Summary: Update for newer Macs available
Review: For those of us that purchased Systemworks for Mac 3.0 before the end of January and have newer Macs that could not be started from the Norton CD, Norton now has an updated CD. If you qualify, they will ship it to you at no charge. The new disk works and I now give the program 4 stars.

Summary: This program saved my butt
Review: I bought a new G4 15" laptop with a bad screen. Before I sent the product back to be fixed, I imaged my hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner. However, I forgot to check the integrity of the backup. Anyway, when I restored my system, I had cross linked files, bad data forks, mouse troubles, boot problems, etc. All it all it was a random mess that at times made me feel like the computer was on crack. I called up (computer company)and they said the X.3 disk utility would not fix my problems. Instead they suggested Norton. While the disk utility from Apple discovered nothing wrong, Norton found my system was full of major problems. Norton fixed everything and my machine is back to working great. The only problem I can say I had is I still cannot boot from the Norton CD yet when using OS X.3. Thank goodness I have a firewire drive to boot from.

Summary: Once again, very pleased!
Review: I've been using Norton now for almost 15 years and once again, with this upgrade, I'm very pleased. I haven't used any other program for a long time so it is unfair for me to compare it to any other program, but I can say I haven't HAD to use any other program. Thanks for keeping my computer operating well and safe!

Summary: Don't bother if you're running Panther with large files
Review: Spent $100 elsewhere on this. I've used Norton in the past but had switched to TechTool. I decided to try them again. I was sadly mistaken.

First, I ran Disk Doctor. Got error 23005, which the support said to run Volume Recover. Nothing found there. Got the same error from Disk Doctor. Tried Disk DeFrag and it said that the directories were too large for "this version" of SystemWorks to defrag.

Useless. I'll be returning it and using TechTool again.

Summary: SPEED DISK MAY DISABLE YOUR STARTUP DISK IN OS X
Review: Using Speed Disk on OS X may disable your startup disk, and Symantec thinks so little of their customers, that they make you pay to fix the problem. The answer is to re-instal your system software. It's happened to 3 other people I know, so don't risk it. Good Luck!

Summary: May Disable Your Startup Disk
Review: UTILITIES 8 MAY DISABLE YOUR STARTUP DISK IN OS X IF YOU RUN SPEED DISK, AND THERE'S NO FREE PHONE SUPPORT! It's happened to 3 other people I know, and Symantec thinks so little of their customers, there's no free phone support, no exceptions! Don't risk it, get TechTool or DiskWarrior
