Rating: Summary: system require Review: I discoverd it required 700 MHz to install after I installed into my PC with only 400 MHz CPU. but it's still running so well. Excellent graphic and media....
Rating: Summary: Minus! Review: What a scam! The majority of Plus! for Windows XP is just demoware, that is, software that teases you a little and then requires additional money to get the full product. For example, a really nifty screen saver that simulates an aquarium is included. You get a few fish swimming around. If you want more fish (which you will) you have to buy them! All the games included are demos too. Want the full version? Shell out more cash. This happens because most of this product is actually made by 3rd party vendors and not by Microsoft. Of course, none of this is mentioned on the Microsoft Plus! web site. (...)Lucky you. Plus! is definitely a minus.
Rating: Summary: Plus! is a rip off Review: The Aquarium screen saver was excellent... however, to add additional fish, you have to purchase them for $19.95. The other screen savers were not worth installing. Two of the games were "lite" versions and offered limited play.Definetly not worth purchasing.... THUMBS DOWN.
Rating: Summary: I like it ----but! Review: I like Plus and so I won't tell you one way or the other as to buy or it or not, if you like the cool things for your PC then you probably will. I will however warn you that you need to make sure that you video card is compatible. The 3-D graphics are sweet but very demanding, so make sure your compatible before you buy or you won't get the 3-D screensavers which are cool, the new games and the dancing media stuff.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Product, Abyssmal Support! Review: WARNING: This product is terrible. Support is worse! I bought Windows XP yesterday. It will not load on my system, which is more than adequate to the task. It bails out of install with an error code of 3e6h, and nothing on the Microsoft website tells you what this is about. In addition, the upgrade version I am trying to install has hosed up my Millenium Edition and now I have a whole wonderland of problems. I just spent 45 minutes on HOLD, after finally getting through their front group and being referred to a technician. 45 minutes, and on your own dime yet! And why? Because XP is so fraught with failings that they are swamped with calls! AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE! In a day when we now are beset with worries about anthrax, this is like the electronic version delivered in a box to cause more grief than it is worth. I have been working with computers for years, have upgraded many times, and never had troubles like this. My fond hope is that I can score a refund on money poorly spent on a product that lacks support or value to the average consumer. I only gave this product one star, because there was no option for none at all!
Rating: Summary: Nice, but incomplete and overpriced Review: At first blush, this is a nice package of add-ons for XP, and indeed there are some solid aspects to the product. For the media player there are a few new skins and a couple cool visualizations. There is also a nifty voice control add-on that is fun but not 100 percent accurate. There are four new desktop themes: Da Vinci, nature, space and underwater. There are eight new screensavers, the coolest of which is the aquarium, which looks nothing short of incredible. The others are so-so to pretty good. There are three new games, Hyperbowl which is a good substitute for solitare, Labyrinth, and Russian Square which is a decent Tetris spin-off. The problem is that in many cases, you are actually getting what amounts to a preview version of these features. For instance, the aquarium screen saver says you can find more fish online, but when you click the link, you find out you have to pay $20 for an upgrade that includes 20 fish rather than the three it comes with. And the Hyperbowl, which shows off six different lanes like bowling in ancient Rome or on the deck of a ship, actually lets you play only two of them. To unlock the others you need to pay... you guessed it, $20 for an upgrade. Finally, the hardware requirements are tougher than what XP itself requires. This is odd, since the product is sold as an extension of XP. But when I first installed it on a 450-Mhz Dell with 224Mb RAM and a 64M Voodoo graphics card, the new screensavers wouldn't work because Plus! didn't support the Voodoo card (Voodoo's maker, 3dfx, went out of business recently). Fortunately there was an XP update available on Oct. 25 that included better 3dfx support so it all works fine. So in short there are some decent features and some definite product, but in my mind for $40 you should be getting the full versions of everything they put in there, or at least offered MUCH cheaper upgrades, like $5.
Rating: Summary: Plus! is way cool Review: I love the fish! It is so much fun... My Dad got me started using the voice command for the media player and it is really neat. I also like the bowling. It is hard, but really fun. You'll like it...
Rating: Summary: The 3D graphics are Cool! Review: Get yourself a great Video card and you can enjoy incredible graphics. The Space theme and screensaver are way phat and out of this world. Using my voice to tell the Media Player what to do adds to the futuristic feeling. Plus totally lets me leap ahead a few years into the future. It even improves the sound of my Microsoft Speakers. I thought they were great when I first bought them but Speaker Enhancement really makes them sound excellent. Plus even improved my bowling scores, at least on the computer.
