Review: Hell yeah! LOTR 3 has to win at the oscars this year. I haven't seen it yet, but I will- I've already planned at LOTR fest fro the entire day before- watching fellowship etended then 2toers extended and then the midnight showing of rotk at the local theatre! I love lotr and rotk is my favorite of the books. Anyone who hasn't seen the other two in theatres has to- the effect can never be matched, even with a huge TV and a dvd. GO AND SEE ROTK!!

Summary: Already, My Favorite Movie
Review: I recently bought the Two Towers dvd and finally was able to see a sneak peak of Return of the King. And let me tell you, it looked awsome. I sneak peak didn't show much, but it did show some. Some ineresting things is that Saruman thinks that the hobbit Pipen has the ring. Also, in the battle of Helm's Deep in the Two Towers, there were 10,000 soldiers under Saruman. In the new battle in Return of the King, there are 200,000 soldiers under Saruman. With each movie in the trilogy getting better and better, I seriously believe this movie is capable of passing Titanic and breaking the all time box office record.

Summary: Haven't Seen It But...
Review: In the sneek preview of THE RETURN OF THE KING on THE TWO TOWERS DVD there are shots of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli walking through the Path of the Dead, a scene which was not in the old cartoon. I don't know why LotR fans worship that cartoon. It's a tough film to watch. I know it's from the 70s and paceing of movies was diffrent then but christ! These films are a lot (LOT) better.

Summary: Too good to be true
Review: In short words, the first two films were two of the greatest movies of our time. The casting was perfect (Ian is dead-on perfect for Gandalf), the script was superbly riveting, and the scenes were ingeniously created by Peter Jackson's dedicated role in this movie. If The Return of the King is as well directed and acted and written as the last two films, then this will be ten times better than any other movie I will ever and have seen. The plot in the book is by far the best, and the scenes in the novel are drenched in action and emotion. Don't worry. Whether a LotR fan, an action fan, or even a drama fan, then you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Oh, no!
Review: WHY, WHY, WHY? The old LOTR version from the 70s was good enough and told the story of all three books qUite well. WHY did they all have to be redone into new movies?.... I could easily take 2 hours out of the first two because there's an unbelievable amount of boredom in them that has nothing to do with the stories! For all you big fans, go ahead and see it. And for everyone who doesn't like these movies and has friends that WORSHIP them, I'm giving you a fair warning right now: DO NOT LET THEM DRAG YOU TO THE THEATER TO SEE THIS.

Summary: 5 stars just for the anticipation...
Review: I've followed this epic trilogy virtually from the first rumours that some brave soul was going to attempt to film a live action version of The Lord of the Rings.
After psyching myself up (sufficiently, I hope) for the potential disappointment of certain key elements being left out, I have to say that I am looking forward to seeing The Return of the King even moreso than when I was awaiting the release of the first Harry Potter movie. And anyone who really knows me will know that is saying something.
I have conceded that certain things are going to be left out, as happened with the first two films. Though this is pure speculation, I believe that the scouring of the Shire, the hobbits' final trial, will be abandoned from the film adaption.
The good news is that Aragorn's journey through the Paths of the Dead will NOT be left out.

There is so much to look forward to - primarily the final stage of Frodo and Sam's journey into Mordor, and to Mount Doom, and the Free People's final stand against Sauron.
The latter promises to be an even more spectacular sight than the siege at Helm's Deep in Two Towers.
I live in hope that Mr Jackson will conclude his wonderful work by wrapping things up cleanly with all the main characters, but still staying relatively true to the book. Even if we have to do without the scouring of the Shire, I think most Tolkienites will know what I'm hinting at.
I won't say anymore now. It's one thing to speculate in general terms, and another to try and predict exactly what we are going to see, come the release date in December. And, it's been bugging the hell out of me that some reviewers are trying to do just that.
I will wait until I have actually seen the film before I write anything more, and I hope it will still deserve the five star rating. I think it will, and that's a prediction I will make with reasonable confidence.

Review: ok i know this movie is going to be great! the first two were the best!! so this is going to be even better! it was the best book anyways. The plot is amazing, per usual, and the ending is riveting and sad at the same time. PLus, the cast couldnt get any any better! how hot is orlando bloom?!?!?!? and sir ian mckellen is a great actor, so is viggo mortenson etc. i think the movie with be perfect for everyone. us girls will go lisch over orlando bloom and elijah wood's eyes. and mom will say how handsome viggo mortenson is *gag* dads and brothers will appriciate the special effects and fight seens. lol the movie is going to be the best ever!!!!!!

Review: Everyone is rite!!! The LOTR movies have to be best film ever produced and no one in the bloody Oscar commitee have realised it. Last year it was some stupid movie who won the oscar(I cant remeber the movies name) this year CHICAGO. Where do all these movies stand against LOTR?? no where!!!
Peter Jackson and Lord of the Rings deserve an Oscar more than any other nominated film. I mean a guy who dedicated years of his life to the making this movie isn't a good director??? Yeah rite!! GO LOTR !!! Oscar u deserve ,but if u r not given one, its okay because we, the world recognises your greatness and incredible and breathtaking plot which can only be compared to the famous MahaBaratha epic and Dune Chronicles!!

Summary: Looks like the best film of all time
Review: I've been reading a lot of these other reviews for The Return of the King and everyone is just guessing how good the film will be. I for one, have seen the actual trailer for the film and let me tell you for a fact that the movie looks awesome! The trailer is off the internet now just so you know. I found out after seeing it that it was bootleged and when I went back to the website to see it again, the trailer was gone. No need to fear, I watched it a billion times before logging off. I will now recount the trailer in detail. The first shot is one of Deagol holding the ring for the first time although we do not see his face. Then we see Frodo and Sam walking into the distance while Pippin askes Gandalf if there is hope for Frodo's mission. We see Gandalf and he answers "There never was much hope. Just a fools hope." We then see a very brief shot of Frodo strugling like never before. Merry then tells Pippin that he will see the Shire again. The great eye quickly flashes across the screen and we hear Faramir telling Denethor that Osgiliath is overrun while we see many orcs running through the city. Then we see Eowyn looking into the distance while Theoden tells her that "I would have you smile and not grieve for those whose time has come." Gandalf then voices over while we see many people preparing for battle. As this is happening, Gandalf says "The order is sent. The troops are moving. We come to it at last. The great battle of our time." As he says the last sentence we see him riding on Shadowfax in Minas Tirith, riding up some stairs and looking over a wall. On the other side are not hundreds, or thousands, but millions of orcs marching and chanting words from the ring. There are then many shots of the orcs attacking the city no doubt from the siege of Gondor and the battle of the Pelennor fields. There is even one shot of a winged Nazgul swooping over the city and causing a small troop of men to fall off the wall. Then we hear the infamous voice of Gollum saying "The Precious will be ours once the hobbitses are dead!" We then see Frodo in a cave running away from the camera which seems to be chasing him (This is undoubtfully Shelob). The trailer culminates with many shots from the battle at the black gate and Aragorn shouting "Ride now! Ride for ruin!" And finally the last shot shows Gandalf riding on Shadowfax with Pippin on the back of the horse in Minas Tirith. As he rides out, the biggest winged Nazgul of the whole trilogy comes swooping down and landing in front them. This is most likely the Witch-King. And thats all folks! You have now heard an eye witness account of the very first trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King!
