Summary: Does not work with Toshiba Laptops
Review: Said it didn't work with Pioneer DVD-R drives, and it doesn't work with Toshiba either. TDK and even CompUSA DVD-R's work fine. Memorex should work harder to make sure their disks work with all DVD-R's.

Summary: Don't believe the negative reviews
Review: There are two types of people re memorex Dvd-rs. THose who are smart enough to know what media works with their burners and those who are absolutely clueless.

Those with Pioneer burners should stick with minus media as that is the format that Pioneer used during the early days of the burners.
THose with sony burners should stick with plus media as that is the format that Sony used before the double format burners.

If you get crappy burns with a Sony burner using minus media then don't blame the media. Blame the burner, even if it is a multi-format burner like the ancient DRU 500AX.

This comment is in response to the fellow below who said that his SOny DRU 500AX has good results with TDK+Rs. WELL BIG SURPRISE! That is plus media, media that is native for a sony. I have a DRU500AX as well and I have had bad burns 2 out of 4 or even 3 out of 4 using the much vaunted TDK Media. The TDK Media I was using was minus media. Even though the Sony 500AX is a multi-format burner these burners are notorious for being finicky with minus media (even with the so called wonderful TDK media).

I currently use a Pioneer burner and have had no reason to use plus media even though my pioneer is a multiformat burner. If you are like me and use a Pioneer burner exclusively and are making backups of movies for your viewing pleasure then these Memorex DVD-R is the way to go. You can't beat the price OR the quality.

There is only one burner worth buying on the market and that is the pioneer. Fuhgettabout Sony. They're crap. Crap burners will have crap results with any media.

Summary: Works great on Panasonic DMR-E50
Review: These discs work great on the Panasonic DMR-E50 set top dvd recorder. Do not make the mistake of buying the Memorex printable top version dvd's, they do not work.

Summary: This are the ones
Review: These Dvds are the way to go. I have burned over 200 of these babys and not one, I repeat, not one has ever given me a problem. They are excellent for whatever you want to do. I commend Memorex for such excellent product. To bad I can't say the same for the 8x version of these Dvds.

Summary: Best media available, even for a higher price
Review: This is absolutely the BEST media out there. For ther person asking before, this burns at 4X speed on the Sony DRU-500AX burner with NO problems. You get VERY FEW coasters with this media using the picky Sony DRU-500AX. Fast, reliable and no skipping. Record-Now DX and DVD Shrink software is used to make great backups. Great for data. I have heard great reviews by MANY others on many other websites. You CANT GO WRONG with this media. Way better than Princo and other cheapie store brand media that are always on sale (like the ones CompUSA sells). For under $1/disc, PLEASE spend the extra money on these blanks. I know you can get other media for cheaper if you look around but you cant complain if you are getting media that works flawlessly for under a buck. Trying to save any more money is just being unreasonably cheap and will cost you in the long run. Buy these. Only TDK (great media) can keep pace with these blanks

Summary: 14% Defective Rate !!! :-(
Review: Tried 21 discs in either a Toshiba laptop internal DVD-R/RAM drive or a BUSlink USB external DVD+/-R/RW drive. 3 discs were defective, and 5 more were rendered useless because they were part of backup sets that cancelled when the DVD-R went bad. 3 of 21 is a 14% error rate. 8 of 21 tried that are now useless is a 39% loss rate! Not sure if "supposedly good" burns will stay good (poor quality DVDs can stop being readable unpredictably). Trying to return the bad and unused 37 DVD-Rs takes 3 weeks if they will do it at all and if you don't have to resubmit your request to wait another 3 weeks!

Summary: 100% Happy
Review: Used the whole bundle and not a single problem with any of them. No a "coaster" in the carload.
