Summary: Terrific!
Review: "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" is a very enjoyable, and exciteing, fantasy movie to watch. I saw this movie three times in theaters because I liked it so much. There is a lot of action, adventure, and good drama in "The Two Towers". The musical (score) was great and the acting was very well-done. The Battle for Helms Deep was awsome and the terrible Gollum creature, and marching armies, looked realistic because of the spectacular visual effects! "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" is even better than its great prequel "The Fellowship of the Ring".

Summary: Remember last year? Order with caution!
Review: Look, the movie's great, but remember what happened last
year with LotR: FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING! There was one
release in the summer, with some extras, and a Christmas
release of a deluxe edition with audio commentaries and
other desirable features.

Order if you must, but be prepared for a much more
feature-packed DVD to appear in a few months.
If I need to see THE TWO TOWERS before then,
I'll rent.

Summary: Best Movie Ever!!
Review: All I need to say is WOW! Could have not asked for a better movie. It is (hard to beleive) better than the first one! It was worth waiting in line for 3 hours for. Can't wait for the next one!

Summary: A dose of reality
Review: First of all, I don't think Tolkien would have been happy with the Two Towers. It is basically a Hollywood swashbuckler. Let's look at the substantial changes in the plot. First, Aragorn did not fall over a cliff and have some quasi sexual fantasy about Arwen. Clearly a ploy to create some love interest. Let's face it, Arwen barely shows up in the books at all (except for a brief bit in the first and at the end of the third.) Then we have Eowyn. First of all, she never went to Helm's deep. She had a far more important job of protecting all of the weaker citizens at another location. And Aragorn NEVER made eyes at her. He never renounced his love of Arwen, he never denied his heritage, and he was never such a git. The only doubts he had was whether he would be able to overcome the tremedous odds.
One of my biggest peeves is the assination of Faramir's character. Faramir NEVER wanted to bring the ring to his father. He was far wiser then his brother (often compared to Gandalf and the men of Numenor) and immediately recognized the threat the ring presented.
The Ents were also not as clueless as protrayed in the movie.
While I admire the movie for its cinematography, I believe that the definitive LOTR has yet to be made.
And yes I know the flaming that this review will engender.

Summary: Disappointment
Review: I really wanted to like this movie. I love the first one, and I love the books. But one of the reasons the first movie was so good was because it followed the book so well, while still eliminating unnecessary parts and with few additions. It's hard to believe the second and first movies were made at the same time. Two Towers has pretty much the whole story rewritten! And the saying, "If it's not broken don't fix it" holds true. the movie becomes boring, with repetitive and pointless action sequences that were apparently added for the purpose of making it more engaging. Peter Jackson really likes the fake death sequences, unfortunately who can only have so many of those without destroying the fantasy created for the audience. I just hope Return of the King gets justice.

Summary: The most inadequate movie I've seen this year...
Review: This movie was ok... The fight was great... but one thing leaves me uneasy. THIS MOVIE DOES NOT PROGRESS FROM THE FIRST ONE! Frodo and Sam are still trying to get to the tower... The other hobbits are still lost in the woods... and the armies of the eye almighty is still being built... through in a few trees and you have the two towers... if you just watch the first LotR and the third... you wouldn't miss a thing.. If you'd like to see good fight scenes go see it... other then that just skip this...

Summary: No Words...
Review: I said 5 *s because it deserves it; the only flaw: NOT ENOUGH OF FRODO(my precious) AND SAM(my other precious[what can I say, they are Ring-bearers ])!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also thought it would've been better if it were longer (sigh, 3 hrs so)-still 7 chapters' worth of material left... Oh, well, Return of the King is coming fast (not fast enough, though)...be ready... My advice concerning RotK--close your eyes near the beginning of you are afraid of spiders (and of Frodo getting hurt), it's worse than Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, spiderwise (my opinion)...

Summary: Massacre of the book!!?!??!
Review: As may of the other reviewers have said: it is a great film, definatly one of the best ever films, Gollum was brillaint, all the characters suit there actors/actresses and the special effects are quality. However they have massacred the book. Ive made a little list :p - they got treebeard and the ents totally wrong, missed out erkenbrand coming with gandalf to helms deeps aid, the hourns as helms deep are missing, gandalf and theoden going to isengard and the palantir, the whole shelob episode, they got faramir totally wrong, added a stupid osgilliath bit and i also thought the return of gandalf was wrong. If you want a brilliant lord of the rings abridged story get the BBC Audio Lord of the Rings as i have bin addicted for the last 16 years and the Gollums voices is the best ive ever heard!!!! hope u find this helpful

Summary: This will probably be the greatest trilogy ever filmed
Review: Great movie, great visuals, and the battle at Helm's Deep is spectacular. My only complaint is Peter Jackson's straying from the book, which becomes more pronounced here than in "The Fellowship of the Ring." In the book, the people of Rohan are noble and great warriors. In the movie, they're essentially some mopey wimps, who fight because they have to, and aren't really that good at it. This is sad, because the book really establishes them as major and important characters to the story line, especially Theoden and Eomer, but they're really relegated to minor characters in the movie. A pity.

Summary: "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy Just Keeps Getting Better
Review: I thought that "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" would be the best action/adventure/fantasy movie ever. But I was wrong when I saw its amazing sequel "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". Like most movie sequels I thought that "The Two Towers" would be an average, or bad, movie before I saw it. But I was very wrong. "The Two Towers" is even better than its brilliant prequel "The Fellowship of the Ring"! "The Two Towers" is a masterpeice, a great epic, and one of the best movie sequels ever! This movie has great visual effects, a spectacular musical (score), and wonderful acting to offer. There is a lot of action, adventure, drama, and excitement in "The Two Towers". Though all of those great things were in "The Fellowship of the Ring" they are even better in "The Two Towers". Like its prequel this movie has a lot of fantasy characters in it. There are orcs, phantoms, elves, wizards, hobbits (halflings), and more fantasy characters in "The Two Towers". Now I cannot wait to see "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (the most anticipated movie of 2003). "The Return of the King" will be even better than "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Two Towers" combined. Or, at least, I hope it will. But I am very sure that "The Return of the King" will be even better than its two prequels. Anyway, "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" is a spectacular movie! I can't wait to buy it for video cassette when it is released in stores.
