Summary: I would like to give it 0 star.
Review: First thing I have to say, this software does not worth even a penny. If you can get it for free, (or free after rebate), get it to satisfy your curiousness. If you have to pay (...) DON'T BUY IT.
Like other customers said, the box stated: Copy movies in an hour, Make completed back up of Hollywood movies ... Totally deception, ridiculous. After I installed, it said, "This version can only copy DVDs that do not have CSS copyright". If I can find a Hollywood movie that does not have CSS copy right, what in the world do I need this software for ???. To respond my frustration, the Instruction file said:"If you live in the country where the copyright law does not apply, you can go to a website to download an "additional software" to accompany with I Copy DVDs 2 to back up movies". OK, I go to that website and get that software for free ... trial (!?!). After installed and run it prior to I Copy DVDs 2, it allowed to read the movies. Seems it worked, at least. But it does not, after 1 hour and a half of just reading the DVD movie (the box said total back up time is only 1 hour, and my PC is a fast Pentium 4, by the way), it promted to insert a blank DVD, then it burned the disc. It really BURNED the DVD+R, cooked it and killed it in 5 seconds, then finally ejected the poor, dead DVD+R out with a messege "Error writing DVD". It happened the same when I tried to duplicate my family video DVDs, which do not have any copyright protection nor any errors. So far, it killed 5 of my DVD+/-Rs, and those blank DVDs are not free, you know. I called customer service number (the one I called to claim the License ID and serial number), the number seems disappeared...
This software is not only useless but also wastes your time and drives you crazy. So I suggest you NEVER ever buy it.

Summary: DO NOT BUY
Review: I bought the software and downloaded DVD43 and after all of that I always get errors either writing or reading the movie. I was a waste of money and waste of time. I have a new computer with more than enough needed to run the program. I also have a brand new DVD burner, top of the line so I know it is not my equipment! Very frustrating....I only gave it one star because I couln't give it any less. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Summary: A waste of money!
Review: I bought this program because it said outside the box "copy any dvd including the latest hollywood movies".
That's not true, after installing this program I tried to copy some dvds I owned and it always gave me an error. So I went to their web site and in one of the pages it says that it won't copy any dvd that has CSS copy protected feature. Meaning almost 95 percent of the dvds out there.
SO I wasted my money on this purchase.

Summary: I Copy DVDs 2 is a RIP-OFF!!!!
Review: I bought this software in spite of all the negative reviews because reviewer A. Ranusch, review date 7/29/2004, refers to a web site that gives this software decent reviews. I figured all the other reviewers overlooked something.
I also downloaded a free CSS decrypter, DVD43, which allows this software to read commercial movies.
It took this software took about 30 minutes to read the movie and created a temporary video file.
It then prompted me to insert the blank disk into the DVD reader/writer. After inserting disk, I clicked on the "copy" icon and NOTHING happens. This software freezes up. I removed and inserted the blank disk several times and can't get the software to unfreeze. I shut down the software and the newly created video file is automatically deleted.
I have a relatively new computer, Pentium 2.4 Ghz with Windows XP. Prior to beginning the copying process,I had shut down all anti-virus, firewall, and unnecessary programs running in the background to avoid freeze ups. Apparently this does not help.
This software does not come with a users manual and the help menu within the CD is so sparse that it is useless. The manufacturers' web site have only a few "Frequently Asked Questions" and is practically useless.
Bottom Line: This software is full of glitches. If you purchase this software, you'll be flushing $50.00 down the toilet.
I have one last tip. There are 2 editions of this software, a "standard" edition for about $50.00 and a "basic" edition for about $30.00. I held the boxes of the 2 editions side by side and they are identical except that one says "standard edition" and the other says "basic edition".
The product description, functions, and computer memory requirements are identical for both editions. This leads me to believe that both editions are probably identical except that the "basic" edition is for suckers and the "standard" edition is for bigger suckers.

Summary: Even with a DeCSS program - this is junk..
Review: It turns out you can get a program called DVD-43 that will allow you to make backups of your DVD movies using this program by providing access to the DeCSS algorithm. But the compression (modification) technology that this tool uses to accomplish this makes the video quality *unbearable* in the duplicate. You can *see* the compression - even on a cheap TV set.

Don't bother with this program - it's just complete junk.

Summary: Simple to use
Review: One of the reasons I purchased this product was that it boasts a simple to use interface. I have 5 children under the age of 8, and this program has paid for itself already, I don't have the money to replace dvds when they get scratched. I was replacing broken dvds often. recommend highly

Summary: I Copy DVDs SUCKS
Review: The advertisement said nothing about loading any decrypting software. It said COPYS ANY MOVIE. DON'T buy this ripoff piece of garbage. I loaded another burning program and have had no problems. Thanks If I could have given it a -0 stars I would have. Total waste of MONEY and most importantly,WASTE OF TIME!!!!!

Summary: Does not copy Copy Protected DVDs - DO NOT BUY!!!!
Review: The advertisements and the box say that it copies Hollywood movies. When I tried to copy one of my movies it told me that it could not copy a copy-protected DVD and it recommended finding shareware that would first decrypt the software. What a rip-off! Don't waste your money. I miss the days when you could buy DVDXCopy.

Anyone that says they don't need to make backup copies of their DVDs has never had kids. The surface of a DVD does not survive long with a 3 year old trying to put it in to the DVD player. :-)
