Summary: Platinum 5, problems with Win XP
Review: I recently installed Easy CD Creator Platinum 5 straight out of the box, nothing but problems. The software does not recognize my CD-RW drive so there is no way of using it. I have a VAIO desktop with Win XP and not only is the product useless but it also disabled the "Auto shut-off" feature of my compuer. When I ask my computer to turn off it re-boots instead of turning off. I have to turn it off by holding the on button. What is worse I uninstalled the software and the problem is still there. I am aware of the web patch/upgrade (17+ Megs, nightmare for phone line users) but it didn't solve all problems. I advise all XP users to hold off until a proper compatible version is released.

Summary: Need an upgrade for Version 4? 5.1 may disappoint you.
Review: I love Easy CD Creator version 4. So when I update my Operating System, I decided to upgrade Easy CD Creator. Navigation in the program from the audio to the data layout and to the label maker is not as easy as with the previous version. Worst of all, 5.1 will not open layouts made in version 4. So instead of an upgrade, 5.1 is basically a whole new product, in some ways inferior to the old one, but the old one will not work will Windows XP.

Summary: Roxio updates for xp work
Review: was having problems with roxio, but now that the updates are out, this program works great...fast burns, and nothing beats direct cd for allowing you to cut and paste to and from your cd. would recommend

Summary: A disappointed Roxio fan gives up on V5
Review: Don't waste your time or money. If you are running W2k or XP this software will not do half of what it says it will. The updates and fixes on the website DO NOT WORK! i spent hours following their instructions and downloading updates and fixes - and i still get the same errors. There's too many bugs and they're way too difficult to fix. i've been a fan of ez cd creator since it was 2.0 - and i've never been so dissatisfied until now. i made the switch to nero and hopefully things will be better.

Summary: The best
Review: I ignored the negative reviews and took a chance on this product. Once I got it up and running I was not disappointed. Hands down the best program of this sort on the market.

Summary: Know what you are doing
Review: The program is not for the faint at heart. While I love the way you extract songs from another cd a few other things are shady. Version 4 was much better. I went through the patches and it was not simple, so if this is not your thing be careful or get help. I would like to to talk to roxio about little annoying quirks that would make this a "perfect" version. So if they are interested......

Summary: Thank You All for all your negative reviews!
Review: Finally bought my first computer 4 days ago and have been eagerly spending nearly all my free time since then immersed in it and finding out what all it can do. I'd say so far it's been 3 parts elation and 2 parts frustration. Compaq's tech support has been very helpful each of the 3 times I've called them absolutely stumped as to how to solve my extensive "Not Responding" problem, but they couldn't pinpoint the culprit. Now I think I know... ROXIO! (For you Seinfeld fans, think, "Neuman!") Twice I've tried to do the seemingly simple task of recording a single song from a regular CD to a CD-RW and twice my computer completely seized up on me to the point where none of the normal shutdown methods worked. I had to resort to hitting the power button (but holding it for 30 seconds according to the Compaq rep) and that was what finally worked. I didn't quite go as far as yanking the power cord like that one guy, but I definitely understand his frustration. It's true folks... RUN AWAY!...RUN AWAY!... ...

Summary: Not compatible with Windows XP and upgrade doesn't help
Review: Until the latest version, Easy CD Creator was a good, simple product. The version now available is not compatible with Windows XP. The box advertises "free upgrade" available for download. This is a patch, an unsuccessful attempt to make the program work with XP. Read the other reviews and find a product that works. We purchased Extreme Media Digital Studio, which costs less, does more, and does it well. Probably other products exist, also. Avoid this one.

Summary: not all it claims to be
Review: Great for music, have experienced no problems,
BIG problem is in data writing to blank cd-rw media,
even when purchased blank media recommended by burner mfrg have been unable to rewrite and in many cases my pc will not always recognize a cd i have made. Have worked with tech assist to solve, they are incapible of helping. Roxio tech support is a joke, no one there has been able to assist in solving problem, they continue to recommend I purchase different media. They do not understand that with older version that came with burner I could write and re-write data with any media, my system has not changed much since I used old version, they blame the system yet my pc meets all of their requirements. I have politely contacted their 'customer service' department for help in resolving or refunding money for program that is not as advertised and was told to contact tech assist. I purchase this software based on their early versions success and the ability to call (not e-mail) a tech person to assist when needed, wow what a misguided premise. I recommend that you do not purchase this software, you will not be happy.

Review: Save your money totally worthless, Installed in factory installed XP not an upgrade. What a mess nothing but trouble, if not for System Restore I would have had a real problem. I understand many others have had trouble.
