Rating: Summary: Easy CD Creator 5.0 not so easy Review: Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum is a lot of trouble for the price. I have to throw away about 5 cd's for every one that I sucessfully burn. That includes either data or music. This product goes through cd's like tissue paper and Roxio's solution is to reconfigure my PC for their software. My PC experience goes back all the way to the 1980's with a 386. I am currently running a 550p3 with 128 mg of ram, Win98se, with all the latest drivers etc. My advice, save your money and wait for the prices to come down or a competitor to come up with cd burner software that is not rocket science to use and such a waste of good cd's. I'm not at all pleased with this product.
Rating: Summary: Easy CD Creator Killed my System Review: I have never been more disappointed in a product. In spite of following all advice from Roxio tech support Easy CD creator still hard crashes my system every time I attempt to use it.
Rating: Summary: The box looks full - but its empty Review: The echo from the lack of functionality of this software may deafen you. ANY package can do what this one does - ANY. Don't pay this kinda money for basic features.I needed to copy some books on tape to CDs and this software has ZERO value. When copying, it inserts blank spaces - even when you elect "ZERO" time between tracks or "fade-in". This functionality simply does not work. In fact the option button to select fade-in doesn't even remember what was selected. I tried it 5 times, then rebooted and tried it twice again - it ALWAYS displays the default - Oh, well....
Rating: Summary: Definite Improvement Review: I started out using Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe, then upgraded to Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum. I have had no problems with the program, have burned many audio CD's, created many labels and inserts, and am looking forward to using some of the other features included in the Platinum version. For now, I am one happy camper and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to create music CD's that you can make even more special by customizing the labels and inserts with that "personal" touch.
Rating: Summary: It works. That's all you need to know. Review: Everybody who purchases a CD-RW needs to have a program which manages it. Sometimes this very program gets packaged with the CD-RW device, but sometimes it isn't. If it isn't, I recommend that you go out and get it. Easy CD Creator is a powerful program that allows you to burn your recordable CDs just the way you want. It has an intuitive interface that easily guides you through copying CD-ROMs, or burning your own from scratch. Data files or music CDs, it's all the same to Easy CD Creator. The program isn't perfect. I do not like how the program insists on installing itself to run whenever your computer starts up, but I've been able to turn this feature off without too much difficulty. If I need to burn a CD-ROM, I just turn the program on again, and there's the icon on my system tray. I can't turn it off without shutting down the machine, however. That's something that Roxio should fix. It should be my choice whether or not Easy CD Creator loads up on the computer's startup and sits and watches for a CD-R to get inserted into the drive... That and the price should come down fifteen bucks. However, if you have a CD-RW drive on your machine, you'll need this program. Best, James
Rating: Summary: Windows 2000 Agony Review: I had problems with this software and I eventually removed it. I later reformatted my harddrive and re-installed Windows (for reasons unrelated to the Easy CD Creator). Everything on my system was working working okay so once again I tried to install this piece of software. I knew that the Take Two software was a Win2000 killer so I did not install that portion of the software. The initial install went okay. When I went to pull the latest updates from the Roxio site it said that I should de-install the software first before following a very specific re-install & upgrade sequence. So I de-installed and I haven't been able to access my CD writer or my DVD drive since then. I have a support ticket in with Roxio but I've had it with them. I will never buy another product from these clowns again. I have never been stuck by a computer virus - but this is in the same league. You wind up with a crippled machine . . .Easy CD Creator 4 was a good product. I don't know what the heck happened with version 5 . . .
Rating: Summary: Just Easy Review: Easy CD Platinum's main purpose in my computer is to back up the hard drive. What are you gonna do when you get that virus, or Boom, lightening strikes and your computer is sizzling because you forgot to get a surge protector? Are you gonna cry? Or are you gonna say, "Well atleast I saved my hard drive!" You don't need to loose those pictures, or that paper your working on. If you have or are planning on getting a burner, and think its best to back up your hard drive...Easy platinum is the easy way to get it done. Nuff said.
Rating: Summary: EZ CD Creator Review: I found this program to be easier to use, than previous EZ CD Creator programs. The platinum versions also help me to creat wav files into mp3 files. No other program could help me do this. Now I can use my Rio with all music.
Rating: Summary: Worth every penny and then some! Review: I love this product! I bought it as an upgrade to the Easy CD Creator 4 that came with my CD-RW drive and bought it because of it's ability to easily make slide shows with digital pictures. It does everything I had hoped for in this respect and then some. The ease of making the slide shows is worth the money, even if you do nothing else with it but other components of the program are just as good! I recommend this program to anyone who wants an easy and fast way of burning cds and creating slide shows.
Rating: Summary: Problems abound Review: I have had no end of problems with this product, and the update makes them worse. I don't have any of the peripherals that Roxio claims are causing the problems, so I would recommend this procedure: uninstall 5.0 and go back to 4.0.
