Rating: Summary: Just give it some time Review: When I first began using this program it worked great. I had my cds burned quickly and easily and couldn't have been happier. Then, completely out of the blue, it just stopped working. It couldn't find any audio files or would say it was burning but never would. Surprisingly enough, the same thing happened on another computer that I had bought the application for. And do you think the customer service people were helpful? They never return emails and I gave up after sitting on hold for half an hour *multiple times*. Save your money and go with one that works.
Rating: Summary: DESERVES A ZERO, DO NOT BUY!!! Review: I installed this product on my PC after formatting my hard drive and this piece of junk locked up my PC. After losing 6 hours trying various ways to repair Win2k I had to reformat my hard drive again, losing weeks of work. How can a company sell a product which they state works with Win2k when it doesn't. (...)
Rating: Summary: Surprised To Be In A Minority... Review: After reading the phletora of negative reviews, I noted that the folks who liked this product were incredibly favorable. I must put myself in the latter category. I'm using the product with Windows XP, after the new operating system rendered my previous CD burning software useless. I found Platinum to be superior to what I had with good support under the XP platform. The mixing capabilities are grand, as well as the ability to store photos and video on a mixed media disc. I highly recommend this product for use with XP, especially if you're like me and Microsoft's latest OS has taken away your right to burn.
Rating: Summary: Creator Magic Review: I read the reviews. I was apprehensive to buy it with all the negative comments. But, I decided since I had had no problems with CD Creator 3 and 4, I would purchase the software anyway. I have made dozens of CD's and copies of them using my own pc and ECDC 5 Platinum is by far the best way to go. Truthfully, I had some problems at first on my old Pentium 2 with Windows 98. I even tried Nero, but that program is a loser in my book. I now have a Pentium 4 with Windows XP and since I got the latest download for XP from the Roxio website, my ECDC 5 is working smooth as silk. I highly recommend it, just make sure you check their website for patches and help if you have problems.
Rating: Summary: Great CD Burning Software!!!!! Review: This program is a very user-friendly program! It is so easy to use. I dont have the 5.0 version but i have an earlier one. With how easy my Burning software is i believe this must be a very easy burning software. I must agree it is #1 of the best!
Rating: Summary: The Bells and Whistles are Cute Review: Why doesn't Easy CD Creator recognize my second CD drive? These and other questions are bound to nag you if not stopping you dead in your CD-imaging tracks. Yes, you can kind of mix tracks. And yes, you can boost tracks so that they all record at the same level, but these perks work in two totally separate recording programs included in the Platinum software. Why are there 2 different recording programs? Ahhh, the questions, the questions.... For those of us who are philosophically minded, this program will provide hours if not days of contemplation. For those of us who actually want to record CDs, there must be a better program out there.
Rating: Summary: Music not photos Review: This product is fine for copying Music CD's, but it is a pain for photo files. The file formats are not compatible with lots of CD's so you can't share the CD like I expected you could. It is fine for backing up your files for playback on your own machine, but not for swapping. Maybe I'm not using the program correctly, but I've spent too much timing trying.
Rating: Summary: Bundleware Review: Just a bunch of old editing product slapped together with a low powered burner.
Rating: Summary: A Waste of Time & Money Review: I am VERY disappointed with this product! I originally had the 4.0 version bundled on my HP with Windows ME. It worked fine with no problems. I upgraded to 5.0 Platinum, because I wanted the extra features, mainly the cross fade effects. After reinstalling the software 5 times, it still runs incorrectly. I have even reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled all original software to my computer to get it cleaned of junk file that might interfer with this software. Originally the software would not open. After several rounds with technical support, I reformatted and reconfigured the operating system to match this software specs. Now I cannot record a music CD with out buffering errors that their support say are rare with this software. The errors are being blamed on my hardware. The cross fade effects DO NOT save with your playlist. If you want to try to copy again, you have to re-plug the cross fade times. I have spent too much time and money on this product to have these kind of problems!
Rating: Summary: Easy PC Destroyer Review: I gave this product one star only because I couldn't give it a zero! I am a computer professional and could not get the Windows 2000 patch to run. Multilple Roxio support requests resulted in getting the same non-working instrutions three times. At this point Easy CD Creator did actually work but I could not get the required patch to work. It did get worse. After upgrading to Windows XP and applying the Roxio XP upgrade, I could no longer use my CD writer. Removing Easy CD Creator would not fix the problem. I was forced to do a system restore to get a working CDR again. Every time I tried the update I would have the same problem. I am still waiting for Roxio's next words of wisdom. Buy some other product!
