Summary: Excellent ! A bargain at twice the price.
Review: I tried out the demo and even though it was the demo version, it mananged to squirrel out several instances of resident spyware and it easily neutralized the
rotten lil spyware pukes!

It's rare to find a real WORKING demo of any software.
(most demo's alert you to a problem, but then make you buy the full version, in order to remedy the problem situation)

So I am most definitely buying the full version.

At 29.99, it's definitely a bargain.

The interface is easy enough for any computer neophtyte to navigate.

A definite winner.

It's not free, but then.....is anything worthwhile really ever free?

If you don't pay for something outright, you often times have to endure nag screens or advertisements.

2 Thumbs Up !

A sure winner !

Summary: COMPUTER SLOWED
Review: I tried this program for about a week and i found that the use of this program drastically slows down even the newest computer. Buy a different program, I use Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Summary: Very good product
Review: I've been looking into the spyware problem for a while now and have already installed several other spyware removers and blockers, but Spy Sweeper found four other forms of spyware on my computer and removed them. It's very easy to use. The only thing I don't like is the fact that you have to renew your subscription yearly to keep getting updates, unlike the freeware Spybot and Ad-aware. But for piece of mind I think it's worth it. That's the only thing keeping me from giving it a full five stars, but other than that it's great and I'd highly recommend it.

Summary: No customer support for Webroot
Review: I've been using Spy Sweeper for nearly two months. The program claims to find and remove adware from your computer. For the past two months, Spy Sweeper finds the same three software traces and claims to remove them. The problem is the same three software traces reappear each time I start my web browser. There is a feature with the program that allows you to contact Webroot if you are experiencing problems. I contacted Webroot and they wrote back asking me to run a program called Hackthis and send them the results. In the meantime, I am not supported to reboot my computer until they get back with me. That was two months ago! I've sent two other emails to them describing the problem, but they have failed to answer them at all. None of us need to buy programs from companies that do not support their own products. I'm not sure where to send you, but do not waste your money on Webroot products. They are not willing to support them.

Summary: Excellent Software
Review: I've tried the free spyware removers including Adaware and Spybot. Those were pretty good, but Spy Sweeper was able to detect and remove files and registry keys that were undetected by the other two.

Summary: good scan, bad running program
Review: In my experience, SpySweeper is very high in the ranks of locating spyware. PestPatrol, SpyBot, and AdAware are always going to each find spyware that the others won't, due to different definition lists, probably, and what each company thinks is a threat (i.e. PP wants you to have no filesharing software nor any wild tangent software). SpySweeper is a good choice if you were to purchase just one, in my opinion. The shields are really great, especially the ones added in version 3.0, HOWEVER!!! in my experience, having SpySweeper running on my computer is proving to be very harmful. In an idle state (no internet browsers open either) it uses 100MB OR MORE of my ram, which is strange, so it could be a problem just with my setup or installation or something. I recommend the software, but think twice before you use the shields, possibly look into some other realtime autoprotect.

Summary: Slow on the Computer & Even Slower Support
Review: It does slow up the computer even in the low priority mode. Their support people I do not think exist as I have written twice with no response. I know it is a "cheap" program but when they offer support I expect them to give it.

Summary: Greatest software ever!
Review: My computer was a disaster riddled with spyware. Probably because of Kazaa. I thought it was a simple virus which I found with Norton, and until now I had never heard of spyware. My computer still was slow as heck and barely moving on the internet after the virus was quarantined. I thought the computer was toast.

But I did some research and decided to take a chance on Spy Sweeper. For $30 it was a lot cheaper than a new computer or an expensive tech repair. To my astonishment, the program found 103 cookies? in about 10 minutes, and in another 15 minutes, and after rebooting, my PC was good as new.

As long as it continues to sweep, Spy Sweeper rules!

Summary: It caught the trojan horse Norton missed
Review: My identity was stolen. I purchased this software because someone told me I may have spyware on my computer. I have Norton Anti-Virus on my computer but after I ran Spysweeper, it caught a trojan horse Norton missed. This is how they stole my identity using a key stroke copier trojan horse. If I had run this program (Spysweeper) it never would have happened.

Summary: General issues on Spyware removal
Review: My son was doing web research for a science project and inadvertantly clicked ok on a download which has since brought me untold misery trying to remove and keep off hidden spyware. Any anti-spy software like this is doing G*d's work getting rid of this junk but it is a sometime thing - it keeps coming back. Once they got your number you're in trouble. There are over 1,000 of this junk and eternal vigilence is the only solution.

I have used Spybot (free, but if you use it you really should send them some money unless you want the spy creeps to win) with some success but the spyware modifies your registry as well and fooling with that can be very tricky. On Windows XP I have had to abandon one admin acct and set up another because Spybot modified too many things to immunize me against further infections. Maybe Spy Sweeper will be better.

I don't know whom I hate more - the spyware guys for taking my machine over or Microsoft for allowing such security holes in the first place.
