Summary: A little overwhelming, but ultimately enjoyable
Review: Each Elder Scrolls game has been larger than the rest. While in some ways that's a good thing, it can be decidedly a negative when you're trudging back and forth through endless open spaces. It would have been nice to have several methods of transportation available.

That said, this game is enjoyable in that there is a linear path to follow, but you can also spend endless hours wandering around. There are so many different character classes that you can play the game many different ways, and will have a new experience each time. In addition, you can create a custom character. For instance, I created a character that is primarily a thief, but has as a top specialty the destructive magic.

The toolkit has allowed for many, many mods to be created, and the technical aspects of the game (interface, graphics) are excellent. There are some amazing environmental effects such as a sudden sandstorm and a starry nighttime sky dotted with wispy clouds. Expect to spend many hours (if you wish to) on this one.

Summary: At last! A world to explore
Review: Morrowind reviews caught my eye early on, and I decided it would be my next purchase. It is without a doubt the best RPG game I have ever come across. No longer are you limited to a set series of quests or certain areas of the map. Morrowind is a world in which you can find a place wherever and however you choose. Your character is completely definable with a unique skill table (major, minor and misc) as well as standard attributes which govern the skills.

The only problem I have with the game is the non-levelled creatures that become easy to kill after a while, but this is something that has been attended to in the add-on expansion pack Tribunal, as well as the new pack Bloodmoon.

The game includes the Construction Kit for you to create your own quests, items, characters - basically anything you want to do. And the vast Morrowind community have come up with some brilliant modules which you can download, making the game even more interesting.

Game play is controlled by reaction, so you can play the game over and over, and not see the same things happen in the same way. You can decide to join factions and get involved in the politics, or you can skip it all and wander around the world seeking out the legendary magic items.

Considering the very few minor problems I have had with hardware (as long as you don't expect to leave the viewing distance at max, no problems with graphics,) and the re-playability of this game, as well as all the available add-ons, it has definitely been the best gaming investment I have made... Try it....and say goodbye to the real world! 80hrs+ just on the standard quests!

Summary: Well worth it
Review: When I first went to Mournhold, site of the Tribunal expansion, I was a bit disappointed. After all, it appears to just be a single city, roughly the size of Balmora and arguably less interesting! Suffice to say that this is NOT all there is to it. A bit of patience and a few quests will go a long way to fulfilling your every desire in regards to exploration, enemies, and rewards.

The expansion largely takes place in the city of Mournhold, but if you are journeying in normal Morrowind you will also see Dark Brotherhood assassins that will trigger the expansion plot. A bit of a warning- they do come quite early and can get pretty tough, so be careful where you rest. The expansion is definitely geared for higher level characters. There is a mercenary you can hire to tag along and help, but you'll need to be upwards of level 30 if you expect to play straight through the new areas. Of course, you don't have to do it all at once, and you can return to Morrowind at any time.

The lack of new items in the early part of the expansion can be disappointing. All I can say is to be patient, because there's certainly some VERY nice ones to be had. Mournhold also has some useful things for sale, such as adamantium weapons, glass armor, and a smith that will make glass, adamantium, or ebony armor if you bring him raw materials. There is also a museum where you can sell artifacts for up to 30k gold (if you aren't patient enough to use Creeper or Drunken Mudcrab) and a mage that sells unlimited quantities of grand, greater, and common soul gems.

The expansion includes at least 7 completely new creatures, as well as some very tough unique opponents. There are a lot of extremely cool new areas and puzzles, and dungeons that make the biggest ones in Morrowind look drab and puny. If you've liked the main game, then this expansion is a sure-fire buy. It adds a great deal of extra play, and is definitely worth your money.

Summary: All mine!...
Review: I have played many games but I absolutely love this game! What games let you do what you want? I myself enjoy going around stealing and killing unsuspecting victims. All in the game of course! My brother got this game and I have been playing it ever since. It has great graphics and music. I like how you can talk to anyone and that you can try to become friends or enemies with them. You can also create your own human. Each one being better at different things. A few flaws it contains are that there is times when you have to wait for the game to load up, even on my brothers Alienware Computer the game seemed to have trouble loading or at times in the middle of the game it may even shut down. For the easily angered or impatient people this would not be the game for you. But consider how much fun you will have doing what you want!

