Rating: Summary: Doesn't work on windows 2000 Review: Don't even think about buying it for 2000. Just to be very clear, I am running 2000 server. I have always loved Easy CD Creator from Adaptec, and when this product gets fixed, it will be great as well. It's just not ready for prime time right now.BTW, who is Roxio? Did they buy this product line from Adaptec? Too bad, they aren't doing a good job of QA. brian@innovtech.com
Rating: Summary: If you use Windows 2000, look out Review: I assure you, the other reviewers who mentioned possible Windows 2000 problems are not lying. If you do the default "Complete Install" you may be left with no way to get back into Windows. The culprit is the TakeTwo software that is bundled with this application. After it screwed up my machine, I called Roxio's tech support number (which is not toll-free) and after waiting on the line an hour, they helped me get back into my computer, and told me that TakeTwo is not compatible with Windows 2000, and should not be installed. I've been able to do a custom install, and if you only install the Easy CD Creator 5 application, you should have no problems. I haven't tried testing all the other applications that came with this set, but I'd imagine they'd work, just avoid TakeTwo. I do like the look and feel of the new version of the CD Creator application. It feels more robust, and the user interface is a little more intuitive than previous versions. I wrote up the problem I had over on my website, as well as what the fix is, in case Easy CD Creator 5 causes problems with your computer. [...]
Rating: Summary: Night and Day Review: Wow! This product is much more powerful than the last version! The interface is one of the best that I have seen. It also has a bunch of new video capabilities. This surely beats out the other guys like NERO and CLICK - AND BURN. Easy CD Creator rocks!
Rating: Summary: Get More RAM if You Don't Want Errors Review: This program works just like it should, burns CD's, creates Video CD's, and is easy to use. However, I couldn't figure out why I kept on getting "clicks" and "blerps" in my CD's. I had a brand new HP CD Burner so I knew it wasn't that. It was perplexing. I found out from my an old college friend that I needed more RAM. While the 32 or 64 megs will allow the program to operate, if you do ANYTHING else on your computer while you are burning the disc you will get errors. I bought a 256MB module for my computer through the... Memory Finder (found under Electronics, Computer Add On) and I have had no further errors. I highly recommend using this product with at least 256MB of Memory. P.S. The additional RAM makes the rest of my applications run about 5 times faster and the cost from ... was lower than anywhere else I could find on the web.
Rating: Summary: Upgrade for upgrade's sake Review: This product offers little or no improvement from the last version (OK, it's nice to be able to convert back to MP3 format from WAV, but how many shareware programs can do that?). I don't know about the W2K boot problems but the no CD text support bites! Oh, and your customer support runs out after 90 days...so think carefully........ not the most customer oriented company...
Rating: Summary: I thought it was great and had new features Review: I was a version 4 user, but now I bought version 5 and I think wow! Not only is it easier to use, but it includes music stuff to do that the old one didn't. Really, the music upgrades alone are worth it.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Software for Windows 2000 Review: This is one of the most intuitive pieces of sofware I have ever used. The interface is really very good and guides a user through even the most complex of tasks. It installed flawlessly on my Win2K PC and integrates cleanly with the desktop.
Rating: Summary: If you already have version 4 (deluxe), think carefully... Review: ... before upgrading. especially if you are an advanced user. If version 4 does everything you really need from CD burning software there is probably no need. The new features are nice, and the updated interface is certainly easier on the eyes but I was disappointed by a number of things, especially that this version does not support writing CD Text. Most of the things version 4 did version 5 doesn't seem to do much better, only prettier. A great package, just not a great upgrade.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Unbelievable Software! Review: I recently upgraded my computer's operating system to Windows 2000 Professional--the burning software that came with my computer wasn't compatible and my burner wouldn't work. I began searching for new burning software. I heard in the past that Adaptec's Easy CD creator was the way to go if you wanted the best, so I bought Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.0. After purchasing the software, I decided to check the reviews here on amazon.com, and in doing so I found that most people for pretty much hate the product. It caused crashes all the time--much like the Easy CD Creator 3.0 software that came with my computer did. So after reading the reviews, I decided to return the Easy CD Creator 4.0 and the next day, (pretty much), the 5.0 Platinum version came out. I read the reviews here and saw that people like the software so I decided to buy it. I have it now loaded on my computer, and I must say, it works like a charm. It causes NO crashes; it burn smoothly and cleanly--absolutely perfect. I burn mp3s from Napster onto CD, and they come out awesome! The features this product has are unbelievable. I couldn't give this software a higher recommendation. I suggest that if you are looking for burning software, you buy Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum. Like other reviews say, this software is the very best!
Rating: Summary: Windows 2000 KILLER Review: Thought to be a great piece of soft ware, if you can use it. The software rendered Windows 2000 Operating system useless. Windows 200 failed to boot, even in SAFE MODE, after installing this so called Easy CD Creator 5 PLATINUM. Windows 2000 user BEWARE! You might be the next victim. Wonder what ROXIO going to say about this problem. Can they make up the lost time to reinstall the operating system and the applications? It's not so easy anymore
