Rating: Summary: Ummmmm, how can you review this? Review: How can any of you write a review for Icewind Dale II, when it hasn't even been released yet and won't be until late August or September?!
Rating: Summary: would actually like to give it 41/2 stars Review: Because I have one minor problem with this game, it takes place before the events in the prequel and so you cannot import your old team (all six of which I have a long history with, especially Brydgette Shia'ai my sword and bow master, who later became a mage who I wanted to make a ranger/sorceror under the new system). The previous game, and this one, combined the party and story strength of Baldur's Gate (I&II) with the hack and slash simplicity of Diablo. It also improved on Baldur, in that it was the perfect length (took me a week and a half too win) level-ups happen regularly (BG took weeks before any character went up), loads of unique magic items to truly perfect your characters, and was simply so memorable and atmospheric that I still remember this one and compare it too most games I play.
Rating: Summary: Nice... Review: Nice but Neverwinter Nights seems better i think..
Rating: Summary: Havent played it but hopeful. Review: Icewind Dale was a great game and this looks like it makes it even better. The new Races and subraces are going to make the game great. Also, the new classes like the sorcerer and monks can give your character even more depth. I can't wait to see what this game has in store for gamers.
Rating: Summary: The best D & D Game to date Review: I've been playing D&D in one way or another for the last 20 years, and this game captures the flavor of the game unlike any other. In both complexity and depth, this game game has it all. You can choose from many different races (including Drow) and the class system is true to the 3rd edition. In fact, this is the best 3rd edition video game to date. This game will set the standard for all other D&D video games to come.
Rating: Summary: From a huge fan of the original Review: If Icewind Dale 2 is as good as the original game, then we have a lot to look forward too. I spent many hours of my life on the original game, the expansion: Heart of Winter, and the downloadable expansion: Trials of the Luremaster.Icewind Dale 2 is looking to be a really good game because the graphics have been improved and they have switched to the third edition Dungeons and Dragons rules. I just recently finished Pool of Radiance (which isn't that great if you haven't played it) and hope Icewind Dale 2 can way up and above what Pool of Radiance did. Overall, this game is going to be great and I'll be one of the first ones with a copy!
Rating: Summary: Short and Sweet Review: I enjoyed this game and spent time beating it.The problem is that it is too one directional. The play is better than say baldur's gate, mostly because of the new d and d rules. But, baldur's gate was more free, you could roam the country and chose your path. In icewind dale you did what it told you, that was it, I suggest Baldur's gate 2 if you want a great game
Rating: Summary: One of those unknown jewels.... Review: Icewind Dale 2 is certainly a great game. It is absurd to say "2D graphs = boring". In fact, the 2D graphs are, like in all the Infinity Engine games, sublime, probably even more realistic and detailed, more lifelike than any 3D game up to date.
Story-wise, Black Isle has done better, but it is certainly a compelling, interesting story. The artwork is jawbreaking, the music very nice... It is definetely a game in which you plunge mind and soul.
A nice farewell to the Infinity Engine, which, for me and many friends, has constituted the Golden Age of Gaming.
Note : It is indeed a very difficult game. I wasn't very accustomed with 3rd edition and my characters had many major, major flaws, making major battles incredibly tough. A worth play but be prepared to save often and reload even more.
Rating: Summary: Great RPG game classic DND the bright way Review: I dont care for the 3d crap out now this is what Forgotten realms is made of i hope they make more of these.
