Summary: Incredible!!
Review: Through sheer scope and magnitude 3DO has created one of the most impressive games to date. Every time you log in you are guaranteed a new experience as the combination of software upgrades, and player agendas ensure an ever changing environment. This game is not for the individuals who can not commit the time, and effort through the first several levels as initial game play is slow and frustrating. However as soon as you begin upgrading your personal resources, weapons, and financial resources this game really takes off. A must have for anyone who enjoys combat flight SIM's with political overtones.

Summary: goal?
Review: well the main problem in jumpgate is the lack of reason to play, you play diablo, you want to kill diablo, you play starcraft or allegiance, you want to kill your ennemies, you play a race game, you wants to win, but then you play jumpgate, at frist, yu see the mission computer and wants to suceed the missions, since it's persistant, you feel like doing something helpfull, but after some hours, you notice that beside raising a % slowy it does no good, when it reach 100%, a new base appear, big deal... the missions are easy... well more than easy, most are just travelling somewhere, do something, then come back, 95 of the time you won't meet any opposition. the graffics aren't bad, the stations are amazing and they are a must see, but i wouldn't pay $40 to see a space station in a game that i won't play anymore. the combats arealmost inexsistant(unless you go in the simulator). there is no reason to fight, no reason to do the boring missions. the 3 factions are allied with each other. the only reason buying the game would worth it, it would be to be a part of the community, and maybe have some good chat(since chatting is funnier than playing).

Summary: OK, It's actually pretty fun
Review: Well, I have to amend my 2-star review of this game. It's pretty much got me hooked, and I have a fun time with it. The developers have made a few changes to the game that perk it up a bit, and the game is deep enough to where you can grow into it. The only remaining problem I have with the game is that it does take a while to figure out how to really enjoy it. When you first start out running transport or mining missions it can be a bit tedious. The solution I found to this is to occasionally enter the "simulator" mode and get some heated PVP combat practice. Joining an active squad is also quite helpful to game enjoyment. The game continues to be actively developed, so it continues to grow and improve. If you give it a chance, this one's a winner!

Summary: Freedom at best
Review: You get to be whatever you want to be in this universe. Its big, flying around pushes your adrenaline even after 300 duty hours. Its fast to learn, requires negotiation, organisation, practice and a good bit of care to build up your own realm. Teamwork is vital for success no matter which way you chose for yourself to go.
The universe keeps evolving along the storylines the players create, even new ships and equipment are manufactured given the players take care of the research support and raw material supplies. Trading as well as spare part supply are vital for any squad and even the fleets to stay operational.
Player interaction is a big factor of influence on the happenings in this game, the borders between operations commissioned by government and player characters become blurred.
The continuous menace coming from the hostile alien race of the confluxx rounds off the whole experience of this consistent yet ever advancing universe.
This game is strongly recommended for any space sim, scifi trade, and massive multiplayer game fan.
