Summary: Not worth the Money
Review: My experience has not been good using this product. My internet connection (cable) actually ran slower after I adjusted the settings with System Mechanic 3. Some of the graphics on the websites also began to not load.

The File Removal feature only found 8 mg. of temporary files to delete, out of a total of 6 gigs.... not much of an improvement. The Registry adjustment was equally disappointing, as my computer did not run faster after SM3 adjustments. Only because SM3 did find 8 mg. of files to delete, I gave it a rating of 2 stars.

The program didn't do any harm to my system, but it did not live up to the praise other reviewers gave it.

Summary: Valuable, Powerful Utility
Review: System Mechanic takes care of a number of Windows problems, both large and small. The file cleanup function alone is worth the price. Gets rid of all sorts of Windows trash files at the click of a button. The startup manager will let you adjust what comes up when you start windows quickly and easily. Read the help files and check for updates frequently.

Summary: Some useful features...
Review: The internet optimization feature was helpful, as was the registry tool, but most other settings aren't that much of a help. I consider myself a power user (I'm a programmer), and there are much better tools than this one...

No harm was done when using it and it's working ok, that's why I'm giving 4 stars. If only the authors included more functionality, it'd have the potential for being a great utility.

Summary: Defective product
Review: There is a known issue with this program and HP computers running Windows XP which I found out AFTER it totally messed up my system. Their useless tech support department which is apparently only one person...kept getting the same guy every time I called. I called and explained my computer's "symptoms" - before I even finished he says; "so what kind of Hewlett Packard computer are you using?" I was infuriated. Apparently, the program mistakenly erases an invalid font file(s) which essentially turned my computer into mush; could not boot the computer again. A destructive restore was the only option to get me running again. Tech support and management personnel didnt care that I lost alot of data and irreplacable pictures and such; no calls or emails were returned after the incident occured. There is no mention of this defect their website or in the readme file. I would not trust this deceitful company nor their defective products. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: System Mechanic
Review: This is bad software! I lost most all of my programs and files using this trash on my DeskPro running Windows 98. I had run it several times before; however, the last time it ran uncontrolled until I noticed a runaway situation. By the time I hit cancel, which did not work, it had wiped out about 80% of my programs and files. Avoid this trash product!
