Description:

Iomega Quik Sync 3 provides an automatic and transparent way to keep important files safe from user or machine malfunctions. Every time a user saves a file to their hard drive or to a network drive, Quik Sync 3 will automatically and transparently make a copy of that file to a network drive, hard drive, or removable drive (including all Iomega drives). Quik Sync 3 comes with an easy-to-use wizard that leads the user through the initial setup. Once configured, Quik Sync 3 runs in the background. Unless you want to change the settings, you won't have to interact with the program. Files are saved in their native format so restoring a file is as simple as using the Explorer feature in your operating system.

Quik Sync 3 backs up files automatically and transparently. Files that are saved to designated folders are automatically copied to the designated sync location--the files are copied transparently without further user intervention. Users can select multiple folders from either their hard drive or a network volume for Quik Sync 3 to monitor. The same folder structure is created in the sync location to make finding files easy. Although Quik Sync 3 automatically sets up everything for a typical user, it also allows for scheduled backup times and other user preferences. Users can choose to save revisions of files instead of overwriting files that have been previously copied to their sync location. Files can be filtered by file extension type. Quik Sync 3 can exclude specified file types when backing up files (e.g., exclude all temporary (.TMP) files). If something goes wrong, restoring files is simple: access the designated sync location and drag the files to the preferred location on the desktop; no decompression required. An administrator's guide is available to help IT professionals control the setup and implementation processes within their organizations.
