Rating: Summary: If at first you succeed... Review: ...stop while you're ahead. Here's the deal: the software worked duckily the first few times on XP. Then, suddenly, when I was in a hurry to burn something for a long drive - plink! She breaks. Do yourself a favor, purchase Nero 5. It works, and that's what we all buy software for, isn't it? Lalalalala.
Rating: Summary: A Waste of Money Review: Installing the software to be compable with Windows XP is a real challenge. The tech support by email is a farce. I gave specific description of the problems I was having and after two days I received some canned responses that didn't address the problems I stated. Some were even for Apple. I resent my problems and this time I received no response at all from the tech support. This software is a waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Review of Easy CD Creator 5 Review: This is one of the most popular CD writer programs. It is more difficult than most to get set up, but it easy to use if your system meets their precise specifications. They are lacking in instructions and methods to get your system to sync with their software. Their on-line help is easy to use, but what you get back are canned responses which may or may not address the problem you stated. For example, I received responses for Apple systems when I clearly stated I was using Windows XP. Compared to other CD programs, Easy CD Creator 5 rates very poor.
Rating: Summary: Piece of Junk Review: I cant believe how a company that created Easy CD creator 4.0 can trash it so badly in the sequel. I have wasted a perfectly good sat afternoon installing this beast with the following headaches: 1. Try to add tracks from a CD to the playlist and it just sits there forever.. 2. Tried another laptop and it gives me a error saying cannot create ...,when I start up Easy CD Creator 3. soundstream just sits there initializing.... 4. Tried another and the machine wont shut down And its a HOG. It takes up over 200 M and it has to be installed on the boot drive. for those of us who have factory defined 2 G boot partitions are SOL. Yes I agree with another reviewer. This product WAS NEVER TESTED.
Rating: Summary: horrible, horrible, horrible Review: Words cannot express my fustrations with this product. Like a number of other people, I have spend countless hours installing and uninstalling this piece of nonsense on a W2K system. After several installs and uninstalls it magically worked for a couple of CDs and then just as magically stopped working and hasn't worked since. When it worked it was really slow and when it doesn't work, it crashes my system. There should be a law against people producing and selling [stuff] like this.
Rating: Summary: Don't be fooled, it's the best! Review: I updated to XP and than did my homework on several CD burning softwares for several weeks, Click'N Burn, Nero, ect. I found Allot of negative stuff on Roxio ECDC5, but took a chance and found it to be very easy to use and install, as long as you download the 2 updates on Roxio. The software is packed with allot of options. I think some people are not reading the instructions. Make sure your CD-RW is on their list, your CD-ROM supports "digital audio extraction", get any Roxio updates and you'll start burning CD's not coasters. It's really the best don't be fooled by others.
Rating: Summary: HORRIBLE!!! Review: Why is it that Roxio's latest software isn't compatible with the latest OS? Seems like a simple question. If you have Win 2k or XP, run away and try another program, sure this one is cute, but it crashed my system on numerious occasions. Bottom line - there are better programs, ones that at least thought far enough ahead to be compatable with the latest OS!!!
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: I'm running Windows 2000 Pro and my new computer came with Roxio basic installed. I tried that, liked it and ordered Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum. It developed into one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a program. On first installation the program wouldn't work correctly so I followed the instructions, downloaded the updates and started over. It still didn't work correctly. After a half-dozen tries I gave up and reinstalled the basic version. Now the basic version doesn't work correctly. To top it off, I didn't get any paperwork to process the rebate and it cost me the full price to throw it away.
Rating: Summary: "Easy Headache Creator" Review: The makers of this software obviously neglected to test their product thoroughly. As soon as I installed this software my computer would NOT shut off! It would perpetually restart when I clicked to shut it down. I thought it was a problem with XP. However when I spoke to MicroSoft tech support the guy told me that I was the 50th person to call with the same Roxio problem. As it turns out you have to download 2 Roxio driver updates, one of which must be installed twice. Step one for this product install should read "Take 2 asprins 30 minutes before installation".
Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware.... Review: You've probably heard ad nauseum the importance of backing up your critical data before making any significant changes to your system in the event of a system crash. Nah! Couldn't happen to me! I agree with many of the other reviewers here. DO NOT INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE WITHOUT BACKING UP YOUR SYSTEM FIRST, AND BACK IT UP REGULARLY AFTER INSTALLATION AS THIS SOFTWARE WILL LIKELY KILL YOUR HARD DRIVE. Prior to my recent system crash, which from everything I've learned was caused by this software, I would have given it a 4 rating. Really user friendly GUI; easy to use; somewhat limited features. Now, having put in over two weeks of all nighters to recover data and reinstall my operating system and applications, I wouldn't touch this or any product made by Roxio until they produce a more stable product. ...
