Description:

With MAGIX Guitar Workshop, everybody can learn to play acoustic, electric, or classical guitar easily. All important chords and rhythms are explained step by step in a series of interactive videos. Achieve your goals quickly with useful practical exercises. In the Jam room, you can use the chords you've learned to compose and record your own songs; plus, you can arrange backing tracks to play along to. More advanced bar chords and distorted electric-guitar power chords are clearly explained. Arrange backing tracks by using the supplied library of sound samples, including guitar chords, drum beats, bass lines, and keyboard pads. Play your guitar live, over the top; then, record the complete session in hi-fi quality.

In the main menu, you can choose how to run your Guitar Workshop. If you want to learn basic guitar theory, select the "Your guitar" section, where you can practice how to play a bar chord or tune the guitar correctly. In the "Open chords" section, you can learn all the basic open-chord finger placings. By the time you've mastered them, you can compose your first song or begin to learn to play your favorite songs. In the "Essential rhythms" section, you can get to grips with the different up and down rhythms. Advanced bar chords and power chords for more skilled players are taught in a separate section.

By using the new Songplayer system, you can display and learn the chords and rhythms of your favorite songs. Insert the original CD of your favorite band in the CD-ROM player, and download your chosen song as a file from the MAGIX home page. The Songplayer system synchronizes the audio data with the chord finger placings, and simultaneously displays on the screen the chords and rhythms of the selected song.
