Summary: See it for the amazing cinematography in the aerial scenes.
Review: This movie has great cinematography in the air dogfight scenes, and a great, loud soundtrack. It also has one of the most embarrassing lines in filmdom when McGillis says, "I was afraid they'd see that I'd fallen for you." It is clear that the character "Goose" will be, as the movie parody "Hot Shots" named his counterpart, dead meat, but Anthony Edward's acting is dead on for the spirit of this movie. Tom Skerritt also brings good acting. Otherwise, you can use the chapter skip or fast forward features of your DVD player to bypass the very unlikely and unconvincing romantic subplot and Cruise's prolonged crying scenes in the last quarter of the film.

Summary: Val Kilmer
Review: There's only one reason I own and watch this movie. No...it's not Cruise or Ryan....it's Val Kilmer. Cool as Ice...Iceman.

Summary: THE American Classic of the 80's
Review: I saw this in the theater when I was in third grade with two of my best friends. When we left we all wanted to fighter piolts. I can quote almost any line of this film to this DAY! If you have a pulse, this movie is for you! This is the movie that defined the 80's for most men in America. It plays off of cold war, anti-russian sentiment as well as some good ol action. It's been over ten years since this movie was made and I still get chills down my spine every time I hear the theme from this movie! If you own a DVD player (why else would you be reading this?) you owe it to yourself to buy this movie! It'll take full advantage of everything your DVD player has to offer!!

Summary: For aircraft fans
Review: If you like aircraft and you want to see stunning air combat that is your movie. If you want a drama, better look for something else.

A cheap drama is a good excuse for an impressive footage.

Summary: Best movie of all time!!!!!!!
Review: I watch this movie at least twice a week. I recomend it to everyone. After I watch this movie I feel proud to be an American and I want to go out and kill a commie. I also want to join the US Naval Acadamy because of this movie. The special effects are excellent. It is all around the best movie I have ever seen.

Summary: A Testosterone Extravaganza
Review: This movie features some of the most amazing scenes ever filmed. It also features some of the most classic lines in American film history. It's a wonderfully fun, tongue-in-cheek movie that still manages to have its touching moments. The final dogfight is the most incredible scene I've ever seen. The soundtrack is pure 80's cheese, but that only adds to the fun. Aerial combat provides the ultimate in suround-sound enjoyment.

Summary: This movie is basically required for U.S. Citizenship.
Review: If there are men who haven't memorized 50 lines from this movie, I have yet to meet them. This "ultimate guy movie" has been seen more times by males 25-35 than any other. Why? Dogfighting, ego-boasting, and great lines. Also, we've been able to convince our significant others to watch it again and again since they can partake in the gratuitous volleyball & lockerroom scenes (plus they get to googoo over Tom Cruise). No Oscar performances (Berlin won one though...whatever) but the F-14s and the verbal slams steal the day. Plus, for many of us, this was our introduction to Meg Ryan...Need I say more.

Summary: Top Gun baby!
Review: TOPGUN..wat can i say. i grew up watchin this film ,its fun, exciting, thrilling and above all SEXY..tom cruise has never looked soo hott...this movie has given a new meaning to the song 'Youve lost that loving feeling' youd be surprised how many pilots, footballers sing this to girls in bars...it has an amazing soundtrack. 'take my breath away' performed by berlin is a wonderful emotional lovesong that truly melts your heart. so if your a fan of a little romance then this will be a movie top of your list. i know a lot of my boy friends have enjoyed this film so its not just a sloppy romance for girls. the boys get a kick out of 'Maverick' the stud played by Cruise who is 'one hell of an instinctive pilot' who learns never to leave his wing man. His best friend 'Goose' is the coolest character hes so entertaining. there are really fun sexy catchprases, such as 'goose ya big stud take me to bed and loose me forever' and 'son your ego is writing checks your body cant cash'
Top gun is a great movie to just chill out with some popcorn on the sofa and watch with your best friends. ill guarantee you will definately enjoy it.
"there are no points for second place in Topgun." (girls checkout the volleyball scene...mmm)

Summary: 13 Year Later, Top Gun Still Cool
Review: Top Gun is the movie that defines what cool is. Even today, 13 years after its release, my football team would sing "You've lost that lovin' feeling" on the bus ride home after a win. Some people may find fault with the contrived plot and overall tone that war is good, but this film was never about plot or social messages. It is simply a film made by a director (Tony Scott) and producers (Simpson and Bruckheimer) who know how to seal the deal. This along with the fact that the cast includes some of the top movie stars of the past 2 decades (Tim Robbins, Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan, Anthony Edwards) who were all but unknown at the time. There is nothing better than to pop Top Gun into the VCR, crank up the surround sound and take a trip to the bars and runways of Fightertown USA.

Summary: bleached teeth and sun tans all round......
Review: Well, what can I say other than I wanna be the best of the best! After seeing this film, I defiantly wanna join up, especially if there's guys like tom cruise around!!! Fit or what? Better than officer and a gentleman, who many people compare this film to.
Its an classic example of the good stuff that came from the 80's, so good infact people of my age are willing to watch it.
With excellent aerial photography and a romantic storyline, this is still one of the best films around.
the best part though, was most definatly the volleyball sceen. i would!
