Summary: Diablo 2 (beta) - the ultimate action RPG
Review: Diablo 2 has been developed by Blizzard since 1997. Here we are - four years later - and we are still waiting. Is it worthed?

Yes! For one, the game has been tested and polished and tested again for well over an year. The open beta will include 100,000 testers roaming the Act I of Diablo in an attempt to stress test the system. No other game has received this much attention. The result?

Awesome! The 5 heroes (Amazon, Barbarian, Necromancer, Paladin, and Sorceress) are very balanced and they have been made even more addictive to play. Every hero is unique - the skills and spells do not overlap as in Diablo I. Also, there are tens of new monsters with new skills and appearance. For example, all Fallen Shamans can now resurrect their minions.

Finally, the multiplayer is much better - more balanced and focused on teamplay. For example, the Paladin's auras will bestow bonuses on all party members.

Summary: Played the beta and its AWESOME!
Review: I got into the beta team a week ago and played this awesome game. There are vast improvements over the best selling Diablo. The graphics, sound, music and movies are incredible. The game play makes this game quite possibly the best selling game of the year 2000. If you like Diablo, Baulder's Gate, Gauntlet Legends, NOX or Everquest, you will absolutely love this game. Since I got the beta, I haven't turned off my computer. There are vast improvements to prevent cheating when playing with an abyss of other players. This collector's edition includes great extras. Diablo2 is the best game I have played in months. This game is worth buying, trust me. By the time the game is released, I bet the game will be in backorder. There will be people on waiting lists and huge lines just to buy this game. Better pre order your copy today, I have.

Summary: The game is worth the wait from a beta tester
Review: I am currently beta testing Diablo 2 and it has been worth the wait and the hype. After 3 long years waiting for the game it is just a couple months from shipping. First the one dim spot about the game, the graphics. Since the game has been in development for so long the graphics are slightly dated. I still think they look better than 95% of the games out there but they could (and probably) should have been better. The gameplay is still the easy point-and-click style of the original and plays much faster and smoother than D1. The 5 new classes are great and all are big improvements over the classes from D1. The amazon and sorceress are my favorites with the necromancer a close third. Then the Paladin and lastly the Barbarian. I'm not into hack'n'slash too much but the paladin has some very nice spells that make him worthwild to use. The amazon is a lot like the rogue from D1 but she was my favorite so that's why I like the amazon, plus she has some very nice spells. The sorceress has lots of nice spells at her disposal. The necromancer is cool because you can summon skeletons, golems and revive other monsters to fight for you. The game is many times larger than D1 the first act alone takes 8-10 hours of play and it's the smallest of the 4 acts. the game is great and if you want some extensive Diablo 2 coverage goto www.diabloii.net they have a ton of info (I am not affiliated with them I just visit several times a day:) I post some over there about beta testing so maybe you'll read some of my posts. I hope I helped you in deciding to buy/not buy Diablo 2 and if you do I hope to see you online on battle.net!

Summary: What MADE Dungeoun Seige
Review: If you liked Dungeoun Siege or Divine Divinity type games but never played this classic, do so today. You get get it anywhere for super cheap and its so fun and addictive. For those who like more in depth stories and less clickity clicking, go pick up Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum, or Morrowind. But if you want super-clicking, level-uping, and finding more powerful weapons, armours, and magicks, then this addictive clickfest of killing the damned creatures from the pits of the hells is the game for you.

Go back to the time when this action rpg ruled the world. It still does, because it's still fun and awesome (and see how long your sucky ass lasts in hell mode baby!).

Summary: One simple Flaw killed it......
Review: This game would have been a MASTERPIECE, had it have not been for the stupidity of blizzard. This game WOULD be extremely fun, but there is one flaw, and this one flaw ruins how much I enjoyed the game: The damn saving option. This really pissed me off. After a hard 3 hours straight of battling, you find out you have to run off to work, so you save and quit the game. After a hard 8 hours of work, you look forward to playin the pretty fun game of Diablo 2 once again. you pop the Cd in the drive, start up the game....WHAT THE HELL?? I JUST BEAT ALL THESE ENEMIES! yes that is right. After you save and quit, the enemies return. sure, its a good way to earn experience, but i think it goes a little too far when you have to defeat about 200 enemies and spend about an hour JUST to get back to where you left off on your last play. At first it's not that bad, mainly because the enemies are not that hard, and there are not many of them. but once i got to the third act, i got so frustrated i just quit the game and didnt play it for a month. This gets so frustrating and time-consuming it is unreal.

