Summary: 90% Coasters
Review: I burned 25/25 discs with NO errors whatsoever on the standard memorex 4x DVD-R's they sell at Best Buy. These however burn all the way till 99% then fail. It's really annoying that these actually ended up costing more than the ones at a retail store (because it takes 5-10 just to get a good disc). I'll never order these again.

Summary: What is going on here?
Review: I too purchased this 100pk thinking it was a good deal. ($1 each) I used memorex regular dvd-r without a problem for months so i just assumed they would be of the same quality. Well they are NOT! Unfortunately, the end of the DVD is always crap. Whether it be a backed up movie or Data, The end of the DVD is a no burn zone! I called memorex on their warranty and they said they would value their warranty but i would have to send the defective back to be replaced. So that means i have to waste my time and check each one by one and put them to the side if they are bad? that's a good hour waste of burning!(4x)I purchased the printable because my printer has the print directly on disks capability. I guess im just going to have to look elsewhere unfortunately, and i suggest you do the same! I mean, look at all these reviews!

Summary: Good discs, just make sure your burner is ready for them
Review: I was really afraid after I ordered these and THEN decided to read the reviews. Everyone HATES these discs. I thought I had gotten burned when the first two discs failed while trying to finalize the printable DVDrs. But then I decided to DEFRAGMENT my hard drive and since then NO PROBLEMS at all. These fails once in an while but only at the same percentage that my regular Memorex non-printables do. These, I feel, are great discs but make sure your PC is defragmented and your firmware is up to date.

I see that many people have problems but I dont believe that it is always the disc's fault. Still, you cant ignore the problems of the masses as it seems that more people have a bad experience with these discs than good ones. Maybe these discs are just picky but I have NO problems with them. Perhaps I am just lucky. I also see that many Pioneer owners have problems. I have a SONY DRU-500AX (The "X" version comes with firmware built in, so I did not have to upgrade, if you own DRU-500A, please update firmware). I also use Veritas Record Now DX that came with SONY.

I would give these discs 5 stars, but I cant ignore the plight and disappointments of so many others. Perhaps the reason why I was able to get them so cheap (under $1/disc) is because of all the problems that people are having with them. So I must regretfully thank all those that are having problems. If they dont give you issues these are BEAUTIFUL.

As fare as the printing goes, these print EXCELLENT on my Epson CD printer. The white surface goes all they way down to the hub so you can make some really nice looking DVDs that dont cut out any of he artwork. My only gripe is that Memorex puts their name in the printable part just outside the hub so everyone know that this is a DVDr disc. But this is not a bad price to pay for a DVD that prints all the way to the hub and a great blank DVD (IF you can get it to work on your burner)

My advice is to find some one that already has these and TEST them first or buy a small pack. At this price it is defintely worth some research. No other brand name can be had at this price. If you dont have a DVD printer then whats the point-- you might as well just get the 50 pack of Memorex non-printable silvers on sale this week for under $50 here on Amazon. Those are BY FAR the best discs I have ever used. ZERO problems. Only take the risk with these if you want to PRINT on DVDs with your printer.

Review: Wasted a lot with writer throwing "Power Calibration Error" after 2% write. Previous lot was OK...but not this one. Go for something else.

Summary: The worst discs EVER
Review: You would thing a "name brand" disc will have a low failure rate. NOPE... try one in two will be bad. They got $200 from me and never again.

Review: These are totally useless! Get the regular DVD-r Memorex and stay away from these "printable DVD's". Bad News!!!!!

Summary: Great product - if you know what you're doing...
Review: I recently purchased these for a large project and could not be happier with them. All twenty or so of them (that I have used) have burned flawlessly. I use my Epson Photo900 to print directly to the disk and the colors stay vibrant and clear - much more so than other white screened DVD-R media I have used in the past from other fly-by-night websites. I use a Sony DRU-510A burner (one of the more popular on the market) - and as mentioned the two products have totally error-free compatibility. As for the individuals that have posted negative reviews - I have two words..."User Error." The disks come with a reminder for Pioneer Drive owners to upgrade their firmware (these are 4x discs after all - not all drives are compatible out of the box). BOTTOM LINE...if you know what you are doing (and what are you doing buying printable media anyway if you don't?) this is a GREAT product - at an unbelievable price (common - $1 a disc?).

Summary: Good for writing notes
Review: These are terrible. If you want to use them in place of index cards, post-its, or scratch paper the white surface is good -- because you will not be using too many in your dvd player!

Summary: STAY AWAY FROM "PRINTABLES"
Review: As with everyone else, the burn lasts for 1/2 of the movie before it fails. Attempted 12 discs - all failed. As for those claiming they work fine, enjoy the stack while you can - the next ones you order will prove otherwise, guaranteed.
