts. Scott plays the rebel General Patton. His performance has never been matched. 5 Stars!

Summary: Strong testament to a General and a generation of Americans
Review: This movie is not too caustic for kids to see. War is hell and Patton was the leader to get us through it. Kids hear much worse language with much less of a message. Patton shows a complex man driven by echos of fargone battles; his spirit is truly American, at once charming and bitter, humorous and insidious. You'll love the movie and the man after seeing this film. The cinematography and soundtrack do justice to the grand conquest to save Western Civilization. To quote the General: "God help me I love it".

Summary: I rated five stars because that what Patton should have been
Review: This was a great movie, if you want to see a great World War2 movie, buy this one. Its got all aspects of a great movie. Its got action, drama, and suspense. I have to rate it as a top five on the top five World War2 movies, these include: 1. Patton 2. Flying Tigers 3. Toro Toro Toro 4. Saving Private Ryan 5. Mephis Belle

Its great, one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you like the movie and want more check out the movie, The Final Days of Patton. I think thats the title or its somthing to that nature.

Summary: Brilliant masterpiece, although let's consider a remake.....
Review: In order to please the gentleman from Florida, let's make a warm-and-fuzzy update of "Patton" in order to satisfy his G-rated sensibilities. Hey, let's childproof the world so all movies about war have squeaky clean generals, bloodless deaths, picnics and frisbee-tossing in the midst of battle, and butterflies and kittens roaming the countryside. Listen folks, this film is a wonder to behold and I hope none of you will be swayed by some nitwit who believes the only purpose of film is to reinforce our narrow-minded sense of morality. War is HELL, Mr. Florida, not a romp through the park. Protect your kids on your own time, not mine; leave the movies ALONE.

Summary: THE best thing to come out of the '70's!!
Review: This film has achieved legendary status. I'd put this film up against any modern day war movie with the special effects and high budget sets any day. This movie comes out on top in my book. This is a great war movie made by great actors and great screenplay, well before the days of Industrial Light and Magic.

Summary: Scott is brilliant
Review: "Patton" is one of my favorite movies of all time. I once watched it three times in the same day, I love it so much. What makes this movie more than just another war movie is George C. Scott. His Patton is so engrossing that you cannot take your eyes off him. The performance shows ego unleashed and unchecked by any bonds of modesty or conscience. While I certainly wouldn't like the man that is portrayed, you get an understanding of him that is more complete than any charachter in any other movie. This is the fully realized man, both monster and hero at the same time. Only Scott could have given this performance, and without him the movie would have been decent at best. With Scott, this should easily make everyone's top 100 list--despite the fact that ranking movies is idiocy itself. As I implied, it is the single most dynamic and engaging performance I have ever seen, or will ever see.

Summary: One of the Best War Movies Ever Made!
Review: Simply stated, this film is an excellent portrait of my favorite military hero of all time, as played by one of my favorite actors of all time. Every American can get something out of this epic story. For those who are film buffs, it is an exceptional film -- one of AFI's top 100, and Scott's acting was first rate. If you love perfection in detail in film, its military advisor was General of the Armies Omar Nelson Bradley (General Patton's former commander), whose input proved invaluable as this film was one of the most accurate war films to that date. If you lean towards anti-war sentiments, you will see the distructive nature of war and the ferocity of its leaders, but you will also (hopefully) gain a new found respect for America's war heroes -- all of them, and the price they paid for you and me. George C. Scott, who died on Wednesday, September 22, 1999, leaves us this lasting memory of his best work. As many already know, he won the Academy Award, and yet refused to accept it, condemning the awards ceremonies as superficial "meat parades," having no bearing on real acting ability. Patton, above most others, proves that Scott did not need awards to show that he knew his precious trade better than most others of his era.

Summary: Great Movie, needs to be used for History Lesson
Review: Patton was a complex man and no one but George C. Scott could have pulled off the portrayl of Patton like he did. I think that people who have never studied History should watch this movie and see that war is not glorious but a dirty, bloody business. The George Patton Jr. that the public saw was not the Patton that his family knew, he was more complicated than that. The movies has some dirty language, but that was the character of Patton. He felt that the shock factor of his dirty language was important. It is a great movie and should be rated higher than 89 of the best 100 movies, it should be in the top 10
