Summary: Corrupted my TCP/IP stack
Review: After I installed this program on my Windows 2000 system, I was not able to access any internet sites at all. Later on I found out that the program somehow corrupted my TCPIP stack. I had to consult my IT expert to get this fixed. Users beware.

Summary: Nice software
Review: Filterkeys software diagnostics helped me find a piece of spyware called Gator on my PC (*which I did not know I had!). Gator blocked my internet connection after Filterkeys was installed. When I ran the diagnostics and emailed them to Softappco, they informed me that I had spyware, and needed to remove it. I did, and everything works fine. It's not always simple to install software and get it to work, so the diagnostics and customer service really proved their value to me. This software is fairly simple to use, and once I set it up for each user, it just works. Not 100% accurate at filtering obscenity, but pretty darn close. It records and blocks obscenity according to individual user settings and I can review the log of surfing, email, WEB mail, and other low level things for each user. Owner's manual is OK, but could be indexed better. I am pleased with the product.

Summary: Doesn't Work
Review: I bought this product because my 6 year old grandson lives with me. Ever since we went with a cable connection, I get unwanted pornography even when I am not surfing the web. There is a family friendly site I use very frequently that does not have so much as a swear word on it. The program blocks that site routinely. I have entered the URL and hit override as suggested, and it does not work. Temporarily disabling the software is cumbersome - and unclear. It also will not let you view large portions of the home page for MSN, even on minimum security settings. It blocks hotmail completely. It was a waste of money. I now have to look for something else.

Summary: A product that works
Review: I have Filterkeys installed on three PC's in my house, and it gives me enough filtering protection and monitoring to feel relaxed about letting my family online. Filterkeys goes the extra mile in my opinion and specifically filters search engine searches AND results. It's a good thing, because it's easy to get unwanted explicit search results, and only Filterkeys cleans these up. It has a block list, allow list, and a good Internet history log. That's my favorite part of the program, because I can see "patterns" of surfing and obscenity detected. Email can be filtered for obscenity, and it records all the email addresses used on Hotmail, Yahoo mail, and POP3 email, so you get a pretty good idea of what people are doing with Internet and email. It works for me, and I would not want to have a PC without it for home use.

Summary: The best solution I've found
Review: I've tried atleast 3 other filter packages and either they just didn't work, caused conflicts, were too inflexible or all of the above. FilterKeys/FamilyKeys is easy to install, works well, and is completely configureable and flexible.

I've set up different user/logins and setup different configurations for each, using the Historian I can verify that I'm not letting anything slip through.

This SW is Great!

Summary: FilterKeys is *exactly* what I've been looking for...
Review: Internet filtering software usually falls under 1 of 4 categories: 1) too expensive, 2) too complicated, 3) not enough features, or 4) too taxing on your computer. I'm happy to say that FilterKeys passes all of these categories with flying colors.

First of all, FilterKeys costs less than thirty dollars. Not bad at all. Secondly, this product is really pretty easy-to-use. I think this is the area that could use the most improvement 'cause there is a lot of information squeezed into just a few tabs. That said, it doesn't take long to figure out where to go to do what you need. Also, the manual is fairly well written. Thirdly, FilterKeys has more features than you can shake a stick at (if you're into that). I was able to uninstall my old pop-up blocking program 'cause FilterKeys handles that as well! Lastly, this is one streamlined product. Competing products (CyberPatrol) sometimes require as much as 30megs of memory! That is unacceptable. FilterKeys, on the other hand, takes about 5megs of memory and has been completely stable. I couldn't be more happy.

All in all, this is one superb product. They have a great product that runs well and does not cost a lot. Also, their support center has been very helpful.

If you're interested in a great Internet filtering package for home or the office, check out FilterKeys. You'll love it!

Summary: Poor Support
Review: Please buy with care, I purchased FilterKeys as part of the FamilyKeys product only two months ago now and I still cannot use it.
FamilyKeys is actually a combination of two other products, CPUkeys and FilterKeys. Although both products seem to fit the bill as far as functionality goes, I am unable to register either of them. I have valid serial numbers but the registration process does not work. You will not receive any support from the resellers of the licenses and there seems to be only a single support person for these products at softappco.
Repeated e-mails only received a muted response, and that after days of waiting. Apart from issuing even more serial numbers for me to try and use, they seem completely incapable of dealing with any thing other than selling you the product.
So in short, purchase with care, if all goes well you may never have a problem, but if like me, you get even a minor technical hitch, be prepared to live with the consequences and lose your investment.
Its a shame because of all the products I tested, this bundle seemd like the best choice.

Summary: Exactly what I wanted, very responsive developers
Review: The software has exactly the features I need, and I barely notice the impact on computer performance. The software developers are very responsive. At first I had problems with getting the serial # from amazon, but the developers promptly gave me a new #. When I got the software installed, there was one annoying bug, but within 3 days, they fixed it and had a new version ready for download. Since they include lifetime free upgrades, I was able install it and register it with no problems. I highly recommend this software. One nice feature that others seem not to offer is the ability to filter web based e-mail such as hotmail.

Summary: Absolutely Terrible Product
Review: This is the worst experience I have ever had with software. I spent an entire day trying to get this to work properly. I changed the settings around according to the maual and all I ever got was a ban on every single internet site. It would not allow viewing of anything no matter what I did. Also, my computer has not worked right since installing this program, it keeps have "serious errors" now. THIS IS A TERRIBLE PROGRAM AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
