Summary: It's good, but...
Review: I just played it with a friend. It's kinda hard to get the characters where you want them in a battle. Making characters is fun. Anyway.....It's good. -Hylio

Summary: Nothing Better
Review: If your looking for the best, most engaging CRPG on the market, this is it. Will keep you hooked to you computer for far too many hours.

Summary: Enjoy slow motion animation battles that put you to sleep?
Review: This game eats your computer up. Gives you bad control over the characters. The characters spend more time standing there than fighting. I can go get a coffee and come back and they would have just begun to trade blows. Load load load. Insignifant mission after mission. Moody characters that are supposed to be your friends. Interface...terrible. Annoying pictures. Annoying smart remarks. Did I mention load load load? Click click click, oops I missed the treasure chest again. Oops I am attacking my own player again.

THIS GAME SUCKS. I'd rather play Pacman; at least he won't stare at his enemies for 5 seconds before he attacks him. This game frustrated me so much it deserves -5.

Better than Diablo2? Only "BlackIsle Amazon.com surfers" and "Die hard Baldure's Gate already mind made up fans" would say so.

I look down the list of comments and I noticed your comments only help if you give a positive one. Go ahead, say my comment didn't help. I'd rather keep my integrety than please people with what they want to hear.

I wouldn't be surprised if Black Isle staff has been here stop IP and User hopping to discredit negative reviews; only die hard fans are falling for it.

Black Isle will get no more of my money or time. Blizzard is better and so are many other companies.

Long Live Valve!

Summary: Best Game Ever Made? Or second To Diablo 2?
Review: This Game is Awsome! I Have had it for almost 2 weeks and am 1 quest away from chapter 4. I am a female Paladin and am enjoying the fact that I can use almost any item I want. This game has an easy and understandable gameplay with lots of things to do to challenge avid gamers yet still make it fun for a first time player. I was thinking to myself that this game is THE BEST EVER until I had a quest givin to me in chapter 3. I was offered help by two different guilds who are at war, so I am stuck in the middle of this war and I am constantly chased by Vampires. If I would have sided with the other guild I would have been chased by mage assasins, they are both horrible. So after I received this quest the game suddenly got extremely Hard. I was thrown into something I didn't want a part of and now I am dying a lot more then before. To answer my own question this game is not second to Diablo 2 and deserves at least the: GAME OF THE YEAR title from the magazines. Go check this game out, you won't regret it~!

Summary: Wow
Review: I bought the original Baldur's Gate and that has been the best game I ever played. So I was excited to get this one. I would give it 4.5, but they don't let you do that. The only reason I don't give it 5 is because it is not as good as the original. Don't get me wrong, this is great, but not as good. The character kits make the game much more interesting and lend a much higher replay value. Also, get this over Diablo 2. I have played that quite a bit and it is not that great. That game stresses bashing your enemy over the head with a sword several times, while the BG series stresses stategy.

I have also read reviews that this game doesn't always work. Well, I don't even have all the requirements (let alone the recommended stats) and it works flawlessly on my machine with no sacrifice on quality. If you don't yet have BG1, I would recommend buying that first. It's cheaper, and in my opinion, better. Also, when you are done, you can import your character into BG2.

All in all, a great game!

Summary: Baldur's Gate II: Outstanding and Impressive
Review: This game is an absolute godsend. As stated in the first review I ever did on Amazon, I was not a fan of the role playing genre before this series came along. Since then, it has been a marriage made in heaven. Of course, my better half does not appreciate the time I spend with this series of games. Warning: Could Lead To Divorce!!!

In BGII you are a descendant of the god Bhaal. This leads to your kidnapping and torture at the hands of Irenicus. The story develops from this premises. You will find many positives to this game including: 1) Partial use of AD&D 3rd edition rules. 2) Inclusion of kits for the main classes of characters which leads to specialization 3) The ability to import your character from BGI 4) Massively improved graphics 5) Inclusion of Monk, Sorcerer and Barbarian classes 6) 200+ hours of game play 7) Romantic involvement with some of the other characters (Aerie, Viconia, Jaheira and for female player characters, Anomen) 8) Interface is extremely easy to use 9) Inclusion of characters from BGI such as Imoen, Minsc and Jaheira 10) Ability to gain a stronghold with specialty quests from that stronghold (I have used the fighter stronghold and the mage stronghold so far, but there are also strongholds for a Paladin, Ranger, Druid, Cleric, Theif, and Bard, each with special quests) 11) A lot of replayability as there are so many different character classes to explore. 12) High experience point cap which allows for example, a mage to use and memorize up to 8th level spells. 13) Multitudes of magical items including Vorpal and Holy Avenger blades, Ring of Wizardry, Armor forged from the scales of Dragons you kill, Bag of Holding and other items that can be forged from items that are found across the quest. 13) High level legendary monsters.

This game is an absolute must have for the RPG fan. It beats Diablo II hands down. Be prepared to think as there are many options open to the character and each choice can lead to unforseen consequences. Be prepared to fight as you are bound to run across a legendary creature or two. Be prepared to romance with one of the aforementioned characters. Be prepared to eat at your computer. By the way, what exactly is sleep? This is THE BEST RPG on the market!!!

Summary: Mostly Positive
Review: I really enjoy BGII, and think it is more than a worthy sequel to the first Baldurs Gate. Yet what constantly annoys me is the amount of lag you get on this game. I am running a PIII 850, with 128MB, and hot graphics card, but still have some performance problems.

Hopefully Black Isle will soon have a fix out.

Summary: Good game, bad performance.
Review: This is such a good game that even with all the performance problems i still have to give it 5 stars. for example, the computer i play on runs all my games perfectly with no lags or slowdowns. But BG2 expects way to much from your computer. After about 45 minutes of playing my comp is already lagging and slowing down, and then it does this extremely annoying thing where you speaking start buzzing and the voices become Distorted and repeat, about 5 or 10 seconds of this you makes you wanna throw your computer out the window. Other than those problems this is a great game, and i would recommended it to anyone with a powerful computer.

Summary: BGII is the best RPG I've ever played
Review: This game is just beautiful. Usually when i finish a game I have no desire to play it any more, it gets put on the shelf with a certain amount of satisfaction depending on how hard it was and how much fun it was. Well BGII is more fun the second time around, I know whats going on and there are so many quests that I didn't get to do the first time, I know my way around and the world is just so big that I feel like I could live here forever. Well maybe thats over-doing it a little but this has never happened to me before.

I particularly love the combat system, there seems like an endless number of spells, I have counted close to 250 so far and I can be so creative with all of them. There is so many different layers to the combats and they aren't so hard that you can't just go through them sort of hack and slashing (with a few important preparations of course) but then I can go nuts with strategy and they almost seem too easy after a while, like when I discovered how to use skeletons to kill mind flayers..........

Anyways this is a great game, I highly recommend it, even if your one that really goes for the quests and the story, you won't be disappointed.