I loved the first Diablo, and right after i beat it i went out and bough diablo 2 with an expansion pack RIGHT AWAY, expecting this FANTASTIC game, and all i got was a 3 hour excitement from the first 2 acts. Now, i am going to auction it off of ebay as quick as possible, as the sight of the box i have reminds me of the mistake i made of spending a total of 40 dollars on such crap

Summary: Diablo II rocks!
Review: I recomend Diablo II to everyone! It's the best game I have ever played. There is free internet play over battle.net™, which is great. The game isn't exactly an RPG, but more an adventure/action/RPG. Or as Blizzard Entertainment says, "We didn't make an RPG, we made Diablo." You choose from 5 completely unique from eachother character classes. Them being: Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Necromancer, Sorceress.

Amazon: A versatile character that specializes in throwing weapons such as spears and javelins and also if very handy with a bow. The Amazon also has some cool spells and passive magics.

Barbarian: A savage melee character with little or no "magic" spells. His 3 skill trees include, Combat Actions, War Cries, and Masteries.

Paladin: A very popular character played on battle.net. Paladins have "auras", which benifit themselves and other users that are on the Paladin's respective, "party".

Necromancer: A very interesting and powererful character. The Necromancer fancies raising dead victims of his own. He also has, "Poison and Bone" skill category, which is mostly offensive spells. The "Curses" section is another skill tree. However, the Summoning section seems to overpower the Curses + Poison and Bone.

Sorceress: She is the main magic character with all sorts of fancy spells. Her spells are devided into three sections, those being: Fire, Lighting, Cold. The Lightning section seems to be the most powerful, however. If you like a lot of powerful magics she is the character to choose.

Summary: Worth the wait
Review: Wow! As of this moment I have finished the game on normal difficulty and am about halfway through it again on Nightmare difficulty. And having a blast.

If you prefer deep, thought provoking games with amazing plot twists and mind-bending puzzles, this is not the game for you. Diablo II, like Diablo, is pure hack-and-slash-treasure-accumulating mayhem. It is not intellectual, but it is great fun!

The new character classes are unique and interesting. My favorites so far are the amazon, since you can kill the monster at range before it ever hits you, and the sorceress, because, well... she has all that cool magic. I'm not so sure about the necromancer, who runs around with dead things, but the paladin and the barbarian appear to be great melee combatants.

The new item system builds on the system in Diablo. On top of stuff like 'Obsidian Amulet of Stability,' you can also find set items, which are several items which, if worn together, have some sort of bonus associated with them. However, it's difficult to put a set together, and the bonus is not always worth the effort. Also, you can find seven different types of gems, each of which can be one of five different qualities (chipped, flawed, et al) Each gem gives a certain ability to a weapon, a helmet, or a shield, including increased stats, increased elemental defense, increased chance to find magic items.

On the down side, the game can bog down horribly, to the point where literally several seconds can go by between your actions. There have already been two patches, in the first two weeks, and rumor has it another patch is on the way. The online gaming, via Battlenet is often down, and even when you can get connected, there is often severe lag (on top of the slow down I already mentioned), and often you will lose your connection.

Overall, great game! I highly recommend it. My only suggestion is that if you go on Battlenet, try to keep your sense of humor.

Summary: HIghly Recommended.
Review: Diablo II is highly addicting. I'm a 24 year old female and love every minute of game play!

If you've got dial up, or simply a crummy computer the game lags tons and can get extremely frustrating. Despite that the pro's still out-weigh the cons by far.

Regarding the character builds, the possibilites are HUGE. I've found that if I ever find myself getting bored with one character I can start on a whole new character build which brings a whole new light on things. I also find myself "trading items" with other players alot, and let me tell you trading in itself is a game.

There is also the option to "hostile" other players which at a low level can be annoying, but just imagining the look on your opponents face when you whip out your level 90 is priceless.

These features are just the tip of the iceberg. A game that you just have to try, and in no time flat you'll be as addicted as the rest of us ;). Highly recommended!
