Rating: Summary: Very Nice Functionality Review: I downloaded PowerDVD to play DVD's in my computer and it worked very well, providing a well structured set of features to navigate the contents of the disc in smooth and easy manner.I would recommend this version.
Rating: Summary: Excelent but there is a catch! Review: I was just to buy this DVD decoder after my friend showed me how cool it is. I watched several DVDs using this decoder. it realy is great great great . I wanted to buy is but one thing kept me away. That is the number of times you can install it. I read the comment above and then declined to do so. I wanted to contact the company regarding that , I mean if they have any written info about it but no contact address. If you are sure you don't need to install it more than 3 or 4 times...go for it you will not be disappointed. Heruy Ejigu
Rating: Summary: Software Cheating Review: Power DVD XP standard is a nice program. But there is a catch. You can't install the program more than 4 or 5 times. I installed WindowsXP Last month. It won't boot.It locked up on booting. I reinstalled Couple of times. Each time I had to re install Power DVD XP 4.0. I could not install poer dvd. Because I exceeded the number of times that the the software can be installed. They should say before it is sold. Joseph
Rating: Summary: Easy to use great features! Review: Powerdvd which is the most popular dvd software and for good reason. The interface is great and simple to use. It is very stable and provides seamless naviagtion when you want to move through your dvd. It also has some great sound features (that some software dvd players don't) so that you can get the most out of your sound card and speakers. it has support for dolby surround, pro logic and all of those other ones. One other great feature is the paental controls that let you set exactly what each user can and cannot watch and password protect someone from changing it. The simple interface is also flexable letting you change certain functions and displays and is even skinable!
Rating: Summary: VAIO Users Review: This software came bundled with my VAIO (PCV RZ14G) but lacks a few functions that comes with this download... namely Dolby Prologic II. Instead, i've installed an Audigy sound card and bought a set of Logitech Z680 speakers (with Dolby Prologic II & DTS encoder). I have the latest drivers for my sound card installed and all my games sound flawless! Everything seems to work fine until you listen very closely to the background music on DVDs using PowerDVD. The voices coming from the center speaker are crystal but the background music faintly stutters and skips. I've downloaded updates from the Sonystyle website but unfortunately wasn't a fix for this. The Cyberlink PowerDVD website sadly wasn't much help either. I guess i'll just have to wait for a new patch from Cyberlink to solve this issue. ...P>To conclude though, feature rich and combined with user friendly interface easily makes this everyone's choice for playing DVDs on PCs. A must have for PC movie buffs! My VAIO came with a remote and works really well with PowerDVD btw!
