Summary: D2 made me love RPGs.
Review: I had never played, or had the desire to play, an RPG before. I was strictly a first person shooter game type of girl. Even watching my boyfriend play Diablo 2 was unbearably boring.And then I tried it myself.... It's easily the most addictive and fun game I've ever played. The game is fun in so many different ways, and the re-playability factor is high: You can play through the game as either an Amazon, Necromancer, Paladin, Sorceress, or Barbarian (also Assassin and Druid in the expansion pack), and when you beat the game on Normal difficulty level, you get a title added to your name to show off the fact that you're God and have the option of playing again on the next higher difficulty level. Another thing that makes this game cool is items, items, items. There are so many set items and unique items, and trying to find them or trade for them is a game in itself. I would definately recommend this game to anyone interested in RPGs. It's quite un-buggy, and is exciting to play. If I were you, however, I would invest a bit more money and purchase the Expansion Pack as well. Now stop reading this and go play Diablo 2.

Summary: Best Game Ever!!!
Review: The Graphics are not the greatest anyone has seen, but no other game provides as many hours of fun as Diablo II does. One of the real advantages of this game is you can just install it and play. You don't have to read a book the size of "War and Peace" to understand how to play. You level up at a rate that makes you want to never stop playing. This game also has the perfect balance of Magic Items and different things to make you want to keep adventuring. I've played it all the way through with every character class and enjoyed a different experience each time. I bought the expansion pack and played each character through that. I'm waiting for another expansion or something. I just can't get enough of this game! Every Blizzard game released is a good quality game. If your sick of getting games that don't work that well or are full of bugs before and after patches are applied(ie Buldar's Gate, the new Pool of Radiance), you can find comfort in the fact that Blizzard doesn't release garbage software in a cool box. They put excellent software in a cool box. They also provide great quality FREE on-line play at Battle.net. Blizzard is a top-notch company devoted to top-notch gaming software. Blizzard is a member of an elite group of software companies that take pride in their products.

Summary: Better than the first
Review: Diablo 2 by Blizzard Entertainment is a great strategy game and can be fun. However the fun starts wearing off after the first set of quests is complete. The game then takes on the role of not being a game but a task. Trust me, using the mouse to point your character get's very tiring and dull. It made put the game aside due to lack of time as well as excitment towards the game. The reason why I gave it a 3 is because it is way better than the first Diablo and can be fun if a person (1) never played the original Diablo and (2) has a few days to sit in front of a computer and play the game. One more insight, the Battlenet feature does increase the fun and excitement, but that will only last until the first hacker kills you and steals everything from you. Diablo 2 just isn't fun, it's a workout which gets very tiring.

Review: well, what else can i say about this? my gpa this semester is only b plus. although it's acceptable in a graduate school, i really don't like it.

Summary: Great, but repetitive
Review: Most people remember the old game Diablo. Unfortunetly for me, i didn't. I thought as I started playing that I would stink, at it, and I was right. But after a while I got better, and played this game for hours. Then, the inevitable happened. I got bored!The game was really good, considring the fact that the graphics are very sketchy and need more pixels, butthe gameplay more than makes up for it. The sound and controls are very good, if not great. Overall, this is a great game with goo sound and control, but very repetitive. So I recomend this game to anyone who is not easily bored.

Review: I really did not like this game. First of all, the fact that you HAVE to do every single quest and there is only about 20 quests makes the game very narrow. After playing any of the Fallouts and any of the Baldur's Gates game, you can see how pathetic Diablo quests are. Once I beat this game, i tried to replay it. It was so monotonous i could not finish it. The redundancy of only having a certain amount of quests and the utter fact that its just a repeat of itself is totally boring. When i played, Battle Net for Diablo 2 was so overloaded even though I had DSL, i lagged a lot. I tried the expansion which was fun....for a week, b4 it got so boring i had to admit i wasted another $30. From now on im sticking to Interplay and Black Isle games.
Im a heavy RPG'er and I say buy Baldur's Gate 2, for it is infinately better.

Review: If you think PC games are all show and no go these days, then think again. Diablo II brings to the table addictive, almost old-school type gameplay (it even reminded me of Zelda at times), rich sound effects, an involving storyline and adequate enough visuals to complement them, that it will keep you hooked for hours on end. I haven't played the first Diablo, so Diablo II was my introduction to the series. In Diablo II you get to choose from five character classes which are barbarian, sorceress, amazon, paladin and necromancer. Each class is unique and has its strengths and weak points. For example the barbarian is great at close-up combat but is poor in the magic department and the sorceress is almost completely magic-dependant whereas paladin has equal amounts of both. This game is divided into "acts," which are sub-divided to various missions. You start off at a rogue encampment in act I, and then move onto the desert town of "Lut Gholein" in act II (which is as far as I went before being deprived of my copy due to the addiction). I had a little trouble conquering the "arcane sanctuary" with paladin. Aside from doing what you are told by townsfolk, you can also buy and trade weopons, armour, head-wear, belts and numerous other items, which proves to be half the fun of the game. You can store some of your gear in your private "stash" found in each town, as well as keep a fair amount with you during your missions. To make things less nerve-cracking, the game makes use of "waypoints," so that when a new area is discovered and if its waypoint is found, even if you die you can warp right there again. Also, if you die once and "save and exit" the game your corpse will be in the town in the next game, so all the weopons and items can be recollected. It's a very wise decision to make during the harder, more remote missions. The visuals, though not upto current standards, are quite adequate. They don't need much improving at all. The sound effects and voices are quite crisp too. Also, prepare for all the gore you crave for, whether it be bashing up a "quillrat," a "sabercat" or one of the game's many bosses. There are various skills to be learnt which are unique to each character, as well as various shrines that refill life, magic, increase your combat skills or improve protection temporarily (plus a few more). Diablo II is a very big, very involving and very addictive game with a lot of tasks to perform and a vast amount of weopons and rare items to be found, so anyone is going to have his/her hands full. And I am rating it five stars by playing it only halfway through! That's saying a lot.
