Summary: What do you expect?
Review: AVP is entertaining, but also awful. It's the biggest guilty pleasure out there. What's next Chucky V. The Leprachaun?

Summary: EXTENDED VERSION DVD IS A RIP-OFF!!!!
Review: Compared to the theatrical version which I did see, there is only one difference compared to this dvd version: There is a new 20 second opening scene. This 20 second scene is totally useless. It adds no substance at all to the movie.

It's a shame how the dvd producers think that they can cheat people out of their hard earned money by adding a garbage deleted scene. SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Summary: Since Paul Anderson directed...we all loose.
Review: I am a huge fan of the first Predator film, and I think the first two Alien movies were very good, but I am pretty sure that Fox will make this an incredibly stupid movie. Of course it's going to be predictible, and irratating and probubly only viewable once.
I'm one hundred percent sure that that's what Fox wanted, a stupid summer action flick. Fox and Paul Anderson (whom I think is the worst choice to direct this, his movies are only good once, barely, and that's it, .) are singlehandly going to destroy two very good movie franchises. They should have asked John Mcterien, James Cameron or Ridley Scott to direct this movie.
What they should have done was make another Alien movie and another Predator movie and left the AvP franchise to books, comics, games and fans imagination. I'm not saying I won't watch it, I will, I'm just saying I'm sure I'll leave the theater very disappointed. Fans have always wondered what a battle between Aliens and Predator would have looked like, and wee all know that what we see is going to fall short of what we imagined.
We can all kid ourselves and hope it's going to be good, but let's face it this is just eye candy and an attempt to get money for Fox. This movie will probubly end up like Freddy versus Jason, forgotten very soon. I feel very bad that two excellent sci-fi films, that made you think, have been reduced to this.
I know most of you are saying, "what the hell does he know? he hasn't even seen the movie!", but I have read the novelisation and gobbled up any rumors and spoilers I could find, and I was incredibly disaapointed by what I read.I really, really hope I'm proven wrong by the film, and that come August 13 I have to write a follow up review apologizing about how wrong I was. But everything seems to say that I won't need too.
Well at least we have the Alien quadrology (sp.) and the Predator special edition DVD.

Summary: If only the director took his time...it could have been...
Review: I am going to be very blunt about this movie. If there would have been more time and energy into making this movie, everthing about it would have been a lot better! The special effects seemed rushed. Everything is all computer animated now, that's too bad. Remember how good the Aliens looked in Aliens 2? Not here! Even the face huggers are all fake looking! They all look cheap and fake! The story line could have been much stronger, and the acting a lot more intellegent. The director must think his audience is a bunch of morons, because everything was so...over simplified! I truley hope Paul Anderson does not try to make a movie like this again, because he really failed at this one. He ruined a good concept just for the love of $$.

Summary: By far one of the better of both series!
Review: I don't know why on earth - or anywhere eles, for that matter - anyone would trash this movie.

It is better than the last two Alien movies. It is better than Predator 2. In terms of special effects and action - it it right up there with the original Predator. So why all the fuss?

Sure it could have been better, but it surely could have been terribly worse. I was never bored. The look of the film, the aliens and Predators, along with their nifty gadgets and weaponry - was all excellent.

Paul Anderson did a great job at giving us a solid sci-fi action movie. The script could have been much bigger and better, but it would have cost more than the movie studio was willing to pay. Shame too.

If someone in Hollywood can grow the balls to have a huge epic storyline come along in the next movie, along with eye-popping special effects, people will flock to it in droves.

Just look at the idiots who said this was trash...and then look at the DVD sales. I bought it, and have nejoyed it immensely both times. Yeah, one can pick it apart, but it is a far cry from horrendous.

if you love action/adventure sci-fi - and want to see the latest special effects that make both the Aliens and Predators look better than ever - than this one's for you!

