Summary: GREAT PRODUCT!
Review: Studio 7 is great. It mokes movie making simple for anyone. It has beginner tools as well as advanced features making it the perfect video editing software currently avaliable. The 142 provided transitions are wonderful. The program is missing a few things I would have added, but otherwise its great! Try this program, I know you will like it!

Summary: Backup often if you use this software
Review: Studio 7 is the only video editing software I have used. I found it worked fairly well, except for occasional software glitches. These were always frustrating, and sometimes destroyed entire files. Backup often!The bugs occured when adding transitions, and when adding voice overs.

Summary: Great Product
Review: The product is simply great. All features advertised on the box worked. I never worked with video editing in the past and now I'm hooked. Creating interesting home movies is easy but time consuming (but what worthwhile activity isn't). When I say the program is time consuming I mean that the creative possibilities are practically endless and you will constantly want to try something different here and there. The program is EASY yet powerful enough for the home user. I have several hours of edited home movies that I have shown to other parents and some have requested that I film and edit their children's birthdays and special occassions. They think I have created videos that are complicated and exciting! Use this program along with some simple filming techniques and people won't run when you show your home movies.

Summary: Excellent Capture and Editing
Review: The smart capture feature is far better than any other product I reviewed, including Ulead media Studio Pro 6.5 and Adobe Premier 6.0. All video clips are placed in an edit window for selection and inclusion in your video. Impressive titles and transitions can be readily generated. Ripping audio from a CD into your production is a snap. Other programs will only insert audi tracks already saved in wav or anothe pc compatible audio format. I found the output quality to be identical to the original. Another reviewer complained of poor output to SVideo. If you want quality video you need to burn a DVD; SVideo is nowhere near the quality of DVD. Alternatively, you can copy a MPEG2 file to a CD and view it with Windows Media Player. I suppose output to tape would also produce good results.

Summary: Not compatible with all hardware configurations
Review: The software has great potential, but doesn't work on my system or that of many others. In my case, Studio 7 allows me to import video, edit it, add transitions and music, then won't let me render it. In other words, I can't create a final product, so it's useless. If you check out the support board on the Pinnacle website, you'll see that many others are having similar or equally severe problems. I would not purchase this product unless you knew in advance that it would work on your system.

Summary: Don't buy it yet...
Review: The software is easy/simple to use... It captures video w/ ease and even determines cuts... editing is also a breeze... the problem came when it was time to come up w/ the finish product... the program hangs during rendering. Since purchasing it (even upgrading to the latest version), i have yet to come up w/ a finished project... todate, pinnacle has not solved this problem... check-out their discussion board... if they could only fix this problem then my review would definitely be different...

Summary: Bugs Galore
Review: They can't seem to get the product right. My daughter was working on a project for school. In the middle of editing, the software asked to do an automatic update. Ok, sounds good to me... Now the titles don't work and it won't record back to the video camera. It seems everytime they fix a bug a new one turns up. My daughter is now crying and..... You get the idea. Same thing happened on version 6 but we had problems adding music on another school project. It's really too bad because overall the software is easy to use. Just don't plan on doing critical editing with this program.

Summary: You can find something better!
Review: This is probably the easiest interface I've seen in an editing product....BUT (a big BUT) it is also the buggiest software I've ever dealt with! I can create a movie with ease, but the rendering process ALWAYS froze up on me! I checked the manufacturers website and MANY other people had the same problem and the same lack of a solution! I changed video drivers, I changed BIOS, I tried switching video cards and it always froze up on me! I came close to throwing this product through the window! You can do better than this...a more complicated interface would be worth avoiding the bigs in this software! You can do better than this!

Summary: Save Your Money and Your Time.
Review: This product has severe problems in the rendering process. Before purchasing I would recommend investing a little time on Pinnacles webboard and research the "...UNNAMED FILE" .... I'm going to try AIST's MovieDV Suite.
