Review: I may be only 13 but I appreciated this historical movie. It's really touching, and it's well acted too. This was a man who fought for peace and freedom, not for power and domination. The only strange thing was that the young W.Wallace didn't look at all like Mel Gibson. But for the rest, it's really good and there's a lot of suspens.

Review: This movie was wonderful! I usually think these kinds of historical dramas are a snore, but this one really opened my eyes. There are a lot of people that say it wasn't historically accurate, but with all due respects if you want to find out every little detail about the event, go the library. Otherwise, enjoy this movie for all it's worth, cause 'great ones' like this don't come around often enough. The acting was excellent, Mel Gibson was an incredible director, with a very good eye for scenery and detail, the music was beautiful, and the overall picture was breathtaking. This is a gut-wrencher in the best possible way!

Review: I have watched Braveheart at least 5 times and it's still just as good as the first time. I like the battles and the action. The drama is pretty good also.

Review: I learned sometime after I saw this movie that Wallace was a 'low-lander,' which means that he actually would've looked more like the English (wearing plate armor, chainmail, carrying shield, etc.), instead of the raggedy, barbaric-looking 'high-lander' dress they made for the movie. Oh well, I guess if they had called the movie "William Wallace," then it might be unrealistic and a crime/tragedy to the historians... However, this movie probably has the best combat scenes ever made for the time period they are portraying... I recently finished a book on warfare in classical greece, and although a different era, found that the emotions, situations, and realism portrayed in the movie is a good representation of what it might have really been like at the time.

Review: This is absolutely the best movie I have ever seen! The best part is that it is based on a true story. Mel Gibson definitely did his homework researching every aspect of the story. I have heard people say that this movie is too gruesome but I believe it must be that way in order to be factual. War was really like that!

Review: I think this is definitely one of those movies you either love or hate. I loved it, but I know some people who thought it was crap. Well, those people probably don't like a lot of movies because this flick was better (in my opinion) than many others. The length of it didn't bother me at all....I felt that this movie was appropriately 3 hours long, unlike many other long movies that could've been shorter. No, this one needed to be long. Definitely worth seeing.

Review: If you wanted a documentary you went to the wrong place. Stay home and watch PBS and leave more room in the theater for those of us who want to go be entertained. With that said, this is an excellent piece of fiction based on real persons and events which I found very entertaining.

Review: This is the most historically accurate film about scottish history. I was shocked to find every detail to be exact and precise. The amount of time and effort put into historical fact by Mel Gibson and everyone else that worked on the film is extraordinary! They should study this film in history because it is the gospel truth! Anyone who says other wise is a liar.

Review: I wonder if all the folks who are so terribly worried about historical accuracy here said any of the same sorts of things about "Nixon" or that TV mini-series that just aired about the 60's. Bottom line: there is a heckuva lot to love about this movie, not the least of which is the portrayal of Longshanks' son. But out of all of it, for me the subplot concerning Robert the Bruce endures as the most important story portrayed. His personal struggles with issues of complacency and compromise; courage and faith; all colored by the tempting he receives at the hands of his rotting father have impacted my own life deeply. In one of the final scenes, when Robert the Bruce is dealing with his father for the last time, his father says something like, "Ah, at last you've learned to hate...now you're ready to be a king." The Bruce answers, in what will be a line forever remembered, by me at least, "My hate will die with you." Ahhh! I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