Summary: It has potential
Review: I have been anticipating this movie for quite sometime and they finally got a script out the door. I think this movie is gonna be alright but I'm not gonna bet on it, from what I read and heard from a very good source it is gonna be based in the Antartic where they have stumbled upon some ruins and the Weyland Yutani Corporation (yes the very same evil corporation from Aliens and Alien 3) funds a expedition there, also the same guy who played Bishop (Lance Henriksen, don't believe check the cast list :P) in Aliens and Alien 3 will be playing a role in this, which seems odd since from what I gather the timeline is present day and is set years apart from the Alien movies, but exactly how they incorporate this is unknown. To make this short they find some very old fossils in the ruins "mysteriously" with their chests busted inside out, that is pretty much where my synopsis of the movie ends. They said they did not want to name the movie Aliens VS Predator simply because they did not want to be affiliated with the video games and that Alien VS Predator would be more simple because (next part is 50/50) they are going to have only 1 Alien in the movie. Now you pretty much know what I know about this movie which is based on information about 8 months old of course from that point of time there could of been so many more rewrites that it could end up being WWIII (which would be great) of the species. But you can undoubtly see me to be the first in line to see it cause I have been a fan for more then 14 yrs of these movies so not seeing it would be heresy, but until that day comes I'll stick to playing Aliens VS Predator 2.

Summary: Hope it's good....
Review: I love all of the alien and predator films, So I'm incredibly excited. This movie comes out on my birthday so I'm really phsyced( Don't know if i spelled it right). But I heard that the director also directed Resident Evil which was kinda a let down... But i personally think that people that like the Alien and Predator movies are still gonna love it. I hope it doesn't fall into crap like Freddy vs Jason but also i know for a fact people love these characters alot more than 2 mediocre( but still cool) horror killers. Im just hoping for the best. But please if you are gonna see this movie watch all 4 Aliens and 2 Predators!!!! They are all good in my opinion. August 13, 2004

Summary: Not Bad, not bad at all!
Review: I saw this movie twice, I liked most of what I saw, there were somethings that I did not like in Alien vs. Predator, one of them being how the quickly and how the first 2 predators were killed in this movie, and the second is how cheazy looking the predators shoulder cannons looked. Other than that the movies was spectacular, strange but still a good movie regardless. I have been a fan of both the Aliens and Predator franchises since I was 10 and I have to say that this alien vs. predator movie has been long overdue.

Summary: Alien and Predator go PG-13
Review: Let's face it: any movie that pits two of the coolest sci-fi creatures of all time against each other, while killing lots of human beings (completely nessecary mind you) has to be cool, right? Every person (including myself) who saw this movie went into it with that decieving mindset; coming out six bucks in the hole, and none too satisfied. Take the worst of every Alien and Predator movie (i.e. Arnold S./Danny Glover), a watered down plot, horrible acting, and a WHOLE LOTTA CRAP, and blend it all together - and you get this. The vs. part is the hook, the hope of seeing an actual Alien vs. Predator battle is the line, and the movie? The sinker. The humans do not die fast enough! Any movie where lots of humans die trying to stop something a) of no concern to them and b) that is going to ruin their chances of greed - is okay by me. I was waiting for a cameo by Danny Glover telling us veterans of age that we are indeed "too old for this @#$%!" (Lethal Weapon throwback there) However, this review isn't all bad: the Aliens and Predators look tremendous, with awesome detail, and the Predator makes use of that cool weaponary it possesses. This "PG-13" is the training wheels to its "R-rated" predecessors. And if this battle ever turns into a series, pray it finds its way into space...where all franchises go to die.

Summary: Not for me, but my 10-year-old LOVED it!
Review: My son is obsessed with the action figures created by the likes of McFarlane (such as Spawn) and loves his Aliens and his Predator figures. Unfortunately he could never watch any of the movies that inspired them. Everytime a commercial comes on TV for movies such as AVP he freezes in mid-action and practically holds his breath until the announcer says "This film has been rated..." and when it's "R" he deflates like a balloon. When the commercial for AVP said PG-13, you could hear this kid whoop for miles! (I pick and choose which PG-13 movies he's allowed to see though, so he knew there was a chance I'd still say no.)

I can see where die-hards would pick this movie apart and even hate it. But as a mom, I was glad there was a PG-13 version with off-screen deaths and the like. There was enough slime and goo to keep my kid happy, yet not enough to make me forbid it. So that's why at my house, it gets 4 stars.
