The LiveUpdate feature keeps all the Norton applications and the essential virus definition files up-to-date by automatically checking for updates when you connect to the Internet, or at prescheduled times. Dantz Retrospect Express makes backing up files an easy and logical process. Backing up your essential files is always advisable but often difficult to do effectively. Dantz Retrospect Express allows you to automate the process, backing up to removable media such as Zip or Jaz drives, CD-RW, another hard drive, or to an Internet archive with ease. The wide range of configuration options take some time to organize, but once this is done backing up becomes a single-click operation. Finally, Aladdin Spring Cleaning allows you to keep your valuable disk space free by deleting unwanted and unused files, duplicate files, temporary Internet browser caches, and it even removes unnecessary code from some software applications. Currently, some features of previous versions of Norton SystemWorks, such as Speed Disk, do not run on Mac OS X. However, by booting your Mac from the Norton SystemWorks 2.0 CD, all the features of Norton SystemWorks 1.0 are available and work just as well on disks with Mac OS X installed. Users of Mac OS 8 or OS 9 should note that the Norton SystemWorks 2.0 package includes Norton SystemWorks 1.0 for operating systems older than Mac OS X, so if you already own this version and do not use Mac OS X, Norton SystemWorks 2.0 offers no new features for you.
