Rating: Summary: A Very Inspiring Film Review: Unlike a lot of films being released now, this one had excellent plot without all the gushy scenes. Hollywood made the movie much more pleasant than the book, and I liked the changes they made. James Caviezel did a marvelous job, and I look forward to seeing him in more films in the future. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who loves to watch intense romance, revenge, friendship, and passion. This has become one of my favorite films af all time, and I look forward to owning this DVD. This picture is great for both men and women alike, having an intricate story that would satisfy most viewers. This perchase you'll enjoy!
Rating: Summary: The Best Movie You Will See all summer Review: I have been waiting months for this title to be released on DVD, I have seen it three times while it was in the theaters. This movie goes right along the true novel by Alexander Dumas.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie for Movie Collectors Review: I fell in love with the book "The Count of Monte Cristo" when I read it for the first time in High School, so I was really excited when an updated version of this movie came out. The movie-producers followed the book really well. There are a few changes to the movie, however, they didn't detract from the story at all. I also enjoy watching movies with action, romance, and a real plot - one also that can do this without all the nudity, sex, violence, and language. This movie is able to entertain without offending. It will definately become part of my collection.
Rating: Summary: BF Rev- Count of Monte Cristo Review: Movie with very good plot. Good action scenes. Unexpected end
Rating: Summary: it's not the book but for a movie version what do u expect? Review: i had to read the original "count of monte cristo" this year for my literature class and i have to say that the fact that i saw the movie before reading the book sort of disappointed me. i wasn't sure whether to gove this movie a 2 or 3 star rating. if u judge this movie on its own merit, i thought it was actually a very engrossing, entertaining, and good movie. however, in retrospect, after reading the book i am a little upset about this adaptation of the story. granted, the book is far too complex to fit into a 2 hour time period, but i still think that the movie is missing some element (probably the 40 characters, developed plot, intrigue, and other complications they had to cut out for the sake of time). don't get me wrong, it's a great movie, but i am little mad that they belittled the ending to a soap opera ( i don't want to ruin the end for anyone who hasn't seen it, but if u have seen the movie u know what i'm talking about). anyway, if u prefer stories with intrigue, revenge, intricate plots, etc i would highly recommend this book for u. just don't watch the movie first. it'll kill u completely when u r in the middle of the book and u realize that the movie people butchered the story for the sake of entertainment. I REALLY REALLY REALLY RECOMMEND THE BOOK!
Rating: Summary: The Book/The Movie Review: I thought the movie was great, but if you decide that you love the book above all things, don't see the movie. I saw the movie before I read the book, and I really enjoy them as seperate things. The movie itself was fantastic and I really didn't find myself sitting there saying "This is so stupid, I can't believe I paid [how much?]to see this" or "that could NEVER happen". And Guy Pearce is the greatest.
Rating: Summary: Saw this in the theater-thought it was great! Review: Just a quick word about this movie-I give it 5 stars simply because of the lack of vulgarity and sex along with what I thought was a good storyline and some decent acting. It's nice to see that sometimes Hollywood can make a movie and not put a bunch of trash in it. Nowadays it seems like too many critics equate cussing in every sentence and 'pushing the envelope' when it comes to sexual content with good movie making. Actually, imo, it just makes them look like they're not smart enough to write a script that is still entertaining without all the trash. Because believe it or not, NO ONE that I know talks like they do in the movies, at least not where I live.
Rating: Summary: A Very Good Movie Review: I think that this movie was excellent. I went to see it in the movies, so I don't know what the DVD must be like. But the movie was great, it is well written and has a great screenplay. It has action, revenge, betrayal, plot and just about everything you can expect from a very good movie.
Rating: Summary: Two Thumbs Way Way Up!!!! An Awesome Movie Review: A new version to the well known classic, this movie was without a doubt one of the most thrilling movies I've seen all year. This new version brings more 21'st century to the wonderful story. What with dashing characters and full on romances this movie kept me on the end of my seat for the entire show. It's also such a great film that you don't want it to end. It's full of action pack sequences around every turn. It's also full of amazing discoveries your learning something new every few minutes. It's a good movie for both teenagers and parents. You don't need to worry about it being bad for the kids it's an awesome movie. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys lots of action but the old fasion way with swords and stuff and also enjoys a star crossed romance. I recommend it for people from the ages of 12 to 100 it's awesome. Go see it NOW!!!
Rating: Summary: must see Review: I was pleasantly surprised on flight. I didn't even want to buy the headphones when I saw what the movie was going to be. I was so glad I gave it a chance. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Its a definite Must See....
