Summary: It worked the first time -- sort of:
Review: I loaded Video Deluxe 2.0 on my Compaq 1.6 -- 80 GB, Windows XP computer. I ran about 12 minutes of video onto the hard drive in "raw" form. I later decided to delete this video after my trial with the download appeared successful. That was the last time this software ever worked. I am unable to download any additional video. This, after trying several "fixes" suggested by the Manufacturer. I am unsure if the problem is in the software or my system. I just know that I wasted $70.00!

Summary: Great editor for the price, powerful, rich in features
Review: I've been using MAGIX VIDEO Deluxe aside with other editors and DVD authoring programs (ArcSoft ShowBix, Pinnacle, Sonic MyDVD). I am very happy with the product, especially because it can be used in what does best (in my opinion: versatility and speed) while combining the work with other programs that fare better in other areas (especially easiness of use). PROS: Rich in features, versatile, flexible when used in conjunction with other programs. CONS: somewhat counter-intuitive. Also, it has some bugs (the most annoying I found is that if one tries to add a scene title and then removes the text content of the title, then the editor freezes trying to print the empty text onto the preview screen; the process must be killed, losing all unsaved work). In spite of its few short-comings, I give the product 5 stars for the nice range of features, high degree of versatility and acceptable degree of robustness that it has.

Summary: A big improvement over others I've tried
Review: I've tried the software that came with my Sony PC and it just didn't work very well - there were always jerky sections. I bought this software based on the reviews posted here and it works very well. Both my PC and digital video camera are made by Sony and I've had no conflicts or lock-ups. The only real issue I have with the software is that neither the manual or the help screens are very useful. They do a much better job pitching the features than they do describing how to actually use them. For example, I was unable to find basic instructions such as how to save a project! You have to learn by using the software, so assume you are going to ruin some DVDs while you are learning. You also are going to need a large hard-drive because a 55 minute video is going to eat up 11 gig.

Summary: Give it a try.
Review: It has 32 video tracks wich you can use as a audio tracks also. A lot of videos and audios effects. It's VISUALS isn't a "Digital Juice" but you can make some background for your videos.It comes with 3 CD's with a lot... yes, A LOT of cool staff: Tutorials,Animation,Green Box,Video Clips and Fotos, Music Styles ( you can use it with your ACID software, also),Effects Sounds. But...sometimes it freeze and if you do not save your work every 5 minutes,you gonna lose it.

Summary: I like it.
Review: It took some time to get a handle on it, it's not simple at first like Pinnacle. But once I got it, its been great. I like it way over Pinnacle Studio 8. It does everything I could ask and more. Pinnacle was easy at first but you can do so much more with Video Deluxe 2.0. I did have a problem with the sound not matching the video but after getting a patch from Magix it has been working great. You can do so much with this program. I keep trying new things with it. Tons of fun and for this price can't beat it.

Summary: The Best Out There!
Review: Okay, I tried all the other ones. Pinnacle, to be more specific. I got this and guess what..IT WORKS! I just got the new Sony DCRDVD300 (that camcorder that records direct to DVD) and I was looking for a software that I could edit my films. I tried everything and this one actually captures the movie and edits... and... oh my god..I can burn direct to DVD with no problem. And after I am done, I put the disc in my DVD player and it PLAYS. I think this is the best software out there. And believe me, I am what you call a "software junkie". I have them all.. DVD X Copy..etc. With Magix, Video 2.0 Deluxe, you can really edit, burn, copy..gosh...anything. I love it. And it recognized my brand new DVD burner (also from Sony). Make sure you have the right DVD discs so you can burn at max. speed which right now is 8x (of course, as you read, they are now coming out with 10x). I love this software. It is very rare (exept for Adobe and Jasc) that you buy a software and you can actually do what the box say you can do.

Summary: Great Product!
Review: Works just as advertised. Multiple tracks for video and audio makes creating and syncing video easy. The burn to Video CD feature works like a charm as well as the mix to Mpeg feature. The only critisism that I have is that it doesn't allow you to capture video to an AVI file. It defaults to the Magix format which is a smaller file but not as good of quality as AVI. I use either Dazzle 80 or Virtual Dub (Freeware) to capture and then edit and mix-down on Video Deluxe 2.0 Plus.