Summary: Looks Great, Boring to Play
Review: Morrowind is without question, the best looking game around. The landscape is beautiful, as are the buildings and the artwork is well done. The combat and magic systems are top notch, too. There is plenty to see, fight, steal, kill, etc. As deep as the game looks, it is actually woefully shallow. Other than kill, nothing you do affects your character's place in the world. I have over 100 hours in the game, I'm the Grandmaster of a House, the master of every guild, and it matters not. The game lacks a mental challenge of any kind. Not once was I ever lost, confused or perplexed as to how to escape - there was never anything to escape. Where are the mazes, traps and puzzles found in games like Ultima IX and Baldur's Gate 2? The closest thing to a puzzle in the game is wandering aimlessly looking for hidden doors in the wilderness because of poor directions given by NPCs. Which brings me to another point. The NPCs in the game have no substance at all. They all say the same things, they have no depth and they use two voices (male/female) for each race. Very bland. The storyline is not even remotely engaging. There's no one to love, hate or mistrust, including your own character. It looks so good, I tried everything I could to "immerse" myself in the game (as so many have described this game as immersive) - this game is anything but immersive. In spite of its non-linear play, which is a plus, the game is incredibly boring to play once you stop drooling at the graphics.

Summary: Huge game
Review: The game world is huge. If you like first person and rpgs then this is a must. Excellent graphics. Many skills. THe ability to enchant your own items. Create your own spells. And tons of quests. Get the expansion too and you'll have lots of gameplay.

Summary: Pretty Terrible -(Get it?)
Review: Ladies and gentlemen, I have some terrible news. Morrowind, the third chapter in the Elder Scrolls saga, has proven to be one of the biggest PC let-downs in history. The game is a definitive example of what happens when endless opportunities meet horrible gameplay. By endless opportunities I mean that our good friends at Bethesda Softworks spent countless hours developing an amazingly beautiful and immersive 3d world...one in which you can go anywhere and do almost anything.-Open ended, epic world and events. - Though I did also say horrible gameplay...and Morrowind suffers immeasurably from just that. The fighting system is agonizingly weak. Unless you have a great weapon and awesome abilities with that weapon, you're going to spend a great deal of time getting [beat] by some of the games lowliest creatures. And forget about using bow and arrow unless you're at least a +10 marksman. Also - There are so many spells and enchantments to use that it gets overwhelming trying to remember what does what and how to use it. Not only are the spells too many, but the interface with which to use them is cumbersome and annoying as well. You get stuck in these skirmishes, and you're struggling to attack and switch spells at the same time while your enemy(impossible to outrun) beats you down with little effort. _ Like I said, the world is very beautiful and the characters are amazingly detailed, but all this is lost as the game tries to run before it can walk. - - In short, Morrowind's designers tried to stuff 5 pounds worth of greatness into an 11 ounce box.** Too much at once for any gamer who doesn't think an aggravation induced stroke should be part of epic fantasy gameplaying. - Buy at your own risk.

Summary: elders scroll 3 tribunal expansion
Review: My word can the game get any better? This makes me want bloodmoon now not later. Morrowind is an amazing gaming experience and I would recommend it for anyone looking for the experience of a lifetime. Do what you want to do when you want to and become anything you want to be. Tribunal just added more variety and quests to an amazing game. Don't be afraid to explore new areas cause you will need the experience as new game expansions come out. I played elders scroll on the xbox first, but the computer is just as fine. thanks for your time.

Summary: Massive
Review: After completing and enjoying Diablo II & Lords of Destruction, I was looking for another game with more of the same but with up-to-date graphics. Morrowind is kind of like Diablo II but the game world is so huge and there are so many characters to interact with and give you side quests that the game drags forever. The graphics are beautiful and extremely detailed but that is the problem...too much things to see and do that there are so many lulls in between. You can talk to 10 characters straight and not get a side quest or get a hint of what to do next. This massiveness also makes it easy to forget what quest you're on when another is given to you. However, this game may appeal to those who feel Diablo II and its clones are too simplistic and console-like.

Summary: This Game Rocks
Review: You need a good computer. But, come on, by now you should be up there if you think you're half a gamer. This game is awesome. The best RPG. Its enormous and like real life, in that you can do anything. Dont settle for some pre-determined pretense of non-linear gameplay. This is he real deal. Live it, love it.

A truley modern game that really works from a gameplay standpoint. Rare. Very Rare.
